Opened the house to the public so they could witness what happened?!? What kind of ass backwards stunt is that?

my grandfather was an associate pastor of some sort at first baptist when this occurred. 6 months after this, he moved his whole family across the county to start a new life because he was terrified of CA Roberts & he went to his grave believing without a doubt that CA killed the Sims family. this case has haunted me my entire life.

For my money, the killers were almost certainly Mary Charles LaJoie and Vernon Fox Jr. Mary knew way too much about the murders when she spoke to the police in the 80s and there were indications she was furious with Joy because Vernon allegedly was a peeping tom and had something like a crush on her. Additionally, Mary missed classes the Monday after the murders and according to Jeremy Mutz, she also drew a perfect floorplan of the home in 1966-7, which she couldn't have done if she hadn't been inside. None of that would stand up in court, of course, but IMO, those monsters got away with murder.

A granny knot is anything but sophisticated. There is no variation of that knot, either. It might be helpful to know just what kind of knot was used, because they are often associated with skilled labor.

My dad tells me this alot, whether it’s a gun pointed at you or a knife at your back DON’T GET IN THEIR CAR. Your chances of survival are far from guaranteed but nevertheless infinitely higher than if you let them get you into a relatively secluded and captivity-optimized enclosed space like a vehicle

People didn't know that back then and they were probably told it was a robbery. Could call it a lesson from '69.

Without viewing the autopsy documents it's near impossible to say anything with certainty. On the surface, I'd say Joy was the primary target and the offender was a solo local teenager who possessed both a firearm and a hunting-type knife. I'd be looking at near-by teenagers, namely local teen Thomas Arthur Fulghum, he lived about a block away and was nowhere to be found when the police canvassed the neighborhood right after the event...

The knots. Were they like Boy Scouts or Fishermans knots? Did they follow that?

The gal whose hobby was to break into funeral homes, then sleep there and steal burial shrouds is a stand out strange person for sure, not sure that aligns with the murders but very strange indeed. Whomever killed the family, stalked them and planed it meticulously right down to the day they knew everyone would be watching the game. That all appears to be targeting this specific family then for reasons unknown, I would suspect someone possibly hired a hit man to silence them and the pastor is the only one mentioned with a motive

Like so many other crime scenes before it, this one was also contaminated by well meaning people.
I suspect the surviving member of the family knew way more than she let on, why call the coroner when the police were a much better option?

Would be interesting. If you could do a story on Tom and Janet Martin. Who were newlyweds they went missing in. 1963 after their wedding reception. They are on RUclips Home movie of them unwrapping wedding gifts. I’d be interested in your view on that disappearance.

I’d say the young couple down the street. Were the ones behind the murders. The photo of the young couple together. Says a lot about the young guy his eyes are angry and cold.

I feel that the Pastor fits the bill for being a prime suspect. Just my take but he seems pretty solid. I'm not 100% tho. Maybe 80-90% but not 100%
