1:44 correction: Elizabeth Ratliff was not Michael's ex-wife.
Do you know why Michael got custody of two children not related to him if they had biological relatives? What was Michael's motivation for killing Ratliff?
They were friends with him and his first wife. Elizabeths husband passed away, and then she did. I believe it was in her will that him and his first wife get the kids. I may be wrong but if I’m remembering it correctly that’s why
@@julesjay424 I heard somewhere he would have gotten a life insurance payout ( for the girls use supposedly)
@@lisamarie8130 he probably did get money for the girls, but unfortunately don’t think they ever saw a dime and then he married Kathleen and she supported them. I feel horrible for her daughter and all the kids. It never ceases to amaze me how one person can destroy so many lives 💔
@@lisamarie8130 her daughter took him to court, I believe Kathleen’s daughter got most of the money
They should have charged him with Bad Acting.
Watched all the documentaries and crime shows. He got busted for his secret life and killed her. She was paying for his kids college etc and in debt. He hadn’t worked or brought in financial support in over two years. He & his kids pressured her daughter out of HER house & took over. Thrilled he served time but it should have been life.
Michael bought that house. Kathleen and Kaitlyn moved in with him and his 4 kids.
So he was on financial debt but managed to pay 800k to pay for his defense?
I don't understand how anybody can be confident about what happened here. I don't get it. Nothing was proved. They should have continued investigating the scene, i.e. get a sniffer dog to look for intruder tracks.
Don't get me wrong, he's not a likeable character. Lying, narcissistic, substance abuse, male prostitutes, but we're missing too much information.
@GLayton123 Agreed.
His bloody shoe print on the seat of Kathleen's sweatpants beats any owl
was it his?
9:32 Elizabeth and Kathleen could have been twins, it’s uncanny how much they look alike.
And his ex wife Patricia, they looked like identical twins, too
It’s kind of amazing… how similar the two wives were in their looks and also in the way they died.😕
The first woman was a neighbor not a wife.

No coincidence here
Curious how similar the killers look too. Hmmmm....
After watching the documentary on this case, that included tons and tons of footage of him interacting with other people, it was pretty clear that not only is he an extremely skilled liar and a manipulator, but he seems to go way out of his way to always appear upbeat, friendly, warm, funny, mild mannered and unassuming. He seems to be trying way too hard to be likable, and to win everybody over all the time. Unfortunately, it also appears to work very well. I'm not buying the act. I've seen people just like him before.
If you watch the updated version of the doc he says he lied and Kathleen didn’t know he was bi-sexual
Typical osychopath .

I watched the documentary, and towards the end when reading the coroner's report in court, they quickly mention that Kathleen's hyoid was broken. It's not mentioned again, but that means that she was strangled first. The man is so guilty.
Wow , why has no one picked up on this ??!!!
If you hit the stairs in a weird way going down it could have been crushed

I think they show him strangle her in the Colin Firth series. They re-enact each theory and the final re-enactment scene is pretty much what happened. She used his computer, found emails from an escort, flipped out on MP, said she was leaving him, and he lost all control. First strangling then beating.
One man first on the scene of TWO women who died “falling down stairs”, and he’s innocent huh? Yeah SURE thing. It’s absolutely preposterous
He wasn't first on the scene at the first brain haermorrage accident.
Wife saw his online interactions & finance problems. Confronted him about it & he snapped, pushed her down the stairs. Just my opinion.
That's exactly what happened
Probably exactly how it happened to the first woman too
Also, he definitely smashed them with something after the falls.
. likely she was. Murdered as she tried to flee up the stairs... He's so guilty
Besides, he's done it once before and got away with it.
Honestly, you've gotta really drop the ball as a prosecutor to not be able to nail this case. He is so obviously guilty.
He planted the owl feather in her hand obviously, and didn’t the star witness for the defense lie about absolutely everything which is why he got a new trial, or was that made up like the owl theory?
Literally no direct evidence against Michael. Everything was circumstantial. Not to mention the blood spatter “experts” for the state were frauds, lied, and committed perjury.
Owl in trenchcoat? 🤔 Suspicious
@@CourtneyHammett You caught me.
There was no evidence of anything really, so the fact that they got this far (even though it was through lying and cheating) is quite impressive.

