    Exactly what I am doing without good results so I think I will add some extra steps for myself:
    - Go back to a firmware without auto leveling
    - do the usual old fashioned bed leveling
    - confirm leveling with some printing test
    - change to firmware with auto leveling and negative Z limit
    - do auto level
    - continue your step of findind the distance my nozzle touches the bed
    What I haven;t tried of your video: heat the bed (I will try this too)
    I hope to get good results

      Hi, I'm sorry you are having some issues with the bed leveling. I hope this works for you, I also have a full video about how to install the CR touch from scratch which you can skip to the leveling part, let me share that here.

    you had me up until the probe z offset. I am lost now and don't know what to do at this step.

    • @techs.passion
      @techs.passion  4 месяца назад +2

      Sorry about that. All you need to do it to adjust the offest to be in the negative, the number should be the amount that get's you to the paper distance from the bed. I hope that helps

    I bought a set of feeler gauges but they are not as good as the paper method IMO, when I use the paper method I know it is good when the friction is just starting, I then move it a very slight amount down so the friction is grabby but can still be moved back and forth, with this method (which is more or less the same as yours) I only need a slight amount of baby stepping when calibrating to get the squish on the first layer, the feeler gauges get me too close and I have to do more adjustments. I also print the Cura Bed Calibration Square as it has some squares that get filled in and by using baby steps I can get that 1st layer infill perfect with no gaps between the layers.

      I agree, the paper method is the best. I think my first video regarding the CR touch created some confusion so I wanted to follow up with this. So far my bed leveling gamed improved and after getting the CR touch all set and done, it is helping for sure but you still need that paper at least once in a while but my goal was to reduce the amount of leveling I need to do.
      My Ender 3 New Max is here so I will make a video about that soon.
      Thanks you for detailed comment which is always helpful

    Hello, i followed your directions but whenever i start a print the nozzle is not even touching the bed. Also, when i go to z axis it’s not at 10 but at 1.

      It sounds like your offset level is not set right. There is other video I have showing you CR touch from start to finish, you can skip to the leveling step which might explain it better. ruclips.net/video/QTB_PLqitGI/видео.html

    Sir, there are no words to describe how glad I am to have found your channel. This is quite possibly the only video on the internet that shows CR Touch used TOGETHER with Creality Direct Drive. Not only proving that it's possible at all, but also detailing steps how to level your bed after installation of CR Touch. Is there no need to install any different firmware in order to use direct drive? Did you have to change the hotend offset as well?

    • @techs.passion
      @techs.passion  Год назад +1

      Hi, thank you for your kind words. For the direct drive, you do not need any firmware update. You might need to adjust the E steps a bit but I find the default works just as good it's about 94 E steps.
      For the CR touch you do need to add negative Z offset and you would have to find that for your printer, the good news is you only need to do it once on any bed or even on the metal base because you're only trying to find the distance between the nozzle and the CR touch while it's deployed. Do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions. I'll be happy to help :)

      @@techs.passion thanks for response! I think I worded it poorly, by "hotend offset" I referred to X/Y offset - did you have to adjust those or does it work with default settings for bowden setup?
      Also, does CR touch come with a mounting bracket compatible with direct drive, or did you have to design/print one?

    • @techs.passion

      No adjustment needed for the direct drive. Default Setup should work. This is a video on full setup for Direct Drive: ruclips.net/video/7EOgXpctauY/видео.html
      Yes the CR touch comes with the mount. CR Touch Setup: ruclips.net/video/QTB_PLqitGI/видео.html

      @@techs.passion Hi again! Thank you so much for your kind support! I ended up buying both Creality Direct Drive kit as well as CR touch and I installed them, I used your videos as reference. Took me a while but overall, things seem to be working. I did adjust the Z-offset, adjusted the E-steps and did some test prints. The quality so far isn't great, there are some noticeable wavy patterns due to vibrations, probably the added weight of the hotend causing it. I think I need to review other settings. Did you have to adjust anything else, like retraction distance, reduce speed/acceleration?

    • @techs.passion
      @techs.passion  Год назад

      Hi, sorry for not getting back to you earlier, RUclips doesn't make it easy to see replies. I think the problem you are having is due to under extrusion. Check the E steps. You generally don't need to change them from the default for the direct drive unless you already updated them before and they are no longer default.
      The direct drive weight doesn't really reduce the print quality at all. It's something in the settings for sure. Make sure the leveling is good and the E steps at 93 or 94 I think should be the default. Please reach out if you need help, I will do my best. Also a new comment is easier to see, that is the reason for the delay.
