exjw ex jehovah's Witness Former Pioneer Former Ministerial Servant Former Elder Watchtower Cult governing body update
My youngest daughter asked me to attend the assembly this year, but I told her no. I feel like each time I've tried to go back, something bad always happens to me. Nawww, I grew up in it, so I'll pass!
lol good call
My brother joked to me asking if I was going with Mom to the circuit convention. Both of us have been out of the religion almost 30 years, I got df'd for refusing to stop hanging out with a df'd friend. My brother did way worse but never got df'd. I think the elders came after me because I was married to a JW girl who kept going to meetings without me. We stayed married for a couple more years but it became untenable. Even still mom still talks about organization stuff with us. She was all excited about all the changes in this past year. It's weird but we love her and I'd never try to talk her out of the JW crap but I still keep tabs on this cult in case they go full Jim Jones.

Herman Melville’s classic novel Mobey Dick has lots of historical details but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s a work of fiction
"In Jehovah's organization it is not necessary to spend a lot of time and energy in research, for there are brothers in the organization who are assigned to that very thing, …"Watchtower 1967 Jun 1 p.338
🚨 Red Flag Alert! 🚨
Yeah. Twenty year olds who just got their GEDs.
I imagine an incomplete Encyclopedia set from the 1930s is their only outside resource
So they can tell you what you should be hearing. Self research and come to your own conclusions

I’m so happy to be POMO and never going back! Free from all the nonsense 😎☮️☮️❤️🎄
Congrats!!!
Congrats for being pomo🎉🎉
Im pimo rn bc i dont have the financial security, but ill leave in 2 years(if all goes well).
Same!!! 🎉🎉🎉🥂🥂🥂
Hey Wally. Watchtower continues to fool themselves imagining they teaching 'blank slates' because of their superiority complex. Hope your having a pleasant bad ass day!!
This whole convention is going to be so boring and dry as hell.
Don't go.
Absolute killer video, thank you for being so generous with the length.
Lett-in-the-making and Wonder Woman theme = perfection
That was my thought, too, is he trying to be a young Stephen Lett?? Good luck with that!!😂😂
Exactly Wally. Whether Spiderman or any other story, the point remains the same and valid. Just because a work of fiction uses actual people and even real events does not mean the story actually happened or was even intended to be understood as historically accurate. Historical fiction is a thing. So is Devotional Fiction, which is essentially what a lot of scholars say about the gospels. They were meant as religious stories to both teach and entertain, kind of like the Dramas we were raised with. Many of them are set within historical events or at least events that are claimed to be true but nobody in the audience thinks the Drama actually happened. The gospels read like fiction because the are fiction.
Who knows? maybe Marvel is onto something with the multiverse theory 👁😜
@@nospringchicken2211 lol. Yes! That would be awesome
Multiple wardrobe changes. 🕺🏽
Them: “Now, we know Lois Lane had the correct account about Superman because she walked with him during his lifetime and listened to the things he said about Krypton and that’s how we know her Superman account is accurate…Originally, she wrote it for the people of Metropolis but later translated it herself into Kryptonian. And she did this 8 years after Superman died.”
“Wait, Superman died in 1980. So, she wrote it in 1988?”
Them: “Well the fragments we found are dated to 2188. So, yes, 8 years after Superman died. And written by Lois herself.”
“Wait, but that’s 200 years after he died. How could she live that long?”
Them: “Listen. I’m telling you the facts. Lois’ account about Superman is accurate because she walked with him and spoke to him. She was with him when he spoke about Krypton so we know her account is accurate when she wrote about it in 2188, two hundred years later. Don’t you get it now?”
“…I think you have your math wrong. How could she write it in 2188 if she died in the 19th century?”
Them: “Satan…always blinding the minds of the unbelievers…”
😂
Brilliant
The Bible canonized by the Early Catholic Church. Then Watchtower says they are the only ones who can decifer the Catholic book. Mathew Mark Luke and John were written anonymously. Don't even get me started on the Index of when the Book were written according to Watchtower. Lol
Yet they are the only gospels out of 2 dozens or so that the Church Fathers endorsed.
Yo Wally my friend
That speaking style is intentional, it's a way to put the audience into a trance, and everybody also does it so they don't look like they're using their own words like some pastor from christendom@@freespirit3891
hey man! hope you are doing good!
I always enjoy your long videos they are great.
I love your videos, Wally. You always give me something really inspiring to think about! Born & raised as a JW in the 1960's & 70's, at 18 I left
Very eye opening.... too bad JW eyes are glued shut.... why cant they be reasoned with? do they not value logic?
