    I think it is weird that Billy called Maura so many times in the days during her disappearance. It is weird that he called her 10-17 times a day on a regular basis. That seems to speak toward obessive behavior. Maybe he was overly controlling? Doesn't make him seem respectable it even makes him seem more suspicious to me.

    I was just talking this case out to my boyfriend and something dawned on me. They said per the liquor store receipt Maura purchased Kalua..Seagrams 6 pack..and the Franzia. According to police report ..only Franzia was found. And I know Tim and Lance mentioned that Maura could have easily take. the Kalua bottle with her on foot..but the heavy ass 6 pack of glass bottles...the bottle of kalua..AND her purse etc? And RAN away with all that in her arms? No way...Im starting to now believe she in fact did get into a vehicle. And the fact that she felt comfortable enough to say "wait let me grab my liquor" tells me she knew the person...any thoughts?? My boyfriend is looking at me like Im crazy right now for obsessing over these details.

      +John Smith WHEN was the rag put there is my question. Does it have to be at the 2nd crash. And could someone else have done it.
      Honestly, im starting to believe she did go to quietly off herself.
      Im also considering her being bipolar. Would actually explain a lot for me.
      But seriously, THREE wrecks, one causing serious injury to someone is huge.
      Is Billy capable of hiring a hit man? Is that too out there to consider?

    • @nyyankeesbaby7
      @nyyankeesbaby7 9 лет назад

      Three wrecks? This is how information online gets twisted...it was never confirmed that she injured anyone ..if u are referring to the Vasi incident.There is no proof or confirmation that she was EVER involved in that.

    • @nyyankeesbaby7
      @nyyankeesbaby7 9 лет назад

      She was in 2 confirmed accidents. Please be careful what you put out there.

    • @unprocessed_life
      @unprocessed_life 9 лет назад

      +Melissa Bridges I thought 3 were confirmed? The one in MA, #1 in NH, #2 in NH when she disappeared and left her car.
      I also thought that MA wreck WAS the one where the student was hit? Or was that a guardrail accident? Or is only one in NH actually confirmed?
      This is why it can be very dangerous for so many outsiders to blog about these things, AND why juries are told to discount ANY media info as they decide a case. It is very easy to mix truth with opinion/speculation.

    has anyone ever questioned her sister Kathleen as to what that conversation that upset Maura so much was about? I don't know much about this case but I think they mentioned her sister lived in Canada, maybe she was traveling there? just a thought

  • @anomadiclife74
    @anomadiclife74 5 лет назад +1

    I think Maura was going up there to spend time with her sister. She had an emotional phone call with her a few days before. She may have confronted Tim about his bad influence on her sister. A drunk Tim may have accidentally killed her in a physical altercation. Just speculation but it fits the sighting of the red truck searching.

    Question: I'm new to this, but is there evidence as to how Maura planned to pay for this "trip/vacation". I know enough from Oxygen that says she took out $280, but then bought liquor, filled the gas tank most likely, but where was she getting the funds to pay for a few days to a week "get away" (which is what I feel she was doing)? Did she have a credit card? I haven't heard anything, yet, about this. But, in 2004 you aren't doing anything for a few days with less than $200 approx.

    The sighting /alibi of RF I long thought was odd in its timing since RF should have noticed the accident when he came home. I think that and many other issues with him that were not mentioned here (ex-wife's claims of murder/ refusal to let police search his property/ need for a sudden alibi/ friendship with the gas station owners) make him a great suspect. Even his hobbies such as hunting add to the mystery.

      +J Gamez More than likely their relationship was at it's end and there was drama. Pure speculation, but Maura could've been pregnant with someone else's child. Evidently she slept around like a freak.

    • @xander7ful
      @xander7ful 7 лет назад +1

      I think she was pregnant with Billy's or Hossein's child. If Billy's, then she would have had custody problems for the rest of her life & been bound to him forever. Billy seemed obsessed w/her. But if it were Hossein's child, it would have had serious ramifications for her & Hossein at the University & got Billy & Fred super upset. I'm unsure about M's and Billy's relationship being at an end. Maybe she wanted to end it, but he was so controlling that running away was the only safe option.

