when an FDL joins a fight, everyone stops what they're doing to shoot it down on principle...
An all multi cannon loadout with 4 medium and 1 huge it just destroys shields and Hull and don't need lot of pips to wep and over 1000 MJ shields :)
I love the FDL. It's my current go-to bounty hunting ship. And as a Brit, it's nice to have something with seats the right way around!

To answer your first question there is a entrance on the rear left hand side between the thrusters with a lift that folds out and lowers to the ground. You can clearly see it in third person camera. Also its mentioned in the novels.
Am I the only one who would pay extra for a cupholder? Only problem is when you get interdicted and it spills everywhere
Im actually more curious about these ships actually having artifical gravity on them in the first place. Otherwise the cupholder might be a waste of money.
Now with frameshift gravity magic... for your beverages.
Maybe it would be a magnetic cup holder then you could hit a button for easy release of your drink, and as long as it has a lid or something no spillage!

It looks like a ship built smart. Lifting body impression plus some fins and wings for atmosphere and maybe even super or trans sonic combat in atmosphere (probably mostly zoom and boom), but also well-suited for space operations. It really gives me the impression of a ship meant to zip through the atmosphere, blow the shit out of bad guys, and then blast off back to space. Like a giant, murderous Peregrine.

Yes, the weird placement of the cargo scoop does need some getting used to, however if you keep the thingymabob you're trying to pick up just below the middle of the crosshairs, it goes just fine. :)
One of the few that fit their name in this game... Fer De Lance... A snake who get's it's (modern) name from spanish conquistadors. Named for it's deadliness. People don't really survive this thing, especially then. Fer De Lance means "spear head"... This ship is shaped like a spear head.
Hey Yamiks! Sorry for the new comment on an old video, but 70 million for A-Rated? I've been researching the FDL for the last few days, and to A-rate the important stuff and D-rate the rest of it, it would cost around 112 million credits, not accounting for the discount in Li Yong Rui systems.
Maybe something has changed drastically since this video? If that's the case, I'm wondering what that is.

TheYamiks okay that makes a lot of sense, bulkheads are like what 50mil? I was doing passenger missions today in one of the system's you recommended, and halfway to the station, about 200,000 light seconds, I got interdicted by a vulture that ripped through my Type 7's 5A shields and brought my Integrity down to 50, had to jump to a different system and lose all my progress, and give up the passenger missions because I had to leave for work. I'm saying all this to say, I really miss doing combat haha

Every time I see a Fer de Lance I think of the Centurion from Wing Commander Privateer. I wonder if ED intentionally went with the overall look.

As much as I like this ship for combat wish it had at least another class 5 optional internal and another class 1 so I could at least collect materials with limpets.
This ship is my _love_ for the same reason some other ships are: It's _hardcore_ specialized to its specific purpose, and that's how I roll. I am not the type to have generalist ships - I bought and engineered ships hyper-specialized for specific purposes. So the FdL is exactly for me, as it's unrivaled at that one specific thing it does.
In the Space Shuttle the pilot was sitting in the right seat. Ok but the Commander was the one to fly that thing so maybe you're right.
I bought a FDL about a week ago, haven't engineered it yet, and I just beat the living shit out of a Python, three vipers, a couple of Cobras, an Asp Scout, and another FDL in a HazRes - without any hull damage. A rated functionals, hull tank, shield tank, huge beam laser, and 4 multicannons - I cannot wait to engineer this thing. I can, literally, strafe-swing around a Python, while it's trying to turn into me, and chew it up while barely getting hit at all.
I think the best use for this ship is in a wing with 2 FDLs tanked up and a Python with defense, cargo racks, and limpets.
This was without a doubt the most ridiculous review of a spaceship ever.

try mounting ur Multi cannons on the left, and the Hammers on the right hardpoints. it will be weird first because it's not symmetrical, but trust me. once you get the Hang of, youll love it :3
If this ship had a centered tandem seated bubble canopy for the cockpit like in the F14D and F15E it would be the perfect heavy fighter for me.
The most confusing thing about this game is wearing space suits. Eye and ear protection so if you’re spaced your eyes don’t fry and your ears don’t blow out so you can suffocate more comfortably I could understand. But suits? If you’re spaced it’s probably better to just hurry up and suffocate instead of slowly drifting away as your oxygen gradually depletes and you await death over the course of hours. Or being maimed by debris, shrapnel, or whatever else is flying around in a battle so then your suit lets you die both more slowly and in great agony.
Like how sailors back whenever didn’t bother trying to survive going overboard. Just inhale and let it end quickly. Sailing the void is no different than the Age of Sail in that regard. Unless you’re in a populated system then you’ll probably get picked up within a few minutes. But exploring? Yeah nope.

Original 90s Frontier game had "Lion transport". I think devs must add some kind of medium transport ship to Saud Kruger line, like Adder. It can be those iconic "Lion transport". Armed like Mamba, fast transport with curvey lines.

I bought that ship and i'm personally satisfied. For me it's much better for PVE and PVP then any other. For cargo, planetary scan etc. i have Python.

there are reasons to buy horizons for sure :
* planetary landings (all the alien stuff + more)
* engineers (a MUST for PVP, but has huge grind)
reasons not to buy :
* encouraging devs to continue doing the season pass bullshit
* the cost
I would not buy Horizons- Play the stock game and see if you feel like you will get your moneys worth out of it- If you DO like and are willing, then buy the expansion.

The reason there are no cupholders is because the glass would just fly right out of it with the extreme twists and turns you would pull flying the thing.
When you take a speedboat, add a massive engine, ram thrusters on the back end, and slap a ton of guns.

within two weeks of Getting ED, I had a fully A-Rated Anaconda... and Boy, that Ship was boring. Then However, I Got An FDL, and I must Admit... it's Super Fun. Two years and an Imperial Cutter later, I still use my FDL for Bounty Hunting

Zorgon Peterson, manufacturer of peasant tier merchant vessels, and Saud Kruger, manufacturer of luxury passenger ships, when come together, make one of the best skirmishers in the game. I have no idea how this happened, but you cannot deny they did a great job with creating a very competent fighter.