He killed both of them, funny how much these 2 women looked alike, and murdered in exactly the same way, Dont have to be a rocket scientist to figure this one out! He should rot in prison!
Right! He did it and got away with it.
They look like the same woman, and eerily similar injuries.
He did NOT kill them
What most likely happened... He murdered her.

She fell down the stairs sounds like the dog ate my homework for murderers
Omg, lolll😂
What is with dudes with the last name Peterson murdered their spouse? At least 3 I can think of.
Sick right!!?
I believe Peterson is a very common name
Rule of thumb, don't date a Peterson man without vetting!
And he is a bad actor in that fake 911 call.
That's the part that always got me. A former Marine officer with combat experience in that kind of panic in an emergency? Not buying it. That, plus his immediate claim in that call that she fell down the stairs. I think any normal thinking person would see that and think she'd been attacked by an intruder.
It always struck me very odd that 2 women died In exactly the same circumstances. I don’t believe in co incidences. I think it’s a pattern! When I heard the owl theory I just shook my head.. absolutely ridiculous!
You have common sense. That’s good!
The first woman's death was nothing like Kathleen's! The investigation was done with a bias investigator for the proceution team! This should have been done by a 3rd party that both the prosecution and defense team agreed to. I blame the judge for that! The original investigation showed no lacerations and very little blood.

He got away with the first murder, and what so often happens - he thinks he will ger away with one more
I think it’s super weird that he adopted the Ratliff girls. They had family that wanted them. He later tried to send a young Martha to her relatives at some point, because he didn’t like her; I don’t remember how that was resolved, but she stayed put. He was an arrogant jerk, you can see even in The Staircase documentary made in his favor. What a family to be raised in. The sons were (and still seem to be) douchebags. Todd turned on him in the last few years also seemed to spiral into serious depression and erratic behavior. IIRC, Todd released a video a couple years go, in which be claimed Michael let his ex-wife, Patricia, Todd’s mom, die in front of him, refusing to call for help, in order to get at her money.

Also...Never get with a guy whose last name is Peterson. Too many women go missing or die by the hands of a Peterson man.
First lady who falls to her death at the bottom of the stairs looks just like Kathleen - same shape of face, same chin, same eye set, same hairdo it's mindboggling - and he was nothing but a narcissist storyteller (shitty ones at that) he was a little man who thought the world of himself, but he was in fact a liar and a con man who nearly got away with 2 murders... I watch the series and I could tell at the very very end all those who had been routing for him for decades - his very own step girls seemed to be having second thoughts on the death of their own mother - what a horrific little man nothing but destruction and pain is always left behind HIM!!!!
I have not watched the series as closely as you. But I do think he’s a narcissist. And when you’re the child of a narcissist, you have been living in their world your whole life, so it’s hard to see reality. I feel sorry for his children. There’s a video on RUclips of his son. It’s very telling.
@@katrinat.3032 I 100% agree, my heart breaks for his 4 children -HE may have been behind bars but his poor children suffered as much as he did - if not more, he truly ripped apart a strong loving family, simply devastating!
If you declare he's innocent then you must overlook many coincidences and glaring inconsistencies.
It's one thing if EMTs show up and it all adds up with the scene and his story afterwards. It's another when wine 🍷 glasses are placed, time of death is off, blood was cleaned, injuries observed during autopsy are conclusively blunt trauma. 🤔
I'll never understand why "wiping the wine glasses" (because they had no fingerprints on them) was somehow an indication of his guilt.
Michael ADMITTED he and Kathleen drank wine that night! That was right there in the first iteration of his story. Who the hell knows why their prints weren't found on the glasses, but how is that possibly evidence?
I believe he did it, but I also see numerous examples where the police and prosecutor were sloppy and wrong.
@@lizfinkelstein1323 There doesn't have to be a fingerprint on a glass when you touch it. Moreover they couldn't find hers what means that there can be some prints on it that couldn't be fully identified as hers.

Coincidences aren’t evidence of guilt in a court of law
The fact that people think an owl attack is more likely to have occured than a drunken quarrel between spouces after the wife confronted the husband about his secret gay lifestyle.....
The “missing murder weapon” was a big red herring but it did serve to confuse the case, which the prosecution is directly responsible for. They interpreted the scene incorrectly from the start.