    I disagree with the notion that Maura Murray had a "strong mind" as John Smith said. At the very least we can say that she had been going through a rough spot in her life and that therefore her mental state was far from good.
    Furthermore I dont understand the suggestion that Maura's supervisor was not telling the truth about her breakdown at work. What would be her reason to lie about something like that? Is she in on a conspiracy to make Maura disappear or something? Nonsense

    I just ... can't take this guy seriously considering his Twitter is full of random conspiracy theories about chemtrails and false flags. Seems like a nice guy, but I don't know how reliable his theories would be. Saying he got off the police force because of a new chief seems out there, like he went through all of that training and then totally gave up on that? This might be true but leads me to believe he could be a bit paranoid, paired with the conspiracy and false flag stuff he seems to be into.
    Also, saying folks who have involved themselves too much couldn't be seriously suspected because of how involved they are seems odd--we know from countless murders and serial killers that some offenders DO love to involve themselves.
    This new info about the red truck makes me think she was definitely picked up. Creepy men leering at women nearby? I don't think that's a coincidence. Though that doesn't explain all of the secrecy with her friends. I agree there's no way you don't remember a few people's names from a party, no way. Hm.
    Thank you for keeping pressure on this case!

    • @Koosh1984
      @Koosh1984 9 лет назад +3

      +Rachelle Owen I thought the same thing. I scrolled through his twitter and all the posts kind of painted a 'conspiracy theory' stereotype first impression. However he does seem informed but the info he provides doesn't really have solid sources give. where did he get billy's phone records?
      I also agree the red truck has more involvement than I originally thought.
      either it was someone random that picked up maura or the tandem driver.
      I have abandoned my train of thought that she is alive living a new life. It's still something that needs to be solved though.

    • @rachelleleahliberate
      @rachelleleahliberate 9 лет назад +2

      Sure, it's possible but I don't buy it. Even if you don't know someone directly, you know someone who' knows that someone. I have no idea if her friends were involved, or if they're just creeped out by the interest in this case or what, but seems so unlikely that they haven't been able to confirm anyone at this party really. Everything about this case is baffling. Who knows.

    • @nyyankeesbaby7

      +Rachelle Owen I published a video exposing Cole N. Holefield for who he really is, and immediately was attacked by Truthseeker. It's almost as if all these people who are involved and surround this podcast are a group of conspiracy theorists. I don't wish to argue with them, but they immediately have a confrontational attitude. Their way or no way. I am just putting the cards out on the table. For my video, I will probably be labelled a "Duck".

    To be honest, when I was in college this may have been something I would have done during a difficult time. By that I mean, lie to a professor about a family "situation" grab some alcohol and get the hell out of Dodge. Her BF is cheating on her, she is in trouble at school for stealing the CC #, she just wrecked her father's brand new car, possibly pregnant (by who knows) and her successful older sister is disappointed in her for being a screw-up. I feel some opportunist creep offered her help or flat out abducted her off the street. No offense to the fine people of NH, but small mountain towns all over America have questionable resident's who may be involved in illegal activities (manufacturing/using Meth for example).

    I honestly think she couldn't have gotten very far in such a short span of time. I think whatever the truth may be, it could be found near where they found her car. The disadvantages in this case is just how vast and rural the area is. I wonder if she had saw a gas station or something as she was driving that way and maybe tried to walk back toward one she may of spotted earlier to try and use a phone?

    How hard have you looked at Tim Carpenter. The red truck he has or had is the same one spotted searching for someone the night of the accident I think. He was also identified as being there in the spring with a roll of blankets that smelled like a decaying dead body.

    • @adamant5550
      @adamant5550 2 года назад

      In my mind, the red truck theory just doesn't match up with the timeline. Gas station witness sees red truck leave gas station at 7:16 PM that night traveling east (same direction as Maura). It takes 2 minutes to get from the gas station to the crash site. The Westmans (house near crash site) do not report hearing the accident until 7:25 PM. So, by all accounts, at least based on available information, and provided the timeline provided by the gas station witness is correct, the red truck was ahead of Maura by nearly 10 minutes.

    I believe some or all of the family do know more about the disappearance & Maura currently than they are saying. And I believe at least one has had contact with her since the disappearance. As James Renner claims, she is protecting a child & thus they are protecting her. I don't think Maura is going to be drawn out until she is ready. And who knows when that will be, if ever?

  • @singergirl1678

    There are more questions than answers in this episode. John seems to be lean ng toward a theory involving the police and I was hoping for more explanation on the rag in the tailpipe and what bothers him about the 7:05 call. How does that all fit together? WHO was Billy calling the two days he referenced? were those all calls to Maura, her friends or just random calls? John does a good job of discounting Renner...esp with the interview of RO. I just think the hosts are all over the place with their questions. i hope there is more to come with this guy as I think he has more info to share. A live show with him and Clint would be great.

