I’d normally complain about a trailer showing pretty much every moment of the plot, but since I’m already so familiar with the show it just makes me glad to know they’re covering everything
People complain about "why did they show so much in the trailer" but that's actually what people want. Most of the general public want to know most of what they're seeing so they aren't surprised. The famous movie Castaway with Tom Hanks had the end of the movie spoiled in one of the trailers because the test audiences for the trailer where it was more vague "wanted to know if Tom hanks got off the island" and it actually affected whether or not they're see the movie.
Yesss which it makes it better, i'm really happy she made it like that cause if she were to make the character her own, people would start hating on her and say she can’t act and blah blah blah.
There's a supporting character with a wheelchair, and there was a little girl with a wheelchair at my theater, and the way her face lit up when Nessa was on screen! So wholesome!

Just left the cinema, it exceeded my expectations. Cinematography, costumes, acting, singing, effects, everything was spectacular and magical. I cried and laughed. I am seeing it again next week. Can’t wait for part 2.

This stuff is not normally my cup of tea. But I saw this today with my daughter. I was amazed at how much I enjoyed it, how spectacular it was from beginning to end. Just phenomenally well-executed.
May I ask how old your daughter is? My daughter is obsessed with the movie soundtrack and wants to see the movie, but she's 5, and I'm worried it may be a bit scary for her at this age. I don't want to disappoint her, but I also don't want her to have nightmares 😢
The book is incredible. So was the Broadway production in NYC. Both were so good that I'm hesitant to see the movie in case it doesn't live up to my first two exposures to the material.
I think they are VERY wise to end the first half of this story with Defying Gravity. THAT IS HER MOMENT and its powerful and inspiring and anything after that would just be weak by comparison. She DESERVES a worthy movie. I want this to win Best Musical and Inside Out 2 to win Best Animated film at both the Oscars and the Golden Globes.

It didn't just feel like something made to make money and sell toys. It was worth seeing in theaters, and I think this movie will be, as well. They keep showing scenes of a single monkey, like when he crashes through the window in the scene where she's obviously just been melted by Dorothy....I wonder if this is him? And I wonder just HOW they will handle Nessarose and Fiyero with their unique body enhancements? Like Nessarose is supposed to be in a wheelchair and not have arms and be practically helpless and immobile until she receives her silver slippers (another thing I am looking forward to seeing how they do) and Fiyero is meant to have blue jewels on his skin. I don't see any on him so far, and I REALLY don't want them to do the whole sparkly skin thing they did with Edward Cullen in Twilight.

i can say without a shadow of a doubt that if you're able to save up for a trip to new york to see wicked at the Gershwin... it's worth it. totally a magical experience, from the trap door to the dragon clock to every single detail. it's an iconic show.
The Part in the movie that Touched me 3:32 Deeply in my Soul was when Elphaba came to the Party & did her Solo Dance and MOST of them LAUGHED at her. My tears dried up when Glinda Joined her in the Dance & then Everyone was Cool with it.

Never seen the musical, but I was OBSESSED with The Wizard of Oz growing up. I would rewind The Wicked Witch’s exit scene in the flames over and over because I thought it was the most magical thing I’d ever witnessed. I’m so excited for this movie. It looks spectacular.
If you like reading, I HIGHLY recommend reading Wicked! It goes into more detail, including the origin or Elphaba and why water burns her and so much more!!! The musical does a good job adapting it (with some twists) and this trailer seems to be hinting that it will do just as great a job at it :)

I just watched the movie, and I’m in shock! All the details. Cynthia and Ariana were amazing. What great chemistry! I have to say, Ariana surprised me in a good way. Her acting was spot-on! The songs were fantastic. I watched 2h40min of the movie, and when it ended, I felt like only 1h30min had passed. Of course i´m gonna watch it over and over again while it’s in theaters!
Same, didn’t feel like 160 mins. I will see it few more times and also will see it dubbed in Polish just to see how they translated the songs. Nothing will beat the original tho. It was superb!

I cannot believe how beautiful this movie looks. The costumes, the colours, the cinematography. This is so much better than I could have ever imagined, especially after seeing how other stage-to-big-screen adaptions have looked. I have watched this several times already and I chock up each time. This is amazing. Truly amazing.
When she whipped her cloak and it billowed from the open window and Cynthia's (Elphalba) voice roared with such raw emotion as she flung herself forward...That scene left me absolutely breathless and shook, it was so beautifully executed.
I'm sobbing. As someone who has loved this musical for the better part of a decade and has seen it live in the most magical way, I can't wait to see this in the theater now. I hope many more people are touched by this story.

Never seen the musical, but I was OBSESSED with The Wizard of Oz growing up. I would rewind The Wicked Witch’s exit scene in the flames over and over because I thought it was the most magical thing I’d ever witnessed. I’m so excited for this movie. It looks spectacular.
If you like reading, I HIGHLY recommend reading Wicked! It goes into more detail, including the origin or Elphaba and why water burns her and so much more!!! The musical does a good job adapting it (with some twists) and this trailer seems to be hinting that it will do just as great a job at it :)

I just watched the movie, and I’m in shock! All the details. Cynthia and Ariana were amazing. What great chemistry! I have to say, Ariana surprised me in a good way. Her acting was spot-on! The songs were fantastic. I watched 2h40min of the movie, and when it ended, I felt like only 1h30min had passed. Of course i´m gonna watch it over and over again while it’s in theaters!
Same, didn’t feel like 160 mins. I will see it few more times and also will see it dubbed in Polish just to see how they translated the songs. Nothing will beat the original tho. It was superb!

When she whipped her cloak and it billowed from the open window and Cynthia's (Elphalba) voice roared with such raw emotion as she flung herself forward...That scene left me absolutely breathless and shook, it was so beautifully executed.

@@wa-bu3ke Why? Him being a full on talking goat works better. Having the Animals lessens the punch of the discrimination, plus it's truer to the book the musical is based on.

I've watched this trailer thirty thousand times and it doesn't get old. That last riff with Elphaba going skyward makes me emotional every time.