He should have been charged and convicted for Ratcliffs murder as well…two women who look like twins, both had that scumbag in their lives, both had the exact same wounds on their heads, both found at the bottom of the stairs but “I’m innocent”…..yeah, okay Mike!!
Oh, and, I guess she smashed the back of her head into the walls 7 times on the way down and so hard that she had skull fractures….
I guess he figured that he got away with it the first time, that he’d just do the same thing again. He strikes me as a very angry person who has learned how to cover his anger face, with the kind, funny, easy going, and likable one, which he has trained himself to master-but it will always slip under extreme pressure and anger-and eventually it will come out. He is very convincing isn’t he? Most sociopaths are . They are very skilled at fooling people, and learn early on what to do and say to be liked and believed by others. It is very important to people like him to be liked. But no matter how it’s looked at, he is definitely a liar. The owl theory is very interesting, but no. I do believe it can happen and has happened, but not in this case. That calm and friendly demeanor he’s mastered gets on my last nerve. No one is that calm and cheerful when they are being accused of murder! He is unstable and I think he has uncontrollable anger issues, and when he blew his top once before, it was that poor woman who got to see his real face for the first and last time before he killed her. And his wife suffered the same fate. I can see his real face at times under the mask he wears. If you really pay attention to it, violent people will show that evil face, very briefly. But when you catch it? You can bet on it that this is the true person. If you really pay attention to someone like that, who is put under pressure and is getting angry and trying to hide it , you will see their true self, just for a moment, but that’s all you need to know who they really are-and while it’s very disturbing and scary to witness, sit back and watch this man and see. Watch when he’s getting angry. Watch as they are pressuring him - like I said, it’s so brief, but it’s there. THAT is the real Michael Peterson. Thank you for posting
But wasn't a huge part of the case the fact that she didn't have any skull fractures? I'm not saying he's innocent, but I remember from watching the show that a huge part of the defense argument was that she didn't have any skull fractures, meaning it couldn't have been a beating.
Leave a comment with what YOU think happened!
He lied about her still breathing on the first 911. He didn't attempt CPR. Apparently he went upstairs to his computer while EMTs were trying to save his wife. He spent time before he called rearranging things. All circumstantial but clearly points to guilt.

The condensed version here is absent of key details and biased.
I was duped into Watching the longest docu of my life lol. I was still not convinced of his innocence
There was no blowpoke. He just slammed her head into the edge of the stairs repeatedly, hence the spatter.
That's exactly what I think he did. And he said that he went upstairs to get a towel to lay under her head. He's lying about the towel. It was a weapon. I think he wrapped the towel around her head at the start of the attack. And that's what broke something in her neck that is conducive with being hung or choked. And he slammed her head repeatedly into the stairs. The towel wrapped around her head mitigated the splatter. And when she finally died he unwrapped the towel from around her head and face and place it under her head.
I read a few books about this. The first one was fairly soon after his second wife died. It focused, and detailed what happened with the woman in Germany, ( the Mother of the daughters he adopted). Frankly If only “the money” is considered, he killed both women. That’s just my opinion.
Sure, but he didn't get any money from Elizabeth Ratliff's death; on the contrary, he was now on the hook to raise two additional children.

It's all just an amazing series of coincid... Nope, can't do it. Peterson killed them both. Since he got away with it once, and so far away, he thought he could get away with it again.
Watched this case as it aired on Court Tv..my main interest was the cause of death- years earlier I had slipped and fallen and fell backwards hitting my head hard on cement curb and then the blacktop..I sustained a large bump, no outward blood but did hit hard enough to Traumatic brain injury…..then a number of years later, I fell straight forward down 13 wooden ( not carpet) steps and hitting the tiled floor- again large bump in same area on head, and small cut. Katherine didn’t even fall down supposedly that many steps..He got away with it the first time and his instinct to survive just kicked in and he did it again- he may have looked at Katherine’s face and saw the other woman’s face as he did it..There have been so many cases of people killing their first spouse- declared an accident…years later killing the next spouse- but this time they get caught and 1st murder investigated- ex. Ask yourself how rare it is for someone to die by a fall down the stairs, then try to consider the chances of that happening to two of someone's wives. In ways that benefit him directly no less. It's possible but so improbable as to be near negligible. On top of that also consider that Peterson remained completely silent about the previous exact same scenario until it was brought to light by investigators. You end up in that 99.99% range of guilt. Reasonable doubt just sailed out the window.
