7:02 my mind broke a little with that cut
I gotta say yamiks is the guy that got me into playing elite dangerous in the first place and this was the first of his videos that I watched. I finally got the game and thought "that ship looks awesome I need it" and so I grinded for about three months (having never heard of the ngalinn run before) and the clipper is the one ship that I am trying to fully a grade. It is the perfect ship for me and thank you yamiks for introducing me to one of my most played and favourite games.
I just wish this ship could land on a Medium pad like the Python, then it would be almost perfect. Well, aside from the weird cranial bump thing you pointed out. Can't unsee it now. Great video, as usual
I could live with it, as it isn't such a big issue for me... If only it wasn't the my lacking of imp ranks
I really like that craniacal thing, also the clipper was my first real ship so i have some kind of nostalgia towards it. Definitly never sell it

I’ve been doing courier mission between Ngalinn and Mainani. I’ve just hit Baron rank and it took maybe 2-3 hours of fairly laid back courier work.
Waiting for this to release on PS 4. I didn't have a faction preference, but now thanks to your videos, I serve the Empire!

I loved my clipper so much back when i played previously. Started up again and decided to wipe my save completely to experience all the new stuff from the beginning. I am getting that damn clipper back if it kills me!
Random thought: Given the lack of weapon convergence and the average shields, yet the outstanding speed and maneuverability, could this be a good platform for AX multicannon turrets? It would be perfect for Thargoid Scout hunting. Thoughts??

Is Clipper good for passengers mission?, I'm using Python for trading only for now.
:-) Currently, my favorite general purpose ship. I didn't grind for it but I'm glad I got one. I really appreciate and have fun with it. It's my cargo, passenger, exploration, and privateering (Not Piracy) ship. It's so true to its' historic namesake and IMO, one of the best designed ships in the game.

“Fly from the right side.” Bruh, the captain sits on the left side of the cockpit while the co-pilot right, so if I ever board your ship and sit in the left seat that means I’m the captain now and I have final authority on the operation of that ship.

Just got mine, gave it the Blue color. I like it... It's great for cargo running and killing unsuspecting NPC's and Players alike... Four engineered gimballed multi-cannons are surprisingly good for this ship... I'll be unironically using it for the Federal Rank grind missions....

I just wish it had legs.. i dont mind the off set cockpit on the big ships, but the fer-de-lance? I just cant get over it. Im always fighting my fsd over target alignment. I really feel like it needs a an extra medium hardpoint, or a fighter bay.

i love my clipper, favorite ship in the game to fly.
i use dual efficient beams and a focused bl and cannon(large heal beams, mid gimb cannon and bl focused concordant turret..
i just use a type 7 bi-weaves and a full set of boosters, it dosnt need chaff or even fucking point defence the way i have it setup, i can solo elite vettes without losing shields or running or using banks... time consuming but... feels soo goood ;)

Ah, well old, but just in case, the reason why on the right side is because most people are right handed and are armed with their right hand, so if you pass someone on horse or cart on the right then you are both equally able to defend yourself. The reason for being on the left hand side is Napoleon was a fastidious cavalryman. Seriously. When you get off a horse, if you're right handed you get off on the left side of the horse and up from that side too. So if you pass right hand, you will be in the left lane and if you're in the left lane the left hand side of the horse means you're standing in the gutter to get on or off your horse. And that is the bit that isn't well packed and therefore will be muddy, even if it isn't used for "runoff". So places that were overrun by France in its empire days went right hand traffic and therefore sitting on the left. France was the reason why the USA got started and also why the won their independence: before France's entry into the war the US irregulars were losing BADLY. The french blockaded the British supplies and produced actually trained soldiers that could fire their guns accurately enough and work together as a unit and thereby increase their fighting capability. And to celebrate beating the Brits, France gave the USA a statue.

I have spent more time in this ship than any other in the game so far.... and I didn't have to grind for it (there was an event where you could buy an Imperial ship regardless of rank).
I found turrets for those large hardpoints to be a decent option. Since they are out on those pods they can cover a massive area and can pretty much shoot anything that isn't below you. You can just orbit around an enemy and just watch your turrets slowly chisel them away... well see them on your HUD and it is a strangely satisfying thing to me to take a ship from full to dead without ever looking at them.

Remember kids don't do drugs and the cheapest place to buy an A rated Clipper in the galaxy is Hahn Orbital in the Bandizel system ,inside Li Yong-Rui space.

Somewhere between 2:14 and 2:15. Those frames will haunt me for the rest of my days.
Type 7 has the same number of internals and are pretty uniform, but costs 5 million less and no grind required. The Imp Clipper vary in internal size, so if you don't mind the grind and being on your knees, go for it. I'll keep the Type 7.
You should get Obsidian Ant for the imperial cutter so you will have someone who knows about the benefits of imperialism.
best imperial ship in-game in my opinion in terms of design. in imperialness it's the cutter.

I wish you could get "second hand" imperial and federation ships. Obviously they're not fresh out the factory so their stats wouldn't be quite as good but would be cool I like this ship but I don't like the Empire.

Didn't mention one of the main benefits of the Python over it - Pad size, if the clipper could do medium pads everyone would be flying one.
I just achieved Baron rank a few days ago and have banked up over 150 million so far. I've had the clipper in mind throughout the entire looooong assed grind ( no simple how-to videos followed, just pure grind) But now that it's at my very fingertips .......I've decided to setup camp on a very comfortable fence and just stay put. I was surprised to see that Yamiks didn't absolutely rip this ship apart as he has usually done to most of the others in the past. So, maybe, this was the green light I've been subconsciously waiting for. If anything, this will just be the intermediatary ship I use on the way up to aquiring the grand prize. The mother f###ing Cutter!
I went from vulture strait for python and I gotta say : only thing cutter is better at is maneuverability!
actually the cutter's maneuverability sucks, it's like flying a really nice looking brick. while it dose have the strongest shields in the game, it's not really a ship you want to fight in. what the cutter is really good for is trading, it has the biggest cargohold in the game. i can usually get in the top 10% of community goals with just a single run.
I did the same thing, but I never sold my clipper. It's just too awesome.
I'm sitting in my clipper now. Just spent 60 million for a freaking A rated shield. Sunnuva.......
Credible Witness I did the same when I finally was able to get a Clipper. Kind of just ended up being completely unsure if it was worth it, then got it, didn't like it too much, went back to the Python for a bit, recently got it again, and after a little engineering, the Clipper is my absolute favorite, combat ship with a decent jump range, two SRVs and some cargo space wasn't something I expected.