They don't AT ALL! Literally, zero critical thinking skills. That's my biggest gripe with my mom🙄
@@tiffanyp7670 same. My brother overhears my mother talking to my grandma on the phone telling her that when she was talking to me about JWs that she could tell Satan was using me to talk through me. Delusional
They even go as far as to teach that 'independant thinking' originates with the devil...
@@user-vo4wc2jz8gif you try to debate with them they will just accuse you of telling lies and twisting the truth! If you ask them what exactly you lied about or what you twisted they won’t be able to answer you but they’ll be adamant that you lied.
@@murph8411 Straight out of the governing body's playbook. "Apostate lies", no details, no rebuttal.
When I was a JW, 1 Peter 3:15-17 was my favourite scripture because if this was the truth, I should always be able to defend it. That ended for me in 2002 after a CSA exposé in the UK which the elders and branch had no defense for. I couldn't in good conscience go out in the ministry after that and I've been "inactive" ever since.
Good day. You're totally right! Notice that at 21:35 the JW speaker credits "scholars who study these texts" and then adds, "forms the basis for our translation today", a bit cunning, don't you think? So, I guess that words which have been added or removed and even entire texts that are turned upside down by the "writing" department will always find their basis in the work of non-JW scholars.
super slimy
You should believe because we tell you while never looking at facts because who can trust those... Thanks Wally for another great video!
They went looking for documents that backed their claims. Shockingly, they found one saying, "Yep, what they said is correct.
Watchtower is Disgusting
I like how they show Oxford as a place of high prestige and trust when it's something that favors them. And if you mention evolution, they are wicked and not trust worthy.
You get bored, to death , just listening to them talking! No emotions, no feeling, just a robotic attitude.
I LOVED the ‘in Hebrew it means’ … I never caught that before! That is an excellent point. How obvious (once you pointed it out).
Houston we have a bigger problem now, the Watchtower won’t “Shut Up”! 😖😖😖
Is it me or is the last dude facial expressions remind you of Stephen let
Great Job Wally thanks
Oh my! This is a good one, Wally!
I'm a big fan. I have been watching since your first video
I want a bible scholar to review this video and critique it.
I want a church father to review this and comment.
I want god to just materialize and end the big mystery.
I want a sandwich
Chocolate sounds good
Plenty of Bible scholars on YT. Jennifer Byrd, Kipp Davies, Josh Bowen, Bart Erman. All are PhDs and know Greek and Hebrew.
These ancestors had a hotline with God 😮 how practical it must have been 😂😂😂😂 now with bible its the Arab phone 😅😅😅
Wally can you please do one of your amazing skits set to the music of depeche mode's personal jesus...I see sooo many possibilities lol...I love you man and thanks for being you and making me feel good when I'm not
5 points for critical thinking ,minus 50 for the jim crow joe commercial
I feel like you’re basically describing believing JW like the Thermians in the movie Galaxy Quest 😂 totally taking the “historical documents” (tv episodes) as fact and true. Which honestly yes accurate. Also the Aussie guy in their lil documentary sounds like a JW version of Philomena Cunk (Cunk on Earth which is hilarious) 😅
Yes! I thought about galaxy quest also 😂😂
Great video.
Have you ever noticed that whenever watch tower wants to convince you of something, they alway use someone with an accent.european, scottish etc.but you will never see them using someone from the south states like Arkansas or texas.or Alabama.why is that??
It’s because Christian Pastors usually have that mid-west or Southern drawl/accent. Besides, isn’t Jehovah from Australia?
This is definitely one for actual degree & phd qualified bible scholar’s with the capacity for critical analysis to review. You did a great job of it Wally, a lot of the points you made is exactly what I was thinking while watching this, & you made a few more points I didn’t immediately think of. But I’d love to see a few bible scholars sit around with a few historians & archeologists who specialise in the region & have a full discussion of the topic & dissect it completely, maybe including their blatant use of Oxford to somehow add credibility to whatever they’re trying to prove. By the way researching the bible critically is how I deconstructed my faith, their walking the fine line of peaking someone’s interest & them working out all of the BS they always seem to come up with.
At 26:49, is this speaker trying to imitate Mark Stephen Lett's drawl and rubbery facial expressions? It's a bit hypnotic!
I noticed that too. I think they all want to be GB's someday so they imitate them! lol so funny
🌴🌺 I was dying from the WW forehead… 😂😂 on the stair climber at the gym.. then the popcorn 🤣🤣🤣
Guy at 27 minutes (wonder woman) is taking public speaking lessons from Lett.
My god I was thankful for these videos at the conventions
My eyes rested well oh look time for a sandwich
The first gospel written is accepted by all scholars is Mark and probably a lost Q gospel from which both Matthew and Luke used
Splane’s Sphinx nonsense was the final nail in the coffin for me regarding the Witnesses. I asked my grandmother about it, made her rewatch it and everything. I asked her to explain to me how I was supposed to take that seriously. She said that she didn’t know, but I could do research on it. I asked her where I was supposed to do my research since Splane just said I couldn’t trust the Encyclopaedia Britannica.