Bingo.
The first woman wasn’t Peterson’s wife. She was someone he and his wife knew.
the 1st one was a close friend, not his wife. But its possible they were lovers.
Dying by falling down the stairs isn't particularly rare. It averages around 12k people in the US per year, which is around the same number as things like skin cancer, ovarian cancer, and oral cancers, as well as more than things like drug-use related deaths, drownings, and HIV/AIDS.
In fact, accidental falls of any kind account for roughly 15% of all accidental deaths per year, second only to motor vehicle accidents. So, you saying it's rare is simply incorrect. It's also not a statistical anomaly that he knows two people who died in a similar manner. He was an older guy who came into contact with many people over his lifetime. It would be uncommon if a young child, who hadn't met many people, ended up in contact with two people who died in similar mysterious circumstances. But for someone who was pushing 60 at the time of the second incident, for something that is relatively common? Not an anomaly. Correlation does not imply causation.
@@giovannifitzpatrick1987 Now add the age range of the staircase fall deaths.

His demeanor reminds me of Dr Jeff MacDonald who was sentenced to life after being found guilty of murdering his wife and two very young daughters at an army base. Their blithe affect doesn’t match the gravity of what they are accused of. They appear to be cold, heartless, and calculated psychopaths trying to look innocent and unassuming.
And MacDonald’s wife Colleen was pregnant at the time of her murder.
Radcliff’s daughter looks surprisingly like Peterson. Perhaps that’s why he killed her as she was going to tell. He also adopted the girls which is very unusual.
As far as I’m aware that is just a coincidence, as I think DNA tests were carried out and they are not related.
@@maireadnic8280they also didn't meet until the girls were young kids
It is incredibly hard to judge 911 calls but two things stood out to me: he is seemingly distressed and hyper-ventilating until calling out the address, which is calm- and when she asks him 'how many stairs.' He didn't expect that question. You can hear his brain stutter because he had rehearsed the call in his mind but that strange question, he didn't expect. He pauses, he feigns exasperation but the hysteria, it is gone in that moment. Then all the rest What if ..they were NEVER outside. I don't know why THIS is not discussed. The WHOLE story is MICHAEL'S story. And he says he was outside because it alibis him in the only way a man established to be home CAN be alibied. "I was outside." In my shorts. By an empty pool. For 2 hours. The timeline!. Drinking until 2am when she has a meeting? Why didn't she open the files email?
I imagine the owl flying around with a fire poker smashing skulls and flying away. And then coming back later to hide the murder weapon in the basement. Dang owl! Hoooooooo
If you look up the reenactments made for "The Staircase" HBO show (they're on here somewhere) you'd get it. Owl was never indoors. If it was there at all.
They found the blow poke untouched. It was in the garage the whole time. So no he didn’t beat her with a fire poker.
guilty as sin
The documentary on Netflix was fascinating. For me, it was the volume of blood in the staircase. Who slips and tumbles downstairs causing that volume of blood!!! (If any at all?) No amount of reenactment could even make that fit. We don’t need an expert to explain why it didn’t make sense either. For most of us common sense could be used. Bumps, scrapes, broken back or neck - perhaps; but liters of blood sprayed and smeared violently up the entire walls near bottom of the stairwell seemed preposterous. I also found it crazy he was able to live in the house with the crime scene still fully intact? I was surprised that was allowed? Potentially able to get rid of further evidence or modify the scene further as the investigation was continually ongoing. . He casually would walk past the blood sprayed stairwell several times daily for months. His bizarre, fake over the top behavior came off as wooden and cringy. His unwavering support from his children despite the damning evidence, I found unsettling too. No one wants to believe a parent could murder your mother, but I started to feel bad for the deceased, when her own children didn’t seem to help support the facts and fight for her true justice.
agree with you about the children, especially the 2 adopted dauhghters, it was disgusting how they were laughing about the whole situation with their mother in Germany.....they cant be so dumb to support this man after that. It was so pathetic to watch them cry for him... they obviously didnt care about their bilogical mother
I’ve watched the documentary at least 10 times or more. I do believe he’s guilty. I think Kathleen found out about it and also realized he was taking advantage of her and she was the main income source. I don’t believe that Ratliff was a coincidence. Funny how he was the last person with both woman to see them alive. Very Sus to me…..
