I never gave the Manson Family connection much credence to the Zodiac murders. Then l listened to Davis on a podcast and he puts forth a compelling argument. The reason it all seemed plausible to me is because you don’t see law enforcement make the effort to solve the Zodiac murders the way they did other high profile cases like the Golden State murders. This suggests to me that they may know who the killer was and aren’t wasting time on the case now. Then “Bad Things” comes along and destroys the suspect's timeline. Thanks a lot “Bad Things!”
These kind of arguments often appears in unsolved crimes: “We know who the killer is!” But why didn’t you catch him? There were probably enough policemen put on this case, but there wasn’t a satisfying solution, hence “this case didn’t get enough attention.” The Zodiac is “dead, in prison or in a mental institution” you could say this about anyone you haven’t heard of in a while. They don’t have the Zodiac as a criminal, that’s for sure.
The Zodiac case seems so solvable to me. There’s DNA evidence behind the stamps. They got a partial profile back in 2002. That sample supposedly cleared ALA along with several other suspects. With advancements in technology a full DNA sample could now be realized. Such a sample was supposed to be done two years ago. The public has heard nothing. Something’s fishy. Do they know who it is and are keeping quiet for some reason? Seems plausible to me.
There were dozens of serial killers active across the country at the time. Califonia having such a massive population compared to the rest of the country, it's not unthinkable that two infamous killers would end up doing their things completly independant of eachother at roughly the same time at the two most populated areas of the most populated state.
Hell, there were dozens of confirmed serial killers in both cities at the same time. Most serial killers don't get headlines.
Not gonna try to pretend like I even have a clue who the Zodiac is or was. But I’ve always thought and still believe that it wasn’t just one person. There were a few different people who committed the murders.
Who is it Michael Madeau or whatnot? He being interviewed was saying something about two completely different cars. I mean he is a little sketchy on his memory from the trauma.
Mean the cars heentions are like a Karman Ghia and a very large model I cannot remember like a Buick Lesabre or Oldsmobile Delta 88 or something. Not two cars you would interchange in a description

Just like the movies strangers. Manson said the body count is higher then they think. Because he has his people all over the place. Some said they did the keddy cabin murders as well. But we will never know. This can most certainly be very possible. Manson talked very cryptic about his crimes, saying I am everywhere, and have bodies all over. Maybe true

ok it was the state of California that tried the Mansons not the federal government. That's part of the reason that Manson was so cocky about going back to prison. He had done federal time before and I've been told federal isn't as bad as state. He didn't really how rough CA state penitentiaries could be. He was in for a rude awakening.
I thought Manson didn’t want to leave prison the last time, because he felt comfortable there. There wasn’t anyone to help him outside of the institute.

The Manson family operated *exclusively* in Southern California. The Zodiac operated _almost exclusively_ in the San Francisco Bay area. One possible homicide in Riverside and two in Lake Tahoe are the only outliers. It is commonly believed that both the Manson Family and the Zodiac killed more than is publicly credited to them. However, their maps do not overlap at all.
They *never* tied a Manson acolyte to the Zodia. If the cops had caught him, they would have crowed it from every rooftop in the country. They had zero gain for keeping it quiet for 50+ years.
I lived in Vallejo for 5 years in the 80s and took it up as a hobby, for reason I won't explain here. None of the named leading suspects are or could be the Zodiac. The evidence for each is often contradictory or just plain wrong. Far to many cases of stretching the evidence to fit the suspect, and focus on circumstantial details and ignoring the hard evidence.
The Manson family is scarily serendipitous to me. I have been to their Death Valley ranch and the sites of the two most publicized murders as well the place they lived at in the old LA zoo. (want to see hell on earth? go to an abandoned zoo) I've even spoken with around a dozen people that actually knew them.
In each case I had no idea where I was (the MF relationship) or that the person I was speaking with had known CM. After meeting the cadaver dog handler I began actively looking into the family. I came across no new information, but I was able to quell several BS rumors. Like this one.
I have enough for a book and I even have a half finished manuscript. But a man with a snub nosed .38 and very serious fieldcraft skills, convinced me not to do that when we met in a parking garage in Philadelphia. He approached *undetected* from behind (hard to do), used my name and referenced my work. If I was going to add new knowledge to the field, I may have gone head and published it. It was confermational only. Killing me wasn't the objective. Killing the book was. I stopped.
Bodies only attract unwanted attention. Had I been killed all of the personal and professional files would have been examined by police. Having detailed MF research and investigation notes would have had somebody run down that angle. Maybe they would have seen something I overlooked.
On the other hand. If I just stop. It all stops; no questions; no police investigation no new book.

This guy bares no resemblance to eye witness descriptions of The Zodiac. His costume indicated he had been in the military, specifically the navy. The guy from the Manson Family had no service record.

The crazy thing is, Howard Davis has studied the case and knows what he’s talking about but this weak theory which is based on probably a lie, has hurt his reputation.

There is a connection between the Manson killings and The Beach Boys. Their drummer lived at 10050 Cielo Dr and Manson did for a short period of time. He dispatched his "family" there and they found their victims and killed them. The Zodiac? Who knows?
Dennis Wilson never lived at 10050 Cielo Dr. Terry Melcher their producer did. Manson knew he had moved out by the time of the murders
But if Manson knew he no longer lived at the Cielo address then what was the reason it was targeted?

I do not know why I watch these and whoever the zodiac was if he was in his 40s at the time he’s probably dead and I don’t believe this will ever be solved unless a family member finds absolute proof and reports it, I read somewhere it may be SpongeBob do we know if he has been questioned and or debunked
