Nobody will ever replace Chester. Everyone knows that, but Emily really did give these songs the service they deserved. They all looked happy up there. Can't wait to see what's next.
Yeah the original drummer was like F that.
I am hoping to get tickets to the o2 arena concert, on the 24th
Indeed she gave her all.
@@Robdc89 me too man, me too!
watch the Hybrid Theory tribute band live at Altice Arena and then come back here and listen to this again. service they deserved? uhn no.
I can't imagine how nervous Emily was. Showing up to sing songs by a man who an entire generation of people grew up with is no small feat. Honor his legacy, bring us that comfort we know and love, then take us to a place we've never been. Welcome to the LP family Emily. ❤
This sucks, Ivo Massana should take Chester's place.

ALTICE ARENA 2023, on youtube
I think we can all forgive debut jitters. I’m still in shock that they’re back. Emily has Chester’s rasp.
Girl does need to clean up her chops. if the intention is to revive these songs as much as possible then The Linkin Park sound with Chester has always been super clean, even when singing with distortion Chesters growls were harmonically pleasing and healthy and he always had control. Her distortion is often overused, and she strains too much. I don't care if she "Sounds" like chester but taking some notes on how Chester carefully approached and balanced his sound and vocal workload will help her survive a tour. I also think that for some songs lowering the key back to the original will still sound amazing. Some of these transpositions felt too high for her. Im just glad the boys are back, mostly.
@@matiaspereyra9375 she does a decent job replicating chesters voice but it's obvious she doesn't have that same vocal range, her voice is a bit too raspy as well ngl.
@@matiaspereyra9375she comes from a grungy rage of the machine like background it’s different but the more I listen the more I come to terms with it

I thought the same thing….he seems very genuinely happy. Really cool to see them making music.
I'm a 38 years old grown man, and tonight I shed tears. 7 years ago, I was sure I'd never hear anything more from the band that I grew up with. Seeing you and hearing you on stage just a few moments ago resurrected that small part of me that had died with Chester. It's the phoenix that nobody would have expected to see rise up from the ashes in its full glory. 2024's most beautiful moment. Welcome Emily. Make him proud. Long live Linkin Park.
Me too brother. Me to 😢
@@briand1322 6 comments on this channel and its all from today, go troll somewhere else. you arent even a fan
@@briand1322 I think it's important to acknowledge that people process grief and nostalgia differently. For many, music and the artists they admire become deeply intertwined with personal memories and emotions, and losing someone like Chester can feel like losing a piece of their own history. Whether someone knew Chester personally or not doesn’t make their feelings any less valid. It’s a testament to the impact he had on people’s lives. We all cope with loss in our own way, and it’s okay to feel deeply about something meaningful to us.
42 here, and I'm crying like a child
Who else is cutting onions here? This phoenix is beautiful indeed.
I‘m looking at this probably for the 1000th time. Mike‘s smile and apparently being happy gets me so much every time, it’s so relieving to see this!
Right there with you. That lead off "It's good to see you again" gets me every time.
It's the second time I watch It. I still Love Linkin Park❤❤❤❤❤❤
After listening to this livestream many times (the only place where you can clearly hear her voice live), I’ve fallen in love with her voice - the dynamic range, from soft and slow to screams.

"In the role of Chester Bennington is each of you" - Mike
They ain't trying to replace Chester with Emily. The way I see, they're honoring his legacy while evolving with their sound. Emily brings something fresh and unique, but Chester's presence will always be irreplaceable.
This is about moving forward, not forgetting the past.
Chester Forever! 🤍
Yeeees! That's it! Beautiful comment!
Great way to put it.
I love that they acknowledged him as the Forever Bandmember. He lives on in all of our hearts, in every time we sing along to him. Gone from this mortal plane but never forgotten
Quote of the day bro !
I think she killed it. Amazing job, but I do wish Mike and the band would continue to play "In The End" with just crowd singing Chester's part. It's so emotional and feels like a real tribute to him. Looking forward to hearing the rest of the album though!

Mike Shinoda seems like the happiest guy on the planet right now. Congrats!
Chester Bennington was a once in a generation talent. No singer could ever replace him. After listening to this full live stream twice, I could not be happier with the direction they chose. There’s something in Emily’s voice that reminds me of Chester, especially when she screams. Yet her voice is so unique and different that it does not feel like an attempt to replace him. I’m so glad that they are back and cannot wait to hear the full album.