I’ve always thought Michael was guilty.
I notice u didn’t mention that her wounds on his second wife’s head were not consistent with blows on the head. The most bizarre thing about the case is that the cause of death was loss of blood. The wounds were slashes to the scalp with not damage at all to her scull. I honestly don’t know if he’s guilty at all. But, I don’t know how to explain how exactly she was killed.
She had been drinking and had Valium in her system which makes your blood a lot thinner and the first woman wasn’t his wife but a friend of the family
The Prosecution's entire position is based on those skull fractures. That's all they have. And its just a common common misconception that people can't get what appears to be blunt force wounds from a simple fall down the stairs - and that nobody would bleed out that uncontrollably. But neither of those assumptions are at all accurate. Just look at the more recent Bob Saget case. He is the perfect example of what I'm talking about with the head injuries. Same kind of far reaching and disparate injuries and fractures from one simple fall. It happens literally all the time. There is just way too much reasonable doubt and zero physical or forensic evidence that meets the State's burdon. It's pretty scary that a clear cut and dry not guilty verdict can be so recklessly abandoned on literally no actual evidence at all. Just a fundamental disagreement about a common misconception
Saget case is a horrible comparison, his autopsy records have been blocked by a judge. And it's not a common misconception lol, you're grossly misrepresenting.
"The skeletal blunt force trauma resulting from fatal falls involving stairs is complex. There are countless ways an individual may fall when stairs are involved, and thus a variety of ways the skeleton may fracture. Therefore anecdotally, it may be said that there is no specific skeletal trauma characteristic of this fall type."
Before you blow your top, I lean towards guilty. However, the evidence presented by the defense does present validities, despite what my perception of Michael Peterson is.
Honestly, when they brought up the stair thing happened to him before... he lost me 🤷♀️
Most ppl here haven’t actually gone through & read ANY of the real evidence. Woman in Germany died of a brain aneurysm, was at the top of the stairs when it ruptured. Naturally she fell downward, neighbor went next door to her friend MP for help, & he called EMS. He wasn’t even there, 4 pathologists ruled it exactly the same-natural, aneurysm. KP had ZERO blunt force injuries, blood was only located on bottom 3 steps. Indicative that she couldn’t have fallen or been pushed down the stairs. Barred owls attack hundreds of ppl nationwide, bc they actually have pretty shotty vision & grab stuff w/out knowing what it is. The little marks around her eyebrows line up with the front claw of talons, as do the slash marks on her skull. Owl experts were never allowed to testify to any of this bc the judge disallowed most of the important evidence the defense found, & to this day-the judge regrets allowing a lot of what the state said was “evidence.” Which includes the “gay escort motive theory” & the autopsy & death in MP’s past. Among other “e viviré de” & slanderous accusations that were testified to! Also, owl theory didn’t come to light til AFTER MP took the Alford plea, but if it had, I believe the outcome would’ve been very different. NOT TO MENTION-the “blood expert” who falsified his credentials and most, if not all, of what he said was utter bs! Even the blood expert that he claims he idolized called him out as being dead WRONG. He not only f***ed up this trial, but many others bc he was a conman who wasn’t even trained in the fields he claimed to be. There’s a whole ass tv series about him calling him out as being a liar & how many appeals he caused across the many states he testified for!!
I implore all of you, read the evidence for yourselves!!! I too thought MP was guilt af, but when I looked into the real evidence, appeals documents, autopsy findings & photos, & all the sensational crap said by the state-there’s just no way their theory (actually theories, they changed weapons & motives mid trial) makes any sense. Blood in pics is not dry-blood is brown when it’s very dry. You can hear KP moan in 911 call-as in she was still alive & conscious. EMA states blood was still wet, but after the cops & DA threatened most of them, they either falsely testified that it was dry when they got there, couldn’t remember, or just refused to testify. Facts-cops screwed up this crime scene by not locking it down for hours and never exploring any other theories bc they had a long-running vendetta against the Peterson’s bc he wrote about police corruption in the papers-& just like Jon-Benet, we will most likely always have our own theories and NEVER know what truly happened bc of that!! Seriously though, Southern Fries True Crime has. 4-part series about 5-6 hrs total. 3-4 w/out the final episode (which is about only the media about MP & not facts of the case) but it’s very unbiased. It’s trial transcripts, autopay findings, etc. and not opinions based. A must listen if you actually want truth & not just confirmation biased reporting!! But I doubt that the majority actually care about truth.
