    After watching the documentary on this case, that included tons and tons of footage of him interacting with other people, it was pretty clear that not only is he an extremely skilled liar and a manipulator, but he seems to go way out of his way to always appear upbeat, friendly, warm, funny, mild mannered and unassuming. He seems to be trying way too hard to be likable, and to win everybody over all the time. Unfortunately, it also appears to work very well. I'm not buying the act. He was an arrogant jerk, you can see even in The Staircase documentary made in his favor. What a family to be raised in. The sons were (and still seem to be) douchebags. I guess he figured that he got away with it the first time, that he’d just do the same thing again. He strikes me as a very angry person who has learned how to cover his anger face, with the kind, funny, easy going, and likable one, which he has trained himself to master-but it will always slip under extreme pressure and anger-and eventually it will come out. He is very convincing isn’t he? Most sociopaths are . They are very skilled at fooling people, and learn early on what to do and say to be liked and believed by others. It is very important to people like him to be liked. But no matter how it’s looked at, he is definitely a liar. The owl theory is very interesting, but no. I do believe it can happen and has happened, but not in this case. That calm and friendly demeanor he’s mastered gets on my last nerve.No one is that calm and cheerful when they are being accused of murder!He is unstable and I think he has uncontrollable anger issues, and when he blew his top once before, it was that poor woman who got to see his real face for the first and last time before he killed her. And his wife suffered the same fate. I can see his real face at times under the mask he wears. If you really pay attention to it, violent people will show that evil face, very briefly. But when you catch it? You can bet on it that this is the true person. If you really pay attention to someone like that, who is put under pressure and is getting angry and trying to hide it , you will see their true self, just for a moment, but that’s all you need to know who they really are-and while it’s very disturbing and scary to witness, sit back and watch this man and see. Watch when he’s getting angry. Watch as they are pressuring him - like I said, it’s so brief, but it’s there. THAT is the real Michael Peterson. Thank you for posting

I think he wrapped the towel around her head at the start of the attack. And that's what broke something in her neck that is conducive with being hung or choked. And he slammed her head repeatedly into the stairs. The towel wrapped around her head mitigated the splatter. And when she finally died he unwrapped the towel from around her head and face and place it under her head.

Katherine didn’t even fall down supposedly that many steps..He got away with it the first time and his instinct to survive just kicked in and he did it again- he may have looked at Katherine’s face and saw the other woman’s face as he did it..There have been so many cases of people killing their first spouse- declared an accident…years later killing the next spouse- but this time they get caught and 1st murder investigated- ex. Ask yourself how rare it is for someone to die by a fall down the stairs, then try to consider the chances of that happening to two of someone's wives. In ways that benefit him directly no less. It's possible but so improbable as to be near negligible. Dying by falling down the stairs isn't particularly rare. It averages around 12k people in the US per year, which is around the same number as things like skin cancer, ovarian cancer, and oral cancers, as well as more than things like drug-use related deaths, drownings, and HIV/AIDS.
      In fact, accidental falls of any kind account for roughly 15% of all accidental deaths per year, second only to motor vehicle accidents. So, you saying it's rare is simply incorrect. It's also not a statistical anomaly that he knows two people who died in a similar manner. He was an older guy who came into contact with many people over his lifetime. It would be uncommon if a young child, who hadn't met many people, ended up in contact with two people who died in similar mysterious circumstances. But for someone who was pushing 60 at the time of the second incident, for something that is relatively common? Not an anomaly. Correlation does not imply causation.

    The documentary on Netflix was fascinating. For me, it was the volume of blood in the staircase. Who slips and tumbles downstairs causing that volume of blood!!! (If any at all?) No amount of reenactment could even make that fit. We don’t need an expert to explain why it didn’t make sense either. For most of us common sense could be used. Bumps, scrapes, broken back or neck - perhaps; but liters of blood sprayed and smeared violently up the entire walls near bottom of the stairwell seemed preposterous. I also found it crazy he was able to live in the house with the crime scene still fully intact? I was surprised that was allowed? Potentially able to get rid of further evidence or modify the scene further as the investigation was continually ongoing. . He casually would walk past the blood sprayed stairwell several times daily for months. His bizarre, fake over the top behavior came off as wooden and cringy. His unwavering support from his children despite the damning evidence, I found unsettling too. No one wants to believe a parent could murder your mother, but I started to feel bad for the deceased, when her own children didn’t seem to help support the facts and fight for her true justice.

