Please tell me this, can't you just replace the springs with something solid now that you have automatic bed leveling. Doesn't make sense to use springs and risk the bed shifting over time.
Dude, I’ve been having problems with mine since install because all the tutorials wouldn’t explain what they were doing. Your a life-saver
I just installed mine. I would recommend to viewers that you take the extra time to fish the data cable through the flexi-duct, it just adds that OEM feel.
Any good cable management just gets me off :P love it
Yeah i did that. Was contemplating for 5 minutes if i should do that or not. End up doing it and it felt smart and clean. No regrets.
for the newbs....when you slide the duct back, it expands in size quite a bit
I took your advice and definitely appreciate it!
I read this comment after cable tying on the outside it the whole way down to the board...
...yeah, it does look way better fed through the duct.
I had to come back to level and fine tune my settings. Thank you! I appreciate you showing the whole process. It's seems all good now! Ty again and again!
FYI: The firmware you selected is for adding the auto leveling sensor AND a filament runout sensor. (They make a filament runout sensor that will stop printing if your filament runs out so you can load filament and resume printing).
@Jane Pimentel Did you ever figure this out?
My Ender 3 V2 Neo arrived yesterday - I've never used a 3D printer and oh boy are the instructions insufficient! First successful print I've managed to do is thanks to your advice, thanks very much, I appreciate it!!!!
Din câte tutoriale am urmărit pe RUclips acesta este cel mai explicit tutorial
Multe salutări din România !
@Just Vlad thank you so much. Huge help. You got a great voice and tone for podcasting too
My BL touch port had hot glue all over it, thanks Creality.
Спасибо, мужик! По видосу легче настраивать, чем по инструкции на крохотной бумажке из коробки :)
your instructions are detailed and thorough,. I used ur vid to build my first printer, the voxelab aquila, thnx ur the best. Glad I found this vid for my Ender 3 V2, a lot easier and more detailed than the others as well, thnx again!
Was thinking about it yesterday actually and I have an ender 3 V2, so it was perfect timing for this video, ended buying this auto leveler cause the others are plastic and I want the durability.
so many step and so well explained!!!! thank you so much! even on my normal LCD monitor, i managed to get my cr touch to work! thanks a bunch!
How'd you download the file? I have an HP and I keep getting a Adobe acrobat file and it won't download.
2 months trying to figure this out... you helped me so much friend. thank you! cheers!
Hey man, just wanted to say thanks for this one. Was having a hell of a time trying to figure out how to best configure my offset but this made it painless.
How'd you download the file? I have an HP and I keep getting a Adobe acrobat file and it won't download
Thanks dude! Just installed mine following this video!
good job. Thanks to you I was able to install everything today!
Love your videos they are so helpful. 👍👍 keep up the good work!
Thank you! This is a good resource for cr-touch leveling 👍
Thank you!!!! Finally a good and easy explanation of the process.
I’m having a heck of a time getting mine to level properly. Both with and without the CR Touch
Make sure the wheels on the bed are tight. If they aren't, you'll never get it level
Thank you very much for this. It helped me a lot.👍👍
Everyone please remember that once you open the bottom part, to check your main board number since you need afterwards to install the firmware!!!! I put everything together, took the bottom off to connect the wire and now have to take it off again to check the main board number.
This guy has saved me twice tonight alone. Great Videos!!!!
This video was extremely helpful thank you
This video helped me figure it out after hoursssss 😅 thank you! I just had issues finding the download page but finally got to where he was at. Only issue was when I put in printer it was in Chinese 🥴
Please can you send me the link to the page and which download u used? Thanks
I was having trouble with the firmware side of this for my ender 3 max, but this video was absolutely perfect!
... unfortunately I did somehow manage to install what I believe is Chinese version(as I don't recognize any Kanji and it definitely isn't English😂). So I'll have to have to quickly fix that, but that was a me problem anyway. Thanks 👍
Vlad, nice video, One thing...
The G29 code needs to be on a a separate line following the G28 command.I entered it as you demonstrated, but the CL-Touch only checked the center point. After moving the G29 to a separate line, it now checks 9 points.
Interesting. The instructions that come with the thing very literally tell you to put it all as one "G28G29" the way he did in this video.
Important note you have to remove the z limit switch as the cr touch acts like the z limit switch now also you should install the firmware that says just the bl touch not filament runout sensor
What happens if you don't remove it? I'm new to this and don't want to mess anything up
@@miriamwong4200 according to the manual it says it won’t destroy your machine but It is recommended what happens is that you unplug the z limit switch so it would make sense to remove it if you don’t it has an unlikely chance to try to move the z down and the z switch is stoping it by force which is not good for your stepper motors and since the z switch is unplugged it won’t stop the z gantry
Hiya, hoping you could answer my question as your reply seems to be kinda what I'm looking for. I feel like I'm having lots of trouble manually adjusting the z height to get the best print, if I got this product, would that mean I wouldn't need to fiddle around with the cogs below the bed to adjust the height?