Hi Mike
Exactly
Facts
I’m glad someone here has actually paid attention to the evidence instead of jumping on the bandwagon.
Looking at this from a fresh perspective and I can say with confidence the owl theory strangely makes the most sense as it actually matches with the evidence. A lot of people need to relook at how irresponsible the prosecution team were about this whole case. The motives imo are trash, and they made a huge deal of the poker that is flimsy and did not have Kathleen’s blood on it. Worst of all, the investigation team didn’t bother to communicate about the location of the poker and when you find out it was in the garage for months collecting dust, pictured there untouched, the main weapon lost the credibility of the prosecution’s case.
he took his shoes off . and tried to clean up the scene.
Not to be confused with Mr Scott Peterson...
One of the saddest parts about this case is how mindlessly devoted Michael’s adopted daughters Martha and Margaret are. I’ve seen the documentary The Staircase twice now, and it’s very off putting and sad how fiercely they defend him. In their eyes he simply can’t be guilty. Can you imagine if he really did kill their mother? they are none the wiser. He has successfully brainwashed them into trusting and supporting him without question.
I thought it was very creepy, the way they worshipped him, it was sycophantic, cult like.
@@cwells5576 Oh I completely agree! It was very creepy...they never let themselves even consider the fact that he could've done it. He can do no wrong in their eyes.
She was bludgeoned to death , i fell down a flight of oak staircase and never bled just bruised
Based on that evidence nobody has ever died falling down stairs.
People fall down stairs and die all the time. I was hit by a car in 2014, badly injured, but I didn’t die. By that logic, would that mean that car accidents can’t be deadly?
@@nickcharles6530 did you see the woman's skull? That was no way a staircase head injury , it was a bludgeoning
@@MicovskiMC I thought she had just fell and cracked her head until I seen how much blood and everything there was in the stairwell, she also would have had to of hit her head very, very hard on about 5 step edges on the way down as the blood was even on the ceiling of the stairwell which dosent happen by merely banging your head on stairs, it was up the walls, on the ceiling and it looked more like a murder scene than just an accident, I have elderly parents and they both have fallen hitting their heads causing cuts that have needed stitching yet they have never bled out like this lady did, she was absolutely covered in blood from head to toe and I really don't think that a simple fall would do that to somebody, a fall can easily kill that's for sure but this just looked very wrong!
@quantumleaper8396 The owl did it bro. Get over it.
He killed her.
How did an owl get in the house and nobody see it or hear her screaming? Jury was swayed by Michael famous lawyer.
He killed his wife and his children are idiots 🙄
How about some links to sources for this video? Especially regarding the "little fact" at the end?
What happened...HE KILLED THEM! DUH!
Throughout everything why hasn’t ANYONE ever required Michael Peterson to answer WHY he hung up on 911 (then called back)???…that’s very odd and significant to not require any explanation
Edit: 12:09 - this may answer my question.
Attacked by an owl? I find it hard to believe. It's hard to say he killed Kathleen because he's so convincing? The only thing leads me to believe either he or someone else attacked her on the stairs because of all the blood? I can't see that much blood from simply falling down the stairs? And those marks on her skull looks like someone bashed her head onto the floor or wall several times? If Michael didn't kill her then he probably knows who did.
I don't think Kathleen simply fell down the stairs, or was beaten to death at the bottom of the stairs. The scene and her injuries don't really support either theory. My theory is, she was rendered immobile (strangulation perhaps) in another part of property, perhaps outside which would explain the boots on feet. She was then moved to the bottom of the stairs. The scene and her injuries were then manipulated to make it look like a fall down the stairs had taken place, including repeatably banging the back of her head against a stair or the wall. This would also explain the lack of blood splatter you would see had her head been hit multiple times with an object (blood would be high up on walls and on the ceiling). You then have to wonder whether Elizabeth's death, which I don't think was murder, acted as a kind of inspiration.