    The Prosecution's entire position is based on those skull fractures. That's all they have. And its just a common common misconception that people can't get what appears to be blunt force wounds from a simple fall down the stairs - and that nobody would bleed out that uncontrollably. But neither of those assumptions are at all accurate. Just look at the more recent Bob Saget case. He is the perfect example of what I'm talking about with the head injuries. Same kind of far reaching and disparate injuries and fractures from one simple fall. It happens literally all the time. There is just way too much reasonable doubt and zero physical or forensic evidence that meets the State's burdon. It's pretty scary that a clear cut and dry not guilty verdict can be so recklessly abandoned on literally no actual evidence at all. Just a fundamental disagreement about a common misconception

    • @Johnbender
      @Johnbender Год назад +1

      Saget case is a horrible comparison, his autopsy records have been blocked by a judge. And it's not a common misconception lol, you're grossly misrepresenting.
      "The skeletal blunt force trauma resulting from fatal falls involving stairs is complex. There are countless ways an individual may fall when stairs are involved, and thus a variety of ways the skeleton may fracture. Therefore anecdotally, it may be said that there is no specific skeletal trauma characteristic of this fall type."
      Before you blow your top, I lean towards guilty. However, the evidence presented by the defense does present validities, despite what my perception of Michael Peterson is.

    Most ppl here haven’t actually gone through & read ANY of the real evidence. Woman in Germany died of a brain aneurysm, was at the top of the stairs when it ruptured. Naturally she fell downward, neighbor went next door to her friend MP for help, & he called EMS. He wasn’t even there, 4 pathologists ruled it exactly the same-natural, aneurysm. KP had ZERO blunt force injuries, blood was only located on bottom 3 steps. Indicative that she couldn’t have fallen or been pushed down the stairs. Barred owls attack hundreds of ppl nationwide, bc they actually have pretty shotty vision & grab stuff w/out knowing what it is. The little marks around her eyebrows line up with the front claw of talons, as do the slash marks on her skull. Owl experts were never allowed to testify to any of this bc the judge disallowed most of the important evidence the defense found, & to this day-the judge regrets allowing a lot of what the state said was “evidence.” Which includes the “gay escort motive theory” & the autopsy & death in MP’s past. Among other “e viviré de” & slanderous accusations that were testified to! Also, owl theory didn’t come to light til AFTER MP took the Alford plea, but if it had, I believe the outcome would’ve been very different. NOT TO MENTION-the “blood expert” who falsified his credentials and most, if not all, of what he said was utter bs! Even the blood expert that he claims he idolized called him out as being dead WRONG. He not only f***ed up this trial, but many others bc he was a conman who wasn’t even trained in the fields he claimed to be. There’s a whole ass tv series about him calling him out as being a liar & how many appeals he caused across the many states he testified for!!
    I implore all of you, read the evidence for yourselves!!! I too thought MP was guilt af, but when I looked into the real evidence, appeals documents, autopsy findings & photos, & all the sensational crap said by the state-there’s just no way their theory (actually theories, they changed weapons & motives mid trial) makes any sense. Blood in pics is not dry-blood is brown when it’s very dry. You can hear KP moan in 911 call-as in she was still alive & conscious. EMA states blood was still wet, but after the cops & DA threatened most of them, they either falsely testified that it was dry when they got there, couldn’t remember, or just refused to testify. Facts-cops screwed up this crime scene by not locking it down for hours and never exploring any other theories bc they had a long-running vendetta against the Peterson’s bc he wrote about police corruption in the papers-& just like Jon-Benet, we will most likely always have our own theories and NEVER know what truly happened bc of that!! Seriously though, Southern Fries True Crime has. 4-part series about 5-6 hrs total. 3-4 w/out the final episode (which is about only the media about MP & not facts of the case) but it’s very unbiased. It’s trial transcripts, autopay findings, etc. and not opinions based. A must listen if you actually want truth & not just confirmation biased reporting!! But I doubt that the majority actually care about truth.

A lot of people need to relook at how irresponsible the prosecution team were about this whole case. The motives imo are trash, and they made a huge deal of the poker that is flimsy and did not have Kathleen’s blood on it. Worst of all, the investigation team didn’t bother to communicate about the location of the poker and when you find out it was in the garage for months collecting dust, pictured there untouched, the main weapon lost the credibility of the prosecution’s case.