@@SpikeCooks no you would still have to do the same fiddling just after your done fiddling you won’t have to manually level a lot the you can just use the automatic level and that should avoid manually leveling for a good amount of time but note that once in a blue moon you should re level your bed manually to make sure you get the best quality prints (I manually leveled it 6 months ago and it is still leveled good I normally auto level it after every print but if it is a not really important part and you don’t mind so much if it is not the best I sometimes skip auto leveling the bed)
Nice video, thank you for sharing
Just fitted this hotend and fans on my Geetech Prusa pro with a bowden cable.
Please do a video on the enter 3 s1, but either way love ur vids
finaly a ender video
I fed my cable through the webbing to make it all look like it was made that way. It wasn't too hard to do.
nice video love your content
If you can't find your firmware version:
You can find it on your motherboard, when you open it up. Mine said "4.2.2" just under the creality logo, near the center. ( Ender 3 Pro )
Love your videos
Wait, those mounting holes at 3:28 were not there at the beginning 0:20, did you get a replacement bracket? If so where did you get it. My Ender 3 v2 does have those mounting holes. I was just curious as to where I can find the bracket, or did you tap and die them?
I have it as well, but having some issues with it..
My first probe got damaged because it decided to pop-out mid print bumping my buildplate + print on the floor. Also the probe was bent.
Looked like a firmware issue to me, since I didnt get it to again before eventually re-flashing the firmware.
I read online that I am not the only one with this issue..
Also, My original glass plate is kind of wonky. @ of the 4 corners are quite low and prevent a good layer adhesion. I would expect the probe to fix this by lowering z on those areas, but it did absolutely nothing.
Even after installing a new probe, the corner issue still presists.
I mean, what is the use of this product if it doesnt do what it is supposed to?
One of the things they don't tell you is you have to rename the .bin file or else it won't work. You are all welcome!
hi, rename it? Thank you
@@greenshark6899 rename to firmware.bin i just figured this out
You forgot to unplug the Z switch, it's not needed anymore and they recommend it to be removed! ✌🏻
hiho i was wondering if you have some tutorial or something i have flashforge finder and after a year it starts loosing steps or layer shifting but i dont know how to tight the belts
Hi, If the nozzle is too far at one corner, but to close at another corner, will the CR-touch adjust to that, or would I need to?
I just can't seem to get the nozzle to where I want it on the bed... I offset the z axis and still it doesn't go close enough when it comes to print... I did all the manual levelling as well... any tips?
Same issue, this isn’t much of a “quality of life upgrade” after all…
Definitely install the cable from motherboard to the sensor via the existing flexi cover. Also Z stop should be removed.
Edit: check also your motherboard version when you open the cover and write it down somewhere, I had to open it twice.
Gonna have to order me one. Already got Jyers UI for mine. Waiting on my 4.2.7 board to be dropped off.
I would also suggest some Silicone bed spacers. Then you dont have to deal with the springs
I just bought the CR Touch but haven't installed it yet. Thank you for your guide.
So I'm using the Jyers UI firmware. Will the BL Touch version of the software be fully compatible with the CR Touch?
Great video.👍
i have the cr touch with my ender 3 v2 and each print requires me to mess with the z-offset and it's usually way higher than 0, the last one was 5.68 and the one before that, 6.29. has anyone else had this issue of it always being so inconsistent? i'm considering just going back to manual bed levelling.
I can't get it to "barely touch" I am not sure how to fix this issue. I'm still looking.
You didn't mention removing the Z axis limit switch which is no longer needed.
Great video!
What is that shroud around your fan??
It’s the stock shroud on the Ender 3 V2 :)
Great tutorial, only problem I have is my firmware change the language to chinese. And I tried multiple different versions, all in CHINESE. Lol thank god I can understand the letter A in a box means something about languages.
@KILBILL6331 blessed thank you so much
Hey so I followed this tutorial but now whenever I print something it heats up to 175 nozzle, 60 bed, then heats up to 200 nozzle, 60 bed, and then both go to 0 and everything starts cooling down, without even beginning to print anything. How do I fix this?
PLEASE HELP!!!
After installing my CR touch, I start printing and it performs its leveling at several points (4×4).
The problem is that during this upgrade the nozzle turns off for no reason. On the other hand, the heating plate always remains hot.
It's annoying because the leveling will be distorted, moreover once the leveling is done the printer does not wait for the nozzle to reach its original temperature again, and starts printing directly. Result: Unable to perform reliable printing.