No one talking about that opening sequence? That imagery of taking the instruments out from under the death sheets? The shot of light (from what looked like a glitched skull) bringing life as the "Castle of Glass" built momentum... that was a rebirth for sure. That's artistry top level... welcome back LP. I come from being a fan of Joy Division all the way here. I listen to many genres and even if I don't understand the lyrics, the emotion comes through.
I listened to their hour long interview before watching this, and i wanted to give this concert a fill listen before commenting on Emily - she did great. Lots of criticism on here that just feels like many of you dont understand the difference between live vocals and studio recordings, and that is ok. So happy linkin park is making new music - they deserve to move forward, whether that being through LP or new groups.
Their interview talked about the process of bringing emily onboard - which was as much about the creative blending and ability to write as it was about vocal capability. ive seen so many comments saying [insert name here] would have been a better fit, and maube vocally that is true, but linkin park isnt looking to be a linkin park cover band - they are looking to continue and create.

The Mercedes-Benz CLR GTR was a prototype race car developed by Mercedes-Benz for the FIA GT Championship in the late 1990s. The car featured a sleek and aerodynamic design with a low-slung body and aggressive styling. It was powered by a 6.9-liter V12 engine producing over 600 horsepower, allowing it to reach top speeds of over 200 mph. The CLR GTR made its racing debut in 1999 but unfortunately 19.5K gained notoriety for a series of high-profile accidents during the season. The most infamous incident occurred at the 1999 24 Hours of Le Mans, where the car became airborne at high speed and flipped over multiple times before crashing back onto the track. The car was subsequently withdrawn from the race, and Mercedes-Benz ultimately decided to discontinue the CLR GTR project. Despite its short-lived racing career, the Mercedes-Benz CLR GTR remains a legendary and iconic car in motorsport history, known for its striking design and impressive performance capabilities.
People who "hate" on her need to understand this, it's okay if you don't like their choice to include her in the band, people are allowed to have their opinion.
But if they have respect for her and want her in their band, she very much deserves to be there, like it or not.

Linkin Park's music has been my lifeline through the darkest moments of my depression. Their powerful lyrics and raw emotion reminded me that I wasn't alone in my struggles, giving me the strength to keep going when everything felt like it was falling apart. Sadly, Chester wasn't able to save himself the way his music saved so many of us. It's heartbreaking to think that the voice that helped me through my darkest days couldn't lift him out of his own pain; a reminder of how deeply mental health can affect even those who seem the strongest.
Watching this made me really emotional. This is awsome and I hope I will get the chance to see you live sometime around Luxembourg. The fact that Emily is born 1 day after myself makes it even more special. Linkin Park will always be part of me. Thank you for starting again ❤❤❤
Chester will always have a place in our hearts, but seeing the band back on stage with Emily feels like the perfect tribute. Welcome back, LP! 🙌
“Tribute” might be the key word here. It sounds good but even my nostalgia struggles to call this great.
Why are so many thinking this is the best thing ever? Everyone knows what this really is. A money grab and nothing else, which isn't my Main issue here, but at least have a bit of dignity and don't call the Band Linkin Park. Without Chester there shouldn't be a Linkin Park and there won't be one for me ever again no matter what they do.
Rob was the only one that deserves praise for not doing it this way and being loyal and having respect for what this Band was about. Besides reading about how she doesn't believe in Mental illness is sickening knowing what happend with Chester.

Same Chester lives on in each and everyone of us his legacy his music
20 years ago, I was just a kid, listenning to songs without understanding anything of the lyrics.
10 years ago, after learning english, I understood why those songs made me shake, scream, tear up.
7 years ago, like many of us, my heart skipped a beat.
Today, being 27, I cried once more for this group. Some of those songs will saty with me until the end, my end. There'll always be a "with Chester" and a "After Chester" but his memory lives on, within everyone of us. We cared as that light went out. And today, you're proving that in the end, it matters.
Thank you for making real again.
Same!

Also 27 and in so many other points relatable
Amen brother , well spoken
just reading your comment made me tear up. Beautiful words brother!
It's too stupid to still compare. This is a new chapter of Linkin Park,so enjoy it.If you don't like it,don't listen.Make it easy...
I was sold on her when she got to perform Lost. It was great hearing how clear her voice is without any of the grit, and that's what was special about Chester to me. (or at least one of the things). He could sing like an angel and scream like a demon
Yes it was Lost’s first live performance!
It took me 5 minutes to tell my wife "Linkin Park are back" between sobbing and crying. Chester, wherever he is, I'm sure is proud. Thank you guys, you have no idea what you did for so many of us.

Im a 46 year old Dentist living and working in Singapore. I was the president of the Linkin Park Fan club of Singapore 20 years ago, in 2004. I have met the band , had pictures taken, autographs and all, but all these things can never and will never replace my memories of Chester. LP and their music has saved my life on many a dark moment, and i totally lost it when Chester died. Very few things make me shed a tear, but on this day of 8th Sept 2024. i sit in front of my laptop crying like a baby! It is a very strange feeling to be crying and having the hair on your back stand up and your skin tingle. Here's to many more sold out concerts and world tours to come! I hope someone from LP underground contacts me and i will literally go to the ends of the earth to have them perform again here in Asia.