The forensic files on this case I think nailed it. She was using his computer upstairs, found all his gay porn and emails with guys, confronted him, got pushed. He's guilty
The owl is the same of the harry potter movies I always have a suspicion on that owl 😂
How could anyone be crazy enough to kill 2 women the exact same way. 😮
No wife or girlfriend would be ok with their husband or boyfriend having a sexual incounter with men. I still think he killed her.
It’s ridiculous how you’re speaking for every single woman out there, like you know what they’re thinking. Just because YOU wouldn’t want YOUR husband/bf sleeping with another man does not mean all of the others of us feel exactly the same way. Stop assuming things. 🙄

@cindyrussell1581 Yeah, but she's actually right. Other people aren't you. The world is pretty damn big and diverse outside your own head.
Scott Peterson, Drew Peterson and Michael Peterson!!! That name is carrying a weird curse
Hey I’m used to hearing that voice in History Marche discussing Hannibal at Cannae. Now he’s narrating murders. awesome!
He killed them both, that’s just too big of a coincidence.
He didn’t push her down the stairs. He beat her with the poker and placed the body at the bottom of the stairs.
Except the poker was found, during his trial, it had a thick layer of dust all over it and it had been sitting there for perhaps years
Zero evidence the poke was used as a murder weapon.
He is totally guilty and got free and away with murder. I saw the documentary many times…. He did it!!!!!
(5:20) You should at least mention the original post-mortem cause of death, as determined with the fresh cadaver, before spending 17 years in the ground... (9:14) ok finally!
6:08 False information... He did not pay Wolgamott for sex "multiple times". They exchanged dirty emails, planned to meet up and eventually Walgamott canceled and they never met up.
The way he talking is one of mirroring strategy and personally i think he is a good actor, manipulator. Rip poor lady. 😢
As crazy at it sounds, I think the owl theory is interestingly compelling. Very aggressive owls were known to be living in a tree in their front yard. I think she might have been attacked by an owl when she went out front to movie the X-Mas decoration. She stumbled back into the house and then fell down the stairs trying to go up to treat her extreme wounds. That would explain the deep lacerations all over her head as well as the two owl feathers clutched in her dead hand.
I mean...he PROBABLY murdered her, but the owl theory was enough to leave me with doubts.
The owl theory fits the evidence better than a blowpoke or a mere fall! The claw shaped lacerations that didn't include skull fractures? Owl feathers found on her body? I honestly see no holes in it!
I once went with a bloke who lived in Canada....We here in Scotland see cute little robins...but he told me in Canada they were bigger and not so cute.....can say same for owls....I think she was attacked by a large owl!!
Guilty defo
This video is full of errors. And if there was no owl why was there a feather in her hand!?
All you gotta do is look at the crime scene photos. It was OBVIOUSLY redrum. She was beaten and strangled then allowed to bleed out. You don’t bleed like that or break your hyoid bone by falling down the stairs or being attacked by an owl. I cannot believe so much time, money, and energy were spent freeing this monster who did in his first wife the same way. He even screwed over that idiotic French reporter, Sophie Brunet. He left her 3 days after he went to Paris with her. He is such a manipulative monster, and so many people fell for it.
Hearing more speculation than evidence in the comments. I couldn’t convict someone because they “must” have done it.
He did it simple as
A monkey could tell he done it the American Justice system is a clown show 🤡
from the very first report through to the netflix picture...I KNEW HE WAS GUILTY !!!
I’m not sure why the video indicates Elizabeth Ratliff as Micheael’s ex-wife, as she was only a family friend
He is innocent, if you had a the experience and have acknowledge about this animals you will know that is true. Also there is microscopic evidence in their hand some microscopic feather !!!
Period. !
He so obviously murdered Kathleen. It is not even in question. I watched most releases on this case, and there is no way injuries like hers even remotely happen from falling down the stairs. Broken bone, sure, even a broken neck, but punctured skin and blood spatter everywhere? Not even close. Even if the stairs had small spikes, that would not happen. She found his secret, he wanted her gone and to take the remaining cash. His written fiction drafts and books are just icing on the cake of his guilt.
I work in a hospital and once we had a lady pass out walking down a hallway. She struck her head on a wooden handrail on the way down and it split her head right open. You could see her skull. It was gross. So it can happen. That being said, I think he did it but it can happen.
@@Fkutb1234 Fair call, good point. Thought even if the impact fractures could be explained by that example you state, I am sure the blood spatter left by your patient hugely differed from Kathleen's. Kathleen's scene was insane spatter.
