Next time you cast someone, make sure she doesn’t think a referente to the broadway musical is the “single most offensive thing” she’s seen. I actually wanted to watch that movie but if the lead doesn’t appreciate the source material, is probably gonna suck.

I wonder what the shoes would look like in red. I know it's based on the original book, and the 1939 movie colored them red to show off the Technicolor, but its okay for a guy to dream.
I was going to watch this because I enjoyed the stage show but then I found out the woman playing the main character is as fragile as a shattered china doll and thinks that fans wanting the advertising to just match the show a little bit means they're "erasing her" just because her ego is to big to handle her face being covered on the poster. @@Gray-j2q that's my issue like if there was major blowback over her casting, which to my knowledge there isn't, I'd get it but it was just a edit to make the movie poster like the theater shows poster and it just honestly goes to show that she's got a fragile ego and at least imo it comes off like she has no respect for the fans that will probably be the main reason the movie will make money.

why can't people just be a bit dysfunctional sometimes? always has to be 'narcissism' or the most extreme malicious agenda behind it. it's unrealistic. people project. a lot of people who haven't properly worked through certain complex traumas will incorrectly interpret situations through the lens of that trauma. for example if someone has very legitimately gone through the repeated hurt of being hidden, diminished, not chosen etc. because of the colour of their skin, like many black woman realistically have, over time the mind may start to expect that treatment and jump to defence prematurely as a means of self protection. people can be deserving of support and compassion and still be fairly corrected when it's appropriate. like someone else said, you're clearly quite sensitive yourself. don't see why an entire production of people should need to suffer because one cast mate had a bad night.