What should I do to solve this big problem?
Thank you
done all these steps now my auto home is in the middle of bed and super high, I try to lower the z and it won't lower, it has no problem going up
Remove the z access limiter switch on the left
When I hit auto-home, the nozzle moves down until tip of the bed levelling sensor touches the bed and then a little more, and then the sensor tip withdraws fully. But I can see that my nozzle is still about 4-5mm above the bd. When it finally completes and goes home, the nozzle is still too high. I can never get the bed level with the auto levelling kit.
After starting a print mine auto bed levels the bed again unlike in your video where it just did the two probes?
Can someone explain what the point is of having a auto bed leveling sensor while you can turn the nozzle down and level the bed
Hi.... I'm quite new to 3D printing.. Just bought the CR Touch and I've fitted to the Ender 3 v2..... But nothing... The firmware for LCD is V1.0.4 .. what is yours? and any other help will be appreciated.
My printer isn’t reading g codes anymore but the level function shows up any idea what’s wrong? Any help is appreciated
Mine when it levels doesn't pull the probe up it does it the first and last probe only the rest it pushes down twice goes from blue to red and that's it and I feel like it's not working properly
Does that g29 need to be put on all prints? Or just for the bed test?
Just install cr touch and new firmware. Can not see highlight bar after update. Board version 4.2.2
How are you on trouble shooting I have mine installed and a filament sensor. When I auto home the gantry does goes down and the touch does probe the bed
Hi I did everything up to adding the firmware n turning it on. I set my printer to auto home n it won’t move. The car touch is red also.
Make sure to unplug the z switch because if you don't it might not work!
When you are felling it, what should it feel like?
Great video no kap ✅
Thanks for the video. Advice from something I learned early on, your fingers have oils that the bed will retain if you touch the bed. Always clean the bed to prevent warping, or issues with first layer delamination. It helps a bunch to do a quick wipe on the bed (careful not to touch). Makes all the difference and reduces headaches :)
So I have a problem my auto level device isn't going down all the way I'm at negative 10 on the z axis and it still doesn't want to go down for the auto leveling
I did all the steps, but then when it came time to print it no longer show any prints available. Have tried multiple times with multiple different prints
When I move z to 0 I still have more room between been and nozzle than I would like 🤔. Bed can’t be adjusted any higher from knobs either.
Make sure you removed the z limit switch completely, also he talks about fine tuning somewhere after 13:00
@@Moonsauc3 I ended up lowering the z off switch to like -1.2. Seems to be working now.
@@Moonsauc3 I moved mine down as far as it will go and there still is too much room
I installed mine how you have yours but it comes up short what did I do wrong?
Okey, thanks. What is the newest Firmware with CR Touch Support? I only see the BL Touch FW... Thanks. Aaaand can anyone explain how to level the CR Touch (Z-Offset)? Thanks.
Not sure why only the middle top, bottom, left and right are the ones that isn't lined up. Only the corners are leveled.
How come u didn’t need to unistall the z axis chip ..when i had it on my extruder would shoot all the way to the right and make a grinding noise
Hey, did you ever fix this? I have the same grinding problem. Thanks!
Why my Ender 3 v2 stops every time under a hour can you tell me
Did exactly everything you did. now nothing shows up on my print to print. cant autohome, and i cant level the bed. any solutions ?
Did you install firmware for the wrong motherboard type
Man I’m pretty lost with my ended 3 v2 same setup but I cannot get it to print right
Mine won’t do the 9 point mesh after manually leveling it. I’m just gonna get rid of this thing. Not what I imagined
Probably a dumb question, but once the firmware is updated, can I go ahead and delete the bin files from the SD card, or does the printer need those files on there?
You've probably figured this out by now, but yes you can delete them.
My CR Touch touches the bed, becomes red, and then doesn't do the whole movement to become purple. Any help? It auto homes just fine.
When I select Auto Home, once it finishes that process and I go into "Move Z" and adjust it from 10.0 to 0.00, my extruder nozzle is still way too high off the bed. WTF?
Just realized I need to go back to the "Prepare" screen and use that Z-Move feature, not the one under the "Move" menu.
Having an issue with this thing. OS locks up shortly after pprint starts. It's been putting weird files onto my SD card, wont let me print from pc. Any suggestions? I have the 4.2.2 board ender 3.
I'm having nearly same issue, printing from SD card is a no-go after about 5 seconds, I've also had a pain trying to get cards read. However, the USB printing from Cura works. Are you also getting an EPROM.DAT file saved to your SD card?
Yeah I was. I just upgraded to the 4 7 board and said screw it.
So far things seem fine.
If you have the chip that starts with a g. You are basically screwed for using the touch. I guess most if the newer 4.2 boards are updated to that chip.