I didnt notice any popcorn 😂
The take-home I get from the ending of Mark is that within a couple of hundred years significant changes were made, and roughly speaking it’s 200 years before the earliest manuscripts that we have, so how on earth do we know which bits have or haven’t been added in? It’s impossible to say that any story or sentence or verse is original so how can a Jehovah’s Witness live their life bound to a book where they cannot say, that any of it is in the original Bible because we simply have no idea which bits were original and which bits were added in
Hi Wally and Zeezy ❤️🐈⬛ I might really believe if I opened your garage door and tada you have a Tesla 😂 That would be absolute proof it really happened 😂😂
Before filming Wally, "Somebodeeeeeeee".
@ 0.38, Zizzy, "I'm watching you...", rather menacingly. I am slightly afraid...
Lett IS. a scholar , he's one of the best in the world . Don't lett his background selling used cars , prejudice your view of his mental acuity . He is a world renowned expert , in talking baby talk to full grown adults .😅
"babies are little enemies of god."
I had no idea that the JWs think that the Noachian Deluge was real event. There are... *so* many reasons why it couldn't have happened.
Antarctic ice core samples that date back 400,000 years was the thing that caused the house of cards to come tumbling down for me.
Now I'm a big geology nerd!
They also re-write Matthew 24:39 to suggest the people ignored warnings when in fact, every other translation says the people "knew nothing" until the flood came.
Watchtower's rendering was "they took no note". More evidence of them re-writing scripture to fit their doctrine rather than let the bible speak for itself.
And they even recently admitted that verse is translated wrong @@carlisroy6666
WTF?! 70% OF MATTHEW IS COPIED FROM MARK (yes, Mark was written first). Also, Luke's SAYS he's compiling information, writing to: "MY MOST EXCELLENT THEOPHILUS".
These people are just grifters.
I remember the old All Scripture is Inspired book. What a joke that thing turned out to be
As the end draws nigh the Bible says certain attitudes will become more clearly manifest.
The end of what? Which end?
Dude my parents and grandmother always used 1914 as their pin for everything 😂
Hello Wally🌟🤗😅👏👏👏
I have visited people who live in psychiatric nursing homes, but never saw anybody act this goofy.
Hey Wally, awesome vid as per usual, however i have a slight disagreement with you around the 20:00 mark
I don't think it's too far out of the ordinary to have an annotated translation. Yeah, it makes the verse clunky to read, but i can easily imagine a translator adding a note along the lines of "this is what this phrase means."
Everything else, A+
We found manuscript of Matt. 24:14, This good news will be preached to ALL the nations. BUT in our coming May WT article we will discuss that NOT ALL NATION will hear good news😅😂
I remember growing up as a JW when we had a Convention/Assembly I was excited only to be Disappointed the Theme/ Title was New but the Talks was repetitive and boring same old story just a different day…I’m glad I’m not in anymore waste of time !!!… I hope the next generation doesn’t fall for this CULT nonsense !!!
Wally- Thank You so much for great input again (:
I've always wondered Why gospels have names not common in Jewish culture ?
Now I'm going to count the number of times I see the Wonder Woman symbol when I see that guy
Modern Bible scholars all agree that none of the books were actually written by those names such as Mark, Mathew, Luke and John.
First speaker could pass for Max Headroom
Soo...all of this about being eye witnesses...how do they explain Saul/Paul? That one always got me when I was in
Mt 24,15: The words "Daniel" and "βδέλυγμα" only appear there and the corresponding part of Mk (that tries to mitigate the ridiculous anticlimax of Mt 24,15 ff).
In the whole NT. While JWs meanwhile learnt to accept, that the Mk 16,9 ff had been added in a quite crude way, they refuse to acknowledge the obvious.
❤❤❤
The Elon Musk story kiiiiiiilled me!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
26:55 Bro has a Winnie the Pooh voice, psycho-wide eyes, and... you're right!! a Wonder Woman "five-head" loll!! 😱 😂😂😂
Respectfully,Watchtower has a Black Stephen Lett😅😅👍🏾
So an illiterate Aramaic speaking peasant first wrote his account in Hebrew, then in fluent Greek and in the Third Person. Wow. I didn’t realise that. Thank you Watchtower
The cult originated from the Bible Student Movement... so you'd think they would have a better grasp on their own scripture.
Russell said you needed to read his writings without them the bible was meaningless. In fact he recommended to buy his material and give it out as Xmas gifts.