@@Thatgirljesi11yeah me too. cant wait till November :((
I was born ready
I'm not expecting anything special.
@@truthseeker9249 why?
Does the witch get hysterical and feel like she's being erased every time she puts sun glasses on?
or when she goes into a dark room. Probably also the clouds are trying to erase her by covering her face with shadows.
😂😂😂😂😂
Tbf, we all remember how certain shitty individuals reacted to a black woman playing Ariel. I don't blame Erivo for being a little overprotective in that context.
@@TheBluestflamingos Well Ariel is a white red head character so it was odd a black woman was cast.
@@JurassicRod odd, but some people reacted to disgustingly to it
If this movie doesn't get an Oscar, an academy or any award, I swear…
I can’t stop rewatching this until i see the film on the 18th!
Next time you cast someone, make sure she doesn’t think a referente to the broadway musical is the “single most offensive thing” she’s seen. I actually wanted to watch that movie but if the lead doesn’t appreciate the source material, is probably gonna suck.
It was her that was triggered, nice try though.
Her amazing voice and acting isn't going to change over some instagram post that she made. That yall are whining about.
@@mommyissue it's gonna flop, watch.
@@mommyissue She could be the best actor in the world. She could be the single greatest singer in the world. But she showed her true colors and fans of Wicked who don't like the colors they saw will not watch it.
Kinda like the saying "beauty is only skin deep, ugly goes to the bone". All the talent in the world doesn't hide the spite and contempt she has for fans who recreated the iconic poster.
Exactly…
WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T EDIT HER IN ANY WAY. she might get offended wah wah
She-hulk sequel is looking wild
Twerking incoming!
😂
I only saw the musical for the first time this weekend, and now this trailer gives me so many goosebumps. To the point of feeling a little choked up.
1:18 will always give me chills 🥹
Wanted to see it, but now I cant because of that disgrace of a main. Shame on the producers for casting someone who doesnt even know the franchise and freaks out over nothing. Pathetic.
Could not say it better myself.
"It's the Wizard who should be afraid of me" should be a MASSIVE moment... but here's there's not even a pause, a tear, or an expression.
No thank you.
So one second clip from a trailer is your take on the entire movie? LOL - I saw it last night and it was an incredible movie.
For the love of all humanity.
Don’t cover her eyes!
Defying gravity is going to making me sob my eye's out. Long live wicked
You'll be sobbing even more when the movie just abruptly ends after the song
@@centralstudiosfilmsyay because we'll have to wait unill next year for part 2
@@rocknroll20024 yep!
This looks absolutely PHENOMENAL!!!! I am so excited!
AIN'T NO WAY THIS DROPS WHEN IM IN THE MIDDLE OF CLASS RN AAAHHHHHHH
Fr!
I cannot wait for this movie to come out! I think the casting is spot on and I just can't hold in my excitement. I wish it were out now!!!!!
They've put the saturation up! Yes!!! Colourful Oz!!! 🎉
I noticed it looked different from the last trailers but in a complimentary way.
I originally thought it looked TOO glossy, but they seemed to have toned it down a little, but as you said, adjusted the saturation..
the scenes of ariana were shot with a different camera from those of cynthia that’s why the colors are constantly changing
From the bits we hear in the trailer, I already love their rendition of “Defying Gravity.”
It's a good day to be a theatre kid
REAL
I just realized this movie is this years Barbie with all the marketing
Cynthia Erivo & Ariana Grande nailed
Defying Gravity it sounds so incredible in Wicked!
I can't wait for the oscars just so we get Cynthia's performance of defying gravity..
It won’t be nominated for an Oscar since it’s not an original song. But maybe one of the songs written for the movie will get nominated.
I can’t wait for this movie I know my best friend is gonna be so excited she’s seen the musical 13 times. And some of them were in Broadway❤!
Honestly I feel like this film just has the tiniest bits of sapphic undertones and I'm living for it.
more than a tiny bit!! idk if you’ve read the book, but they literally kiss in it so the sapphic undertones r 100% on purpose and cynthia and ariana know what’s up and what we want lol
"Loving it"? 🎉
@@UtopiaBlue68 yes
lol Jesus this is gonna be interesting to see how this does at the box office. First the one girl bashes a fan man poster in the worst possible way and now the other girl getting exposed for being a diva. The PR team must be in crisis mode.
@@standepain wait what?? I haven’t heard of the second part
@@TrueMr.Quinn1 they were calling her a diva back in 2015. it's a nothingburger
I'm sorry, this just looks so good. Everything is giving everything they need to give. The assignment was understood by all.
Ariana’s vocals behind all of that near 2 minute mark… beautiful! They are two vocal powerhouses that give me chills every time I hear them sing. I’m very excited for this!
0:16, OOPH, those shoes are GORGEOUS.
I wonder what the shoes would look like in red. I know it's based on the original book, and the 1939 movie colored them red to show off the Technicolor, but its okay for a guy to dream.
@@vicentehizon6202we might actually see them in red! In the stage production they sneakily pay homage to the ruby slippers.
Ariana's performance is incredible! A TALENTED WOMAN!
I was going to watch this because I enjoyed the stage show but then I found out the woman playing the main character is as fragile as a shattered china doll and thinks that fans wanting the advertising to just match the show a little bit means they're "erasing her" just because her ego is to big to handle her face being covered on the poster. Like I thought there was only one self centered diva cast in the movie but nope it's not just Ari
It really is unfortunate. Clearly the edit was not done out of malice but by fans that love the stage musical. Ridiculous overreaction.
@@psychoticentertainment7526 She has, actually, been getting a lot of hate from non-theater fans unfamiliar with this show. I do understand her frustration. But attacking the actual fans is just...not acceptable.
She's a phenomenal talent. And certainly the best casting decision in this movie but this was just ridiculous.
I'm still going to support this. I love the franchise. But maybe I'll wait for streaming. The stunt casting of Grande was already a turn off.
@@Gray-j2q I wasn't aware she was receiving blowback for it so thank you for letting me know but similarly to what you said I just think it's a overreaction idk maybe it's a hyperbole but it feels like using tnt to get rid of a fly.
Wait, wait. So you already knew there was gonna be a self centered diva in the film, and you were fine with watching it. Why does having there be two ruin the movie for you? What does it change?
I saw the musical and it WAS THE BEST so I can’t wait
My favorite part was when the lollipop guild threw Hans Gruber off Nakatomi Plaza at the end... so stunning and brave
After the fan poster debacle, I will not see this movie because I will not spend my money supporting these types of people. Erivo can stuff it. Ridiculous
She overreacted to fans altering her image, but I don't think that's enough to not watch the movie.
@@aggy5372 It does since it will feed her Ego. She wants the movie to be focused on her. the way she reacted already shows that she does not respect the Book and Broadway fanbase. She forgot that she is only playing a role that is loved by many.
I used to be a fan of hers but after her recent abhorrent comments I will never support any project she is involved with. Her offensive false outrage is cancel worthy .
Same. Professional victims like Brie Larson, Jennifer Lawrence, Rachel Zegler, Amandla Stenberg, and now this latest clown whose name I don’t care to know are too easily offended to be entertainers.
I’m tired of entertainers hedging their work with gaslighting identity-politics.
@@aggy5372 I do. I’ll stream it vs paying to watch it in theatres. Many other options where the lead does not insult me due to their fragile ego🤷🏻♂️
I had been replaying this trailer over and over again and I still can’t believe how beautiful Defying gravity sound, such a masterpiece ❤
Look up the Brazil version of this trailer. A lot more detail, and more dark. But fantastic.
settle down
I've loved the theatre production for years so to finally see this come to cinemas is amazing for me! This looks like it's going to be amazing!
Is this the actress that totally humiliated a fan for editing (and improving) the movie poster?
Yes the green one 😂
That's also why this movie will tank
2:18 she’s afraid of fans editing her picture for fanart 😂
„totally humiliated“ 😭 yall call cynthia dramatic but say stuff like that. the irony💀
I was so confused when I read that article. The fan was clearly trying to depict the image used for the show! (I went to London and watched it and I could easily tell it was from that)
The orchestrations adding that suspension at 1:05 “Defying Gravity” is everything!
This trailer makes it all sound like an epic MCU battle, which is an interesting creative choice for sure.
1:44 Still gives me chills 🥹😱😍
0:53 Cynthia and Ari singing in unison gave me CHILLS. I started tearing up. I’ve loved Wicked since 2016 and saw it on tour in 2022, I couldn’t be happier that I get to experience this story again on the big screen!! 💚🩷✨
So excited!! Me and my school choir are gonna see this in theaters on November 21

