    I purchased the Ender 3 Pro from Micro Center just about a month ago. There was a special coupon that made this printer $100! I couldn't resist, so I bought one. I want to see what it takes to make this Ender 3 Pro'ish into an amazing machine! First upgrades will be the Creality #CRTouch and #TH3DStudios solid bed mounts.

    Gone through 8 videos and everyone brushing past the firmware install like its the easiest thing. wtf you mean go into slicer and add g28 and g29 WHAT DOES THAT MEAN. I have a zip file with so many files on it and dont know if I should extract them or what file to use. I need a go to this site download this > extract this and put it here > use this software to go into something called slicer and add this code > take card plug into here > use pad to select this option to install firmware > ect ect

    I just got my Ender 3 Pro a month ago, brand new straight from Creality. I was surprised how seemingly oppressive Creality has become to mods compared to the older videos I've seen. They changed the power supply to a model that's a bit different, so relocating it with brackets for my dual Z axis was a challenge. Then I got to the mainboard, and that was a struggle. So much wrapping around the cables, opening the box was annoying with that third top screw right under the bed, and they literally hot glued in all the connections to the board. I was pretty shocked.

    I just bought one for the same discount at Microcenter and the thing is awesome. I've never got into 3D printing because I assumed I'd have to shell out a fortune and invest a lot of time due to a high learning curve but it's been so easy to use right out of the box. Tons of tutorials now on youtube so there's really no excuse to mess anything up. I used my girlfriends coupon but I got one coupon for myself and she wants one after seeing how awesome it is so we'll probably buy another before the sale ends. I've been playing around with modeling in Blender for the past year or two so now I can combine the two hobbies and couldn't be happier. This CR touch will probably be my next purchase although I haven't had any issues bed leveling manually so far. So far, I've had multiple prints print seemingly perfect without having to re-level the bed.

    Hey John, so I’m having some issues. I have the cr touch, purchased those things for under the bed. I’ve tightened the nuts under the bed so it doesn’t wobble but I’m still having issues getting a proper print. The left side is still higher than the right. So the filament still isn’t attaching properly to the right side as I can get the bed even when doing the z offset.
    I know it’s a lot information but I’m so stuck and haven’t been able to print a mask which is why I purchased the printer in the first place.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Older Ender 3 Pro printers have a screw on top next to the center rail that needs to be removed also They are also running an earlier board which requires an adapter board as the board like teh 1.1.4 does not have a connector for the Touch Best option is to just upgrade to a silent board

    Still watching..... (done now)
    "G28G29"? I thought they had to be on separate lines to work. Seems that was an issue on a hangout stream not long ago.
    I think there's an STL somewhere for that notch in the extrusion to cover the sharp corners. Might want to at least add some tape around the new wires to help prevent chafing.
    It might not be as well made as initial thoughts. Bit of give in the casing when you seated the plug.
    I should check if my SPACERS! came w/ that strain bracket. The OEM sits up enough that I had to carve out a "no-go" rectangle in that corner for the petsfang duct. Funny, I bought them over a yr ago and still haven't installed. Yellow springs FTW so far.

Someone mentioned the fade height and I saw mine was set to 10, so I am gonna test if that's causing an issue and if so how to turn it off. I turn it to zero but it goes right back to 10.

    My 2 cents, after wondering why the nozzle would seem too close to the bed. Make sure to heat the nozzle and the bed before starting the print or hardened filament on the nozzle you may have missed will give a bad reading when the CR Touch starts leveling. I've been printing much better since.

    Good video. Thank you.
    Question... I have an Ender 3Pro, but somehow the firmware got corrupted. It won't print anything anymore. So I would need to upgrade the firmware, but it's the old original board so there is no bootloader. Do you think it would be worth investing in a new motherboard for this box, or just wait and save up a bit more for the new Anker printer coming in the Fall? (The Anker impresses me in that it already has all the upgrades built in out of the box that I would want to put on my Ender)

    • @TripodsGarage
      @TripodsGarage  2 года назад +1

      I tried printing some of the sample prints off the included SD card and they were not completing. Then I tried flashing the firmware, to the newest for the CR Touch, and was getting some weird machine behavior. Wound up being the included SD card was faulty. At the time this video was published. I had already swapped out the stock 4.2.2 board with a BTT SKR Mini E3 v2.0, and replaced the display to the BTT TFT4.3. This machine out of the box had some issues. Also that the Ender 3 Pro no longer ships with the Meanwell PSU as it was originally advertised to have. I think the decision is for you to make. You can dump a lot of money into the Ender 3 Pro'ish printer, the final cost could even be close to a Prusa by the time you are done. I have done 3 additional upgrades that will be in future videos. Those 3 upgrades come to about an additional $200. Now, I purchased this printer for $100. At this point the printer is now a $340 printer. If you like doing upgrades over time, then go for it. If the Anker truly is what what we have see, it will be a game changer for this space. Anker is also a very well established company. However, I am not a fan of KickStarter, just because there is no guarantees of product delivery or refunds. Thanks for watching and commenting!

      @evlsc400 4 месяца назад

      You'll need to set the Z probe offset, the probe checks the distance between the bed and the nozzle and raises 10mm after that, it is relied on you to move axis: Z the nozzle after it has homed Z back to 0, this should get you close to your bed... then you drop the nozzle into the negatives (using the move axis: Z menu) with a paper under your nozzle and bed to get to that 0.1mm clearance between the bed and nozzle, once you get the correct tension of the paper against your nozzle- that is your Z probe offset the negative number on your Z axis Move screen, take that number and input it into the Z probe offset menu and save settings, hit save settings twice.
      Now when the machine homes Z with the probe, it will know to be 0.1mm from the bed from your newly input Z probe Offset value (for mine it had to be dropped -3.7mm to achieve the 0.1mm between nozzle and bed) and then the probe/nozzle will raise 10mm again. Once you start a print, it will probe the bed (G29 command in Slicer Start Gcode) and then compensate for your layer of glue stick or bed changes from thermal expansion and then lay down your first layer.
