I played the long game and let colleagues projections and hate be their own downfall. The passive aggression eventually became overt and they humiliated themselves in the worst ways. They are no longer employed with us 😊I just sat back / and let it unfold, not saying there was no tears or hurt / I was hurt. But I am restored. Give it to God. It worked out perfectly.

I've learned to be especially suspicious of the colleagues and leadership that try to be overly friendly. The people at work who overshare or try to get you to overshare either have ill intentions for the information you give them or they lack boundaries. Neither of which make a good work environment. I've been at my job for 5 years now and my coworkers learned a long time ago not to play with me. They may not always like me, but they respect me, and that's way more valuable.

I've learned to keep your business to yourself especially at work. Get your money and go home these folks are not your friend. I never cared to hang with co-workers outside of the job either.💯

Being Attractive with a nice figure doesn't help, so I've had it bad in several ways:
1.) My Intelligence, Skill set, Personality, and ability to Learn quickly was a Threat to Men & Women who had a position of Authority, or was aiming for one
2.) Being attractive with a nice figure, good fashion sense, and nicely put together, created Jealousy and Envy amongst the Women, and some of the Gay Men.
There was a Target on my back for just existing.
3.) A few Men may become interested, then quickly become aggressive when I decline their advances.
I was often put together with a Man who had similar qualities as Me, even if I never spoke to the guy, and there was always some bs. I was there to Work and go home, never becoming a part of any Cliques or Crews, so that became an issue as well. There was a time or 2 where a female Supervisor and female Coworker approached me on the job, in a combative manner. I was so sick of the Drama, so I calmly and politely asked if they wanted to settle their issue in the bathroom, where it's just us 2, with no witnesses or Cameras. I never had an issue with them afterwards, and never saw them when it was time to punch out (no pun intended)
I'm Pretty, Professional, and Proper, however I know how to Code switch. These people didn't know that I'm from one of the worst Projects in My City, and am well respected amongst the most terrifying people who've committed the most heines crimes.
It's unfortunate that I had to resort to the thought of violence, but that's how they kept approaching Me. Clearly, they're not about that Life, and only tough on the Job.
Thankfully, I am now Self Employed, and don't have to deal with the unnecessary Drama- People are Miserable. I have Joy

I agree with you when people start ganging up on you in the work place or when work gets toxic it's time to quit the job or move to another work station if it's available. Because at the end of the day yes you will act like you are okay and you get it together but it will affect you mentally.

When I decided to move into education, I made a promise to remind myself EVERYDAY that these people were not my friends. I had a successful career in the military and healthcare and decided to go into education. I had to do an unpaid internship. I laid out how many days I had to complete and what I needed to complete on my list, everyday- I looked at like working out everyday and having a plan to stick too. Because I was older (In my 40's) man alive, they hated me! And were educators y'all! Yep. I refused to allow their negativity slow me down. I had big plans that I was making happen, even when they tried all their little tricks and bs on me. I lied about my home life because I knew these hens were going to gossip. I lied about what my next steps were, because I would have not put it past them to call where I was applying and sabotage me. I acted dumb in most cases but was well aware of what was going on.

This is happening to me in the workplace from some colleagues, interns and people I supervise. Yoh! People out here are weird especially in the workplace. Like sometimes I look at these people and wonder but atleast I get my paycheck. I just learnt I'm not in the work place to be loved I'm there for the paycheck and go home to live my life.

It's so sad that the workplaces are like this... I'm learning this now having started a new job. Like just being mean for no reason... I'm in healthcare so I see it way more often then not. I've only been there a month, I love what I do, and it's about my patients first, but ppl you work with can make it so difficult.

This is an awesome subject and as a seasoned nurse, I want to give the baby nurses out there some advice. In the course of your career, you are going to come across nursing coworkers that will make your life a living nightmare. They will run to admin about you, try to make you feel incompetent, etc and you will KNOW to avoid them and keep your business to yourself...there WILL be times when you will come across a patient that is in critical need, end of life or whatever. Sometimes, you will bond PROFESSIONALLY with that horrible white capped succubus due to that patient's needs and it will SEEM like you two are now BFF's. NOPE, you are trauma bonding. So, once that patient is discharged or passes from this earth, please DO NOT drop your guard. Some of these nurses out here will use that experience, especially if you are new to manipulate and exploit you. Let me give you some examples: Girl, can you take on a few of my shift or patients. Girl, can you go pass this med or do this treatment for me (it's a set up, don't to it), etc.. if you start doing that and the very moment you tell them no, only the Lord will be able to save you from thier wrath, so please DON'T. Keep your boundaries. I can't stand the stigma of the "nurses eat their own" I never engaged in that behavior and never understood it, but I did receive that kind of negativity in my career and vowed I would never do that to a baby nurse. So, stay vigilant and find yourself a strong mentor. The mentor you want is usually quiet, keeps to herself, has a no-nonsense attitude, holds a resting B face and will gray rock the poo poo out of the one that behaves like the rabid bi-polar unit harpy, she won't demean you but she is not going to baby you either, when you shadow her or ask for her advice she is going to be the one that looks you straight in the eye and sounds like she is asking you NCLEX/common sense type questions when it comes to a patient to get your nursing rationale going, when it comes to a situation, she'll tell ya once, maybe twice but after that, you are on your own, so don't take it personal. Good luck out there, baby nurses...don't give up. The most rewarding experience in your career is the floor knowledge that you will gain.

great comment, so true, and this goes for ALL medical professionals who work with patients. I work in outpatient community pharmacy and I had to quit even tho I love it. because of what you said. if it was a corporate office job with no patients maybe I could deal, but after years of these people not only bullying me but NOT DOING THEIR JOBS WHICH HURTS PATIENTS! they would cancel out scripts from our "contact manager" queue which means it's a complex issue or refill that we HAVE to call on, cannot send an electronic request. they just delete without calling and without leaving a note as to why. these scripts could've been worked on. yeah it's a pain in the ass but it needs to be done so people can get their meds. the bullies including my bosses would say it needs to get done while also still deleting stuff without working on it. then bc I over performed I was the senior working most nights and weekends when most people come in. and I had to be the one to explain WHY their insulin or whatever wasn't in. the bullies never left notes so I legit would have to tell them that there's no reason, someone just didn't do their job! I was HONEST because it was the truth and guess who had to deal with the JUSTIFIED anger????
this is just one example of the BS they do

If I may give advice....don't tell anyone how much you make and just observe everyone. Idk you but I wish you so much success in your new journey. I was in the beauty business now in healthcare 😊

At least in medical feild outsiders can't just pop up at youe job Starting mess with you. Medical feild you got to go through 10 different people before you get to me. Which is crazy work. Medical feild is way safer environment to work in than retail in my case