As a long time fan of the source material I am so happy Karl Urban and the rest of the production team insisted that Dredd effectively never removes his helmet and does all of the acting without us even seeing his eyes... Oh... wait... this isn't the Dredd II trailer. Sorry.
I have never seen Wicked the musical on stage, but I heard about it from this PBS Kids show called 'Zoom' and from the looks of this trailer, I'M GOING TO HIT THE MATINEE FOR THIS! I CAN'T WAIT!!!

why can't people just be a bit dysfunctional sometimes? always has to be 'narcissism' or the most extreme malicious agenda behind it. it's unrealistic.
people project. a lot of people who haven't properly worked through certain complex traumas will incorrectly interpret situations through the lens of that trauma. for example if someone has very legitimately gone through the repeated hurt of being hidden, diminished, not chosen etc. because of the colour of their skin, like many black woman realistically have, over time the mind may start to expect that treatment and jump to defence prematurely as a means of self protection.
people can be deserving of support and compassion and still be fairly corrected when it's appropriate.
like someone else said, you're clearly quite sensitive yourself. don't see why an entire production of people should need to suffer because one cast mate had a bad night.
@@sbaker9289LOL I literally have not given this a second thought since I made the comment. I got better things to do then worry about this movie. The length of your comment tells me more about ‘your’ sensitivity than mine. 😅

Saw it today. Worth it for the ending which is amazing, you'll get the full chills.
