Comparing the best speedruns with the first attempt of the run ever (which doesn't go for speed, rather viewer entertainment) is kinda to be expected 😂
You know Pointcrow, since you couldn't avoid touching white at the end, that means the 4 hours you spent avoiding snow in the cold area was completely pointless. I mean watching you suffer with those boats was funny mind you, so it wasn't pointless for us at least.
I am completely fine being wrong here, but I always viewed that part of dragon zelda as like a light cream color? Which is technically brown buuut that's just me
21:20 imagine being an NPC there. The hero that has been lost for who knows how long, falls from the sky, almost naked, and lands with less force than when you getting out of bed in the morning
When it was live there was a whole thing about the floor of the shrines either being brown or yellow, it got to the point where someone got called (I forgot who it was lol)
That's what the fade at 16:52 is for. I didn't even know that happened when I was watching this video until I saw Doug's new video on it and I was like "Oh hey, I know that layout!"
i love how you went through all those hoops to avoid touching snow at the beginning only to end up touching unavoidable white anyway on zeldragon's head during the final bossfight
I feel like, if you count Recall time as greyscale, you also have to count the Demon King's Army battle floor as red. PointCrow's rules seem to be more based on what color the thing "actually" is, not the color it "appears" to be at that moment.
this challenge wouldn't have been my cup of tea usually but holy smokes the editing saved it, this is such a fun video!! the music choices, the explanations, including all the trial and error, it's so entertaining!!
time to be a 🤓 Shield surfing, by your rules (contact with feet, link must be standing on it) counts as standing on a color good news is that i'm pretty sure all the shields you've surfed on in-recording are either wooden (brown) or savage lynel (silver/iron backing, which could be passed as either grey or white)
i told my dad about how i’ve been playing totk without fast travel. he seemed to think it was weird for me to set myself a challenge like that. i told him all about some of the challenges you’ve done, can’t wait to tell him about this one too lmao
When Eric was jumping across the rafts to make it across the snowy area, he could have just rotated the rafts to run along the long side of the trunks instead of the short side, & he wouldn’t of kept getting caught on them & ultimately taking 3 hours… 🤣🤣🤣

As predicted on stream as soon as this started, the comments are rules lawyering you to death. Fun video though!!!! Great idea and crisp editing as always
Speedrun idea: try touching the least amount of colors but every color you touch add a multiplier to the timer so putting off touching a color actually matter
Yeah kinda similar to how low% works, where the amount of colors touched has priority over speed. As well as the latest you can push the colors also having priority. So that even if this run and another that just walked on snow the whole run had the same times, this one would be higher on the leaderboard.
I would love to see one of these challenges but you complete the story where you complete each of the dungeons during the run to see what you’d need to do to complete the challenge.
Is it just me, or do all the TOTK challenges kinda follow the same pattern? Like, survive the plateau, never touch the ground again, kill all the lynels with a zuggle, be invincible with fairies, and then kill ganon. Like, I think these challenges would be so much better with an at least one dungeon requirement
well yeah because it’s one game lol. it’s gonna follow the same structure because challenge or not, they are essentially just playing the same game over and over again
Im no editing expert, but only a few minutes in and this video looks very clean, such as the lil highlights instead of big arrows and stuff like that. Its giving "Im here to plead with corporate overlords to care about something". Im getting the same satisfaction that i get from a well-made presentation in a sea of BOLD BLACK HELVETICA FRONT ON SOLID WHITE BACKGROUND WITH JPEG

It's crazy that for most of this video gray and brown were the only colors touched but at the bottom of the screen it says gray and red are the colors that have been touched lol
I really don’t like how grey BotW and TotK were and this challenge does nothing but proof my point lmao. PointCrow always manages to make challenges like these entertaining.
what's fun is he touched white for most of the game. a lot of the zonai architecture is white, as are the gravel stones he used in multiple shrines. and if he knew he was gonna have to touch white anyway, it'd have made the snow area so much easier lol
by these kinds of definitions, brown isn't a color either (it's just desaturated orange), and many cultures even consider green and blue to be the same color (using the same word for both and considering them just different shades of the same thing). color definitions are complicated and are shaped by language, and I think most English speakers agree that you can typically identify grey as a color
This video is giving me serious nostalgia when we were kids, we used to play this game called "What color", nominate the guy using stone, paper, scissor and the one who wins tells everyone what color to touch or gasp in 5 seconds. after 5 seconds the guy would chase the one who's not holding the said color, if caught the guy not holding the color would lose

@Gamer3427 that's fair I completely forgot about the predominantly part of the rule
While the goal was to touch as few colors as possible, it also seems like a win to delay adding a color for as long as possible.
This feels like when I was a kid at the mall jumping from gray tile to other gray tiles to avoid touching the white tiles lmao