Hope we get all the answers and reasons the time we pass too.... Be blessed to get new personal LP experience!
This is basically impossible to watch without crying if you grew up listening to Linkin Park.
Agreed, but they really didn't do justice to the legacy with Emily
@@Kay9Kunal Nobody could have done justice tonight.
Her voice was pretty much the same at the end of the show as it was at the beginning. I was expecting it to be shot and destroyed. I think she did a good job, to be honest. I haven't watched it all the way through yet. I just skipped around to different sections but I'm impressed that her voice is holding up for an hour.
But again, no one can compare to Chester. I'm a massive Slipknot fan and even I agree that Corey Taylor couldn't perform LP songs as good as Chester (just like Chester couldn't have performed Slipknot songs as good as Corey).
I'm just filled with anger. The tribute show did make me cry. This is so dishonest, dishonorable, and a bigger Stain to Linkin Park than Jay Z.... we'll maybe not quite that bad. But close.
@@Kay9KunalI think Chester would disagree. I certainly do.
@@SR1Recordsher voice was equally bad at the beginning and ending of the show... so you think that's a good thing. Ewe
I’m rewatching this iconic moment exactly 1 month later. What about you guys?
Same here. I watched the live, skip class for it, and glad I did. I want to see them on tour so I am trying to get myself to Emily‘s voice. She does great with some songs, OK with some other songs, but I hope I never hear her sing numb ever again
I am here.
@@TheRiderInBlack85 That's not fair, it's her first performance with the band. She's improved so much in the recent shows. Check out the concert in South Korea!
I cannot take this anymore I’m now more excited to hear the new album I love the sounds Joe Hahn does for every record Mike Shinoda production Brad Delson guitar playing Dave Farrell bass playing I miss Chester Bennington songs like Faint, From The Inside, Given Up he really screamed like mad on them songs and Rob Bourdon he just drummed like mad on some good songs including the live version to Bleed it Out in Milton Keynes I’m impressed by Emily Armstrong and Colin Brittain I met the original Line up in Newcastle 5th November 2010 I was more than happy to see the band I even sang every song at the concert when the support band was on I was thinking “I don’t want these I want Linkin Park” then as soon as I heard the intro I was like “YES!!! this is it my favourite band are about to come on stage” then Wretches n Kings played I was shouting “Mike your a legend” then Chester sang which made me happy soon as I heard Papercut I knew every word of the song after the concert I even sang Breaking The Habit as did Jay-Z did after the Collision Course dvd

If the band is happy, I'm happy. Keep bringing joy. Ninjas cutting onions all over the world today.
Kudos my friend. More "fans" need to hear this.
Its half the band. This is not LP.
I didn't even notice till I saw an interview with Mike, but at 24:50 when Emily covers her mouth then goes to the crowd, she actually had started crying and was totally unable to sing,
She was a fan just like us, she knows how big the moment was, give her a go,
I was critical at first, but the more I reflect, the more I realise just how hard this performance must have been mentally,
That sound got to me!
I agree with you, imagine all the flack the band is receiving for not getting an exact carbon copy of Chester....why don't people try to think for a bit and put themselves in theirs shoes, would anyone want to have a CARBON copy of your late best friend and fellow musician together with you everyday reminding you of what could have been? or start anew with someone else entirely different? it's a hard decision and the performance reflects this!
bien vu !
Buen detalle no me di cuenta de lo emocionada que estaba Emily yo aún me emociono cuando veo a chester en los lives o los videos pues es inevitable extrañar a chester

Started off pretty rough but I love how much stronger and bolder her voice became as she grew more confident and less nervous. By Lost, I was completely sold. She’s the right choice.
Not there yet, but i do think the new songs song good on her. But i would be lying if i said i liked the old ones, it sounds a bit soulless, like screaming for the sake of screaming.

I am crying sitting here at the tail end of Somewhere I Belong and I cannot imagine how Mike Shanoda is feeling getting to play these songs live again. Bittersweet but feels so good
I can’t imagine how nervous she must be. The studio recording of Emptiness Machine shows exactly why they picked her. Chester has such a massive legacy to hold up. Anyone no matter how talented would be shaken, especially with how critical fans can be (as seen by the hate in the comments) As a life long fan I can say I’m really happy for them to be able to move forward making inspirational music. Give her time and I think you’ll see her thrive. If Mike and the rest of the band believe in her, so do I.
Edit: after watching their interview with the whole band where they talk about how they brought her and Colin on, I’m even more certain they chose only the people who were best suited.

Obviously she was super emotional through the first half of the set. If you’ve ever sang live on a stage while being an emotional mess you would see that your voice breaks down. Check out their video and see what she can do. The fact she was so emotionally affected during this performance, as well as letting the fans sing so much, makes me even a bigger fan.

I am Adam and I will sing his songs just as well as I can because I was a huge fan of his. So please join in and sing his songs with me!"