Didn’t know you are in Seattle. I’m in Tacoma
Honestly more then anything it still surprises me that JW use b.c.e and c.e. I'd have expected them to want to keep b.c and a.d.
Is that a block out window behind you Wally? Just can't make out what it is, and it's bugging me. Anne from London.
Oh my God you live in Seattle? I do anything to live inSeattle :D
They like to show their “scientific” side… but I can’t bear listening to that Splane’s breathless talk, it seems he is going to leave his last breath at any moment…😅
He said correctly that Zechariah prophesied about the 30 pieces of silver but actually 'Matthew' screwed up: Matthew 27 vs 9 says Jeremiah spoke those words.
I don't get why they even need their own bible. Sure, they modify a few terms and so on, but not as much to require another bible. They can still hold non-trinitarian universalist Christian beliefs without a new Bible. What is even the point?
To legitimize their "movement". They couldn't preach against Babylon The Great while holding fast to the KJ version or some other translation. Using their own translation with their renderings makes it easier to evangelize.
Whenever you have to rewrite a book to fit your narrative something is seriously wrong!
Me: That guy has a mole.
JW: No. He has a hairy, moley mole. You can make guacamole out if it.
26:49 did he learn how to give a talk from Stephen Lett?
Squint... Ok... BIG EYES!!! Now squint... BIG EYES!!! Yes, that's it. That's how to show emotions.
Who is that narrator?... Brother Groundskeeper Willie?
No, the Window Washer, the one who is on the Hospital Liason Committee (HLC) for JWs who makes sure JW patients don’t agree to blood transfusions!
Holy Wonder Woman !
Do love his Scottish accent tho!
The thing is none of the GB or people writing the JW literature studied Greek or Hebrew ,their JW bible was written by a spiritist that had contact with the other side .The name jehovah is a mistranslation by a Spanish monk.
Aww Zeezy. Today I lost my beloved cat Molly! She
from what i learnt studying this is Mark is the oldest gospel written around the time of the Jewish revolt just after the destruction of the temple Mathew written around 20 years after along with Luke and the last one written was John. the oldest Christian writing are the book of acts and the Didache. also Hebrew was not spoken in 1st century Judea is was dialect's of Aramaic and Greek. Hebrew at that point was only spoken as a liturgical language and only the priest and the Rabbis could speak it. the fraise “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” is actually Aramaic. i could pick apart pritty much everything they are saying but i don't want to bore people to death
What is the Didache? It’s not boring at all.
Wonder Woman forehead 💀💀😂
The NEW MEMBERS to ASK MORE MONEY,. They LOOK very “EVILS”
28 minutes, is he not like a ‘worldly’ pastor?
19:30 all a JW would say in response was that it just shows that the writing was inspired since god caused Matthew to translate the phrase for a larger audience to come. And JW’s will eat that up.
So God loves teared manuscripts ones (as a puzzle) to be found than a perfect ones that could’ve been the BEST and FASTEST way to let people repent😅I thought Nothing is Impossible to God, why couldn’t attached All those torned manuscripts and show a COMPLETE ORIGINAL of it😅
Not talking about their features... But the way they talk and am i seeing makeup on their perfect faces? I only thought of vampyrism with those appearance. I dont mind makeup on men or whatever but those talks gave me the same feeling as the movie "interview with the vampire" (from the 90s). Intruiging but scary.
And as late as 100-120CE Paul's letters were first
We are not bofoons but I wonder how wise you are?
😂😂 you're not supposed to be here, your 'elders' will reprove you!
Where you read the account of Jesus saying "My God! My God!" in Aramaic-
There are videos here of what that sounded like in Aramaic and I must say it sounds like Arabic for Allah.
Arabic, Aramaic and Hebrew are sister languages.
Semitic languages. All three have very similar words for God.
I always hated going to conventions. The talks are boring and drawn out. I also hate going into large crowds.
So if Matthew Mark Luke and John are the last to write from God why did I have to read Revelations so hard? It wasn't written by any of them.
Everyone debates the bible. The entire new testament was written within 130years after Yeshua, but probably within 80years.
No one wants to question the quran which was written some 300years after muhammed.......
Do they literally sit at these now watching only videos?
Hello: next time you came to California, Los Angeles, reply me , so we can have Lunck, dinner. Respectfully “Ruben”
There is so much depth in the story when allow for non literal reading. - like the way Matthew creates Moses echoes to signal Jesus as the new rescuer
No no no not in Hebrew first, scholars all agree written in Greek, there are clear clues. Esp in Matt the quotes are from the Greek translation of the OT, leading to the whole virgin issue. . Yes there was an Aramaic version but later, just as Latin, Coptic translations etc
Why does the dude look like a ps1 vampire villain pre-reveal when he is still just foreshadowing?