I think he’s innocent !
Michael talks like he is smarter than everybody. It comes off as pretentious. And the way he tries to sound calm all the time, you can tell he is hiding something.
Two women die falling down stairs? It's too coincidental.
Coincidences happen all the damn time. That's why actual evidence needs to be considered. Otherwise non-thinkers will just say "no wayyyy" to all kinds of odd shit when it's 100% what happened.
Guilty, He killed both of them.
He Killed her! SNEEKY devil he was!
I don't have an opinion either way, but this all seems pretty circumstantial to me.
Wasn't there a theory that Hedwig did it?
Especially when it comes to something as serious as murder, if it can’t be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, then the person should go free no matter how convinced we are of their guilt. There is a reason that “innocent until proven guilty” is the foundation of our justice system. But that is slowly being replaced by a “think of the children“ mentality, and the end result of this is going to be many more innocent people behind bars for things that they didn’t do.
Exactly, I’m noticing a lot of people’s comments demonstrates they already made their choice and it’s finalized for them. Personally, I am looking this from a fresh perspective and now that further information has been put forward that makes me doubt the prosecution’s credibility, it’s insane how many people will just throw a potential innocent person in prison for life. People need to take a step back and actually observe the evident. There is very little tying Michael to want to murder Kathleen nor do I believe there is a solid motive. She was worth more alive than dead to him, money shouldn’t be the motive as he got a chance for one of his books to be turned into a film, that is a deal set for life. As for the exposure of bisexuality, not sure if Kathleen knew but it was reported that porn printed pictures were found with Kathleen’s items in her office.
And for how much blood was sprayed, Michael possibly could have cleaned himself up but there’s no way he had the chance to change the clothes he wore, hide it or get rid of it, in a timely manner before Kathleen was actually dead. And if he was committing the heinous crime, there’s no way these experts couldn’t find Kathleen’s on Peterson himself such as under his fingernails or somewhere on the skin. A crime that gruesome should have left something on him, like defense scratches.
If I was a jury I would not be comfortable sentencing someone with mainly theories or a bogus blood splatter expect as the “proof.” It’s not guilty proving innocence but it’s supposed to be innocence proven guilty. If I was asked to verify if someone should be sentenced, it is a responsibility to be 100% certain the crime was committed by the defendant, and it’s messed up how many people have set firm in their bias ways and are not considering they are advocating to put an innocence person in prison.
@@kate2create738 Exactly! So many judgy people out there who refuse to have an open mind. 🙄
Interesting and passionate comment but the standard is not "shadow of a doubt" it's "reasonable doubt". So you can convict him if you are < certain of his guilt.
I watched this show years ago. I remember "blow poke"; arrogant and condescending criminal defense lawyer; gay cheating; inflated military credential and then, out of nowhere, vicious killer owl. Few murders combine all these elements. I have reasonable doubt about the owl.
@@1rjbrjbhave you seen all of the evidence. And how it was exactly presented by the experts at trial?
@@1rjbrjb "arrogant and condescending" - you gotta take your emotional response out of it fella. It has zero business here.
A lot of people find him guilty but there is no evidence that wasn't tied to a completely shady investigation. Easy to say he did it but I'm willing to bet if your close family member was convicted of a crime based on a completely shady investigation and investigators who committed purgers and ruined many of people's lives in the same fashion you wouldn't have a stitch of faith in the conviction either. And to find out at the end the police had pictures with the item they claimed was the murder weapon yet they kept it hidden is a tell all.
Well, I'm convinced...
When your last name is Peterson, you're more likely to kill your wife.
How is smacking your head while falling down a flight of 20 stairs, not considered the same as blunt forced trauma?
@joshcantrell8397 Are you a doctor? The coroner? No. You are no professional. And it is almost impossible to bleed that much from falling down the stairs and "smacking your head". It is much more likely you would have internal bleeding or minor cuts on your head than to bleed that much. You sound like the kind of guy who would also want to get away with this or wished he got away with it. Maybe you hate women too. Who knows?
That’s one of my questions too. Not saying there aren’t things that make him seem guilty, but I wonder how stairs aren’t blunt force objects themselves.
I think there are different indentations formed by the head banging on an item, to an item forcefully banging on a head.
