They have said that since it's a large ship that was modified to become a medium ship(Game lore), the Python isn't big enough to hold a slf apparently. The keelback is more T H I C C so it can hold a slf no problem.

The Python is my workhorse (I dislike the Conda and still no Vette) for basically everything, unless I take some specialized ship for explo, surface or passengers' mission. The thing it absolutely needs is a lvl 5 dirty drive thruster, - or it is a brick.

One thing I do not like about Python is this cockpit, the pilot is not centralized on the ship. It makes me uncomfortable this co-pilot on the side, just like the Cobra, I did not buy exactly because of that.
So...its a flying ass?

The 8 between the 6 and 9 was actually a quality joke. A rare opportunity to make that joke and it worked.
My heart will forever belong to the Cobra Mk III, but the Python is my mainstay ship. The cockpit is similar enough to the Cobra that I don't feel like I'm cheating on her when I take the Python out.
Also, and I'm being more than halfway serious here, the Python got me laid. In real life. Wanted to show off the wonders of the Elite universe, so I included a tour in multicrew (VR) as part of a date. Yeah, it's the nerdiest thing I've ever done on a date, but we had a great time. And also had a great time. ;-) Thanks, Faulcon DeLacy!

EVERYthing is right.. particularly mining. Mining completely sucks until you can afford the python, where you have enough space for cargo, good refineries, controllers, and plenty of power left for weapons to destroy pirates.

I just pimped the shit out of my Python and I just realized that the extensive ship kit combo that spatula has makes it look a bit like an SR-71. Just screams awesome pants feelings!

Before getting my anaconda, this ship was the one. Still have mine with all it's mods stored somewhere.
Edit: my python got me to the galaxy center and back in DW2, I've left it's paint at 0% and it's been in storage mostly. But I fully A graded it because it deserves to be (6E thrusters? Nonono)
I LOVE MY PYTHONS, BEST SHIPS EVER. Great video as fu*king always. I think they should restore the python back to it original spec before Fdev nerf her because SHE WAS ACTUALLY WORTH A FU*K and the fan boys were grabbing their butts and crying. But then they made the Clipper which is fast maneuverable and so large it can't land on medium Dock. DOES THAT MAKE FU*king SENSED. YAK STAY hard and keep up the good work.

Now the Type 10 is on the way, I would like to see a Type 8 too. It puts my ocd into overdrive.
i would like to put in point that makes the python so good.. sure its stock maneuverability isnt all that good. even upgraded to a rating and engineered.. its still a tug boat.. UNLESS................... you are boosting. from what ive experienced (after flying the majority of the ships in the game) the python gets one of the biggest buffs to maneuverability from boosting. so ive made an unorthodox build with it, always have 4 pips to engines so you can constantly boost.
It still feels a lot more agile than a ship its size has any right being, though.
I'm doing Quince runs to save up for a Python, at first I was gonna get a Type-9 but after seeing the cargo space and speed on this ship I changed my mind.
The Type-9 is good for heavy haulage but it is horrible for escaping interdiction as that is way easier in the Type-7 and as for combat if you are pulled out....run, run for the damn hills as fast as you can because even the turrets all over it do not help. I almost got ganked by an npc Eagle...
However, 5 gold runs will get you nearly 100,000,000
I use the Python for deep core mining. I tried upgrading to the Anaconda for that purpose, but after reading Reddit, sold the ‘Conda and bought a new Python. Someday I’ll get another ‘Conda for exploring. Either that or fucking up settlements in Imperial systems by having it carry a Scorpion, because fuck those slaving zealots.
I could be wrong, but I think there's some useful information somewhere in this video.
I am re-watching this for the 3rd time or something. I'm still laughing! Python is by far my favorite ship so far! Also I guess Latvian priorities are similar to Bulgarian priorities. Might not have good wages, economy, etc... but 1gigabit connection for your home at a reasonable price? Sure! :D

OMG - I had to watch this video multiple times in order to hear everything, as I was laughing so much - my belly ached. Over the top and vulgar overkill somewhat, but I enjoyed it none the less. {Much more than a Duke Nukem review. }
On a serious note - yes, I agree, the Python is one of my favorite ships.
If I got the change for ship progression I would start with a Python(A-Graded & Engineered to high heaven & back for multi purpose) then the Kraits(Phantom being Exploration Ganker for Anti Ganking).
Oh Yamiks if Delacy & Zorgon each made a new ship they would be Delacy's Anaconda/Python-Hybrid & Zorgon's FDL/Mamba-Hybrid(WITH FUCKING CUPHOLDERS THIS TIME DEVS).

iv put all my money and materials in pimping out my python it turned out pretty well beside that i haven’t unlock a grade 5 engineer for thrusters and shields

Python is a bulky viper 3. Love it. Its on my list to get. Love the vipers. Been merc hunting in my eagle, asp explorer, courier and imperial eagle. Not too interested in a bulk freighter. Python seems more fighter/freighter to me. Plus ship kits fit nice and actually look great imo.

It all depends on your needs. If you have to show up with collector limpets and mining lasers in a comfort zone every once in a while nothing beats a Python!

What loadout would you recommend for a multipurpose asp explorer. Hardpoints, utility and optional internals.
Everything ...... like just for hardpoints mix it between lasers and multis . The asp is so flexible just fly out to a Li yong rui system and start messing around until you make your new baby .

I have bought and sold the python like twice and.... I never bonded with it. I know i *should* like it... But there was never that feeling of power I get from my cutter, nor nippiness i got from my asp or courier. At every stage i thought: well, I have a better ship for this...
That said, bonded right away with my Krait Mk2. Just the right amount of twitchy and power between the courier and the cutter i needed for a medium fighter/freighter/miner