    I don't think Kathleen simply fell down the stairs, or was beaten to death at the bottom of the stairs. The scene and her injuries don't really support either theory. My theory is, she was rendered immobile (strangulation perhaps) in another part of property, perhaps outside which would explain the boots on feet. She was then moved to the bottom of the stairs. The scene and her injuries were then manipulated to make it look like a fall down the stairs had taken place, including repeatably banging the back of her head against a stair or the wall. This would also explain the lack of blood splatter you would see had her head been hit multiple times with an object (blood would be high up on walls and on the ceiling). You then have to wonder whether Elizabeth's death, which I don't think was murder, acted as a kind of inspiration.

She stumbled back into the house and then fell down the stairs trying to go up to treat her extreme wounds. That would explain the deep lacerations all over her head as well as the two owl feathers clutched in her dead hand.
    I mean...he PROBABLY murdered her, but the owl theory was enough to leave me with doubts.

      The owl theory fits the evidence better than a blowpoke or a mere fall! The claw shaped lacerations that didn't include skull fractures? Owl feathers found on her body? I honestly see no holes in it!

    All you gotta do is look at the crime scene photos. It was OBVIOUSLY redrum. She was beaten and strangled then allowed to bleed out. You don’t bleed like that or break your hyoid bone by falling down the stairs or being attacked by an owl. I cannot believe so much time, money, and energy were spent freeing this monster who did in his first wife the same way. He even screwed over that idiotic French reporter, Sophie Brunet. He left her 3 days after he went to Paris with her. He is such a manipulative monster, and so many people fell for it.

    He so obviously murdered Kathleen. It is not even in question. I watched most releases on this case, and there is no way injuries like hers even remotely happen from falling down the stairs. Broken bone, sure, even a broken neck, but punctured skin and blood spatter everywhere? Not even close. Even if the stairs had small spikes, that would not happen. She found his secret, he wanted her gone and to take the remaining cash. His written fiction drafts and books are just icing on the cake of his guilt.

    Especially when it comes to something as serious as murder, if it can’t be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, then the person should go free no matter how convinced we are of their guilt. There is a reason that “innocent until proven guilty” is the foundation of our justice system. But that is slowly being replaced by a “think of the children“ mentality, and the end result of this is going to be many more innocent people behind bars for things that they didn’t do.

    • @kate2create738
      @kate2create738 Год назад +6

      Exactly, I’m noticing a lot of people’s comments demonstrates they already made their choice and it’s finalized for them. Personally, I am looking this from a fresh perspective and now that further information has been put forward that makes me doubt the prosecution’s credibility, it’s insane how many people will just throw a potential innocent person in prison for life. People need to take a step back and actually observe the evident. There is very little tying Michael to want to murder Kathleen nor do I believe there is a solid motive. She was worth more alive than dead to him, money shouldn’t be the motive as he got a chance for one of his books to be turned into a film, that is a deal set for life. As for the exposure of bisexuality, not sure if Kathleen knew but it was reported that porn printed pictures were found with Kathleen’s items in her office.
      And for how much blood was sprayed, Michael possibly could have cleaned himself up but there’s no way he had the chance to change the clothes he wore, hide it or get rid of it, in a timely manner before Kathleen was actually dead. And if he was committing the heinous crime, there’s no way these experts couldn’t find Kathleen’s on Peterson himself such as under his fingernails or somewhere on the skin. A crime that gruesome should have left something on him, like defense scratches.
      If I was a jury I would not be comfortable sentencing someone with mainly theories or a bogus blood splatter expect as the “proof.” It’s not guilty proving innocence but it’s supposed to be innocence proven guilty. If I was asked to verify if someone should be sentenced, it is a responsibility to be 100% certain the crime was committed by the defendant, and it’s messed up how many people have set firm in their bias ways and are not considering they are advocating to put an innocence person in prison.

      I watched this show years ago. I remember "blow poke"; arrogant and condescending criminal defense lawyer; gay cheating; inflated military credential and then, out of nowhere, vicious killer owl. Few murders combine all these elements. I have reasonable doubt about the owl.

    A lot of people find him guilty but there is no evidence that wasn't tied to a completely shady investigation. Easy to say he did it but I'm willing to bet if your close family member was convicted of a crime based on a completely shady investigation and investigators who committed purgers and ruined many of people's lives in the same fashion you wouldn't have a stitch of faith in the conviction either. And to find out at the end the police had pictures with the item they claimed was the murder weapon yet they kept it hidden is a tell all.

      @joshcantrell8397 Are you a doctor? The coroner? No. You are no professional. And it is almost impossible to bleed that much from falling down the stairs and "smacking your head". It is much more likely you would have internal bleeding or minor cuts on your head than to bleed that much. You sound like the kind of guy who would also want to get away with this or wished he got away with it. Maybe you hate women too. Who knows?