    • @singergirl1678
      @singergirl1678 9 лет назад +3

      Most of what he hinted at was in part I. Such as: 21:23 "I want to know why....why we were told in the beginning that the Saturn hit the tree when it is obvious that it did not."
      and 22:50 when he was talking about the possible slide off and 2 hours missing in GCSD report "Because of these GCSD reports, there is something amiss about what actually occurred". and in talking about Dick Guy, the EMT who saw the towel in the exhaust pipe and thought it was strange that they were only there for 6 minutes. Many times he says "something is amiss".
      After hearing part I and reading some of his comments under that episode, I brought up this episode to hopefully hear more evidence about what is "amiss", however this episode told really nothing about the case, so I'm hoping there is more to the interviews. John's "feelings" about certain characters, while interesting don't really prove anything. A killer can look you right in the eye and lie to you, so how they interacted with him or in the community mean little to me. Renner did the same thing in saying so and so was a "good guy". I'm more interested in what the evidence shows.
      That being said, I think it was the questionsthat John was being asked,which he responded to,but didn't really lead him to talk more about what he thinks actually happened.

    I realize I may be a little behind in timeliness as far as these broadcasts and comments, but i, myself, have followed blogs and articles regarding this case for several years, rarely comment, one of those "silent observers". In the search for the "catalyst" that brought on the resulting disappearance, my question is specifically in reference to the phone call. One aspect that could bring a person to a catastrophic state would be a disclosure regarding health issues (either Maura or family). My question, when was Maura's mother diagnosed with cancer? Could it have even around that time frame? Perhaps this has been addressed somewhere and I've missed it.

    Funny how you're trying to coach Alden on responsibility when you're knowingly broadcasting speculation as if it's fact (eg. sharing something as a fact just because that's how you'd heard it before) and having very sketchy people as guests on the show. At the end of the day, you are all civilians unqualified, untrained, and unauthorized to play at detective. Why do you think you're so much more qualified to be trying to solve this case than the police or PIs? Who died and made you sheriff? It's fine to be an armchair detective... if you stay in that armchair and out of the way. I mean, look at every other true crime podcast. They spitball and speculate, but they aren't inserting themselves into the case like you guys are. I'm pretty sure people like Smith and Renner (and outside of this podcast, Bob Ruff comes to mind) are just going to impede any investigation more than they're going to help it. All we end up with are self-important bullies who decide they're the law and cause more trouble than they're worth, throwing accusations around, rabble rousing, and hurting innocent people.

      +Ts0usermax Well, they got someone's scent off the gloves said person disappearing from the middle of the road. If they had gotten no scent at all they would not have gone where they did. Fred could not possibly have known what she was wearing because we know he was not with her. Sharon Rausch, who is the mother of Billy the erstwhile boyfriend of Maura, said that Maura was not someone who wore heavy clothing and the gloves may only have been tried on by her at most-fair enough. Fred was right that they should have asked him for clothing she had worn all the time; the cops were remiss in their duty. Still the dogs went to the position they did with force, so I am inclined to trust the noses of the dogs having done some research on the topic.

    • @gardenclient1086
      @gardenclient1086 8 лет назад +1

      +Steven Seagull the rag is the key? For the life of me, I can't understand why anyone gives the rag a second thought. Fred himself has said he told her to put it in there. It's an old wives tale that this will help a crap car run better. What possible motive would an abductor/killer have for putting the rag in her tailpipe? Or Maura herself?
      As for the dog, the owner of the dog said that before the search even started they knew the dog would only go 100 feet. All the dog proves is that Maura went eastbound. This is straight from Clint Harting, the most logical voice in this case IMO.

    Um I think we already figured out that her sister called at 10 something and billy is the one who called at 12:07 - 12:14 and that’s when she went into a catatonic state and her supervisor walked her home..... sooooo not really sure why Mr. Smith is saying that UNLESS that’s purposely being put out there at this moment in time since this was 2 years ago to see if billy or anyone else knew or mentioned something about Billy’s call.

    I thought the interview was very interesting and well put together. John came across as a trustworthy and logical person in my opinion. Good luck with this moving forward, it's a facinating case and i'm completely hooked on every episode and detail of this case.

    John Smith isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. He gets easily confused. At 19:12 he says Maura was a West Point graduate, which she definitely was not. He also misinterprets a couple of points in the first part of the interview. Maybe that's really why Mr. Smith was only a police officer for three years. He just wasn't very good at police work. Also, his email is DoraTheExplorer@mail.com. Really?!?