Best of luck
@@thewarhammer8707 are you referring to the gd32 chip?
Are you saying the best way around this if you want to use the cr touch is to upgrade your board? Is it possible to use a different or custom firmware to get it working right?
one of my bolts on the underside is stripped...this is brand new and the first time trying it..im using a precision set of drivers and im highly experienced with working on eletronics l. this is just unacceptable....had to fill hole with soder then place a hot bit into it just to unscrew it
Hi, any idea why a printer will not see the firmware in the file? I tried flashing the card many times, different cards, etc. the reader works as I am still able to see models in other cards. I have version 1.0.4, 422 board. Thank you!
Same here I’ve installed everything put card in and it’s not there !!! Did you fix ?
@@dannyjackjones9843 just kept trying and it finally worked. No idea how- I just kept doing it
@@greenshark6899 kept doing what mate as in which bit ? Whits end tonight . Files says it’s on the card on laptop but when I put card in printer it loads up as though it does normally …..
I formatted my SD card and that fixed the problem for me
I still have the zip Ties i got when I got the Ender 3 v2
Don't you have to disconnect the stop bed level sensor at the side of the printer
Awesome video, but I am a total newbie so you were going awfully fast for me. A lot of the terminology is completely new to me, and can make this difficult to understand. I will learn!
W man
just pause the video at each step - that's what I do
Shouldnt you unplug the Z axis stop cable??
Yes, he never mentioned that, you can also remove the switch all together.
Hi i had downloaded the firm ware but my printer wont flash ? any idea ?
I had an issue where the 3D printer wouldn't read the SD card after doing the firmware update. I ended up installing a different firmware and it fixed it.
I used this one below.
GD-Ender-3 V2-Marlin2.0.8.2-HW-V4.2.2-SW-V1.0.7_E_N_BLTouch
I have the sam issue. After installing the new firmware, the printer can't read any .gcode files. It has the auto leveling button but it works only partially - the head moves to the center, the nozzle runs towards the bed three times and comes back to left front corner. BUT WITHOUT THE METAL PROBE MOVING! I will check other firmware versions out
@@andrzejgowacki1979 yeah try the firmware, I was fighting with it for awhile but installed a different firmware. Fixed the problem
I was following along with this guide, but after putting in the sd card with the new firmware my ender 3v2 won't actually boot.
The screen will just show the creality logo and after letting it run for a while it doesn't move from there. What can I do about this? I followed each step exactly like the video, and have the same board and proper firmware. So idk what the issue is
Use the 8gb sd card that came with the printer, I also make sure it's the only file on the card.
same issue
@@3xpl54 Oh I actually fixed this the day after posting this lol. I just ended up instaling a version of Jyers UI that was compatible with the cr touch. Turns out the base firmware the printer comes with does bot like updates, so better to go with someone else's tries and tested firmware
@@jesusbarron1641 isnt Jyers ui discontinued though?
@@3xpl54 The reposity hasn't been updated since 2021. But I've not had any issues with the version of Jyers I downloaded as oposed to the base firmware.
There might be another option for firmware that you might prefer, but I found Jyers to be a substancial and quick improvement.
I'd recomend checking out some Jyers videos from BV3D, Bryan Vines makes some great videos that are easy to follow and offer a lot of great alternatives as well
can you do a upgrades video
I don’t understand what the point is? If we’re using an Ender 3 we’re gonna have to adjust levels every so often anyways. I manually level mine like you did and don’t have any problems besides my z axis being 2mm off. Does it actually change how its coming out of the printer or what’s it doing?
The point is I can lay a few wipes of glue stick, hit print and walk away. I don't even have to acknowledge the machine and it will print a whole build plate. I used to think, manual level is better, but the stress and still having a full build plate lift up in some areas compared to this is a world of difference, it's an honest quality of life upgrade. The 9 point bed mesh will bother you if you only print benchys one after the other... for some reason?
why did you install the screws from the bottom -> up?
The support bracket has threaded holes, the cr touch does not so you have to attach it from the bottom. Also don't use the 8mm screws for this as I did LOL. Those longer screws(8mm) are to replace the screws that attach the fan housing so as to accommodate the cr touch bracket.
I'm having a bit of an issue when first strating my prints after installing the CR Touch. When it starts the auto-level it drops my nozzel temp down. Then when the print starts it doesn't allow the temp to rise again before starting the print. Any recommendations?
Howdy! Great tut! I was just having trouble updating my firmware, does anyone else have trouble updating their Ender 3v2 when turning on your printer? My printer just goes to its standard screen with info on the bottom right corner.
Format your SD card and then load just the bin file to it. Insert SD card in printer then power on. Should fix it.
@@MyBigThing2010 it didn’t help :(
