I think he was taken out of the area. Whether it was to raise him or kill him we may never know unfortunately. They would have found something in all this time if it were just a tragic accident.
Sounds like the police did the exact opposite of what they should have done. Everybody ran off on a wild goose chase while the one thing that might have helped was ignored. I did get a good laugh out of that "Bassett hound." 🤣
