Yamiks Python review: “if only Python could have fighter bay” Krait: is ctrl+v Python with fighter bay Yamiks “Glorious almighty Python is superior!” *joystick session*
@ISPY4ever I have the keelback, have been doing some mining and trading. Found a great silver/gold trading spot that takes 10 mins per loop and $3-3.5million, almost no one bothers me
Yknow when I first picked up this ship u looked around and noticed the wires I had seen his conda review the first I thought was "Yamiks will have fun with this"
There's a rumor, that the most fearsome CMDR of the pilots federation faced off against two medusa class interceptors alone and he won albeit his hull was left at 33% integrity. On his way to Jameson Memorial, while he was making a coffee, he tripped on an exposed wire on the floor and hit is head on a counter... His demise thus came in an unexpected manner.... Some say, he never existed, after all, no one seems to know his name. Others tell this story to their child as a way to teach there's no escaping death, when death comes it gets you one way or another. Others yet, do believe this rumour, and are out there in deep space looking for his lost ship, still no results. I for one, always order my crew to cover any exposed wires on the floors and walls...
Love to see ObsidianAnt's classy Brit style contrast to the one-and-only Yamiks! It's like the two best examples of Elite's opposite poles, in one video!
Now I generally don't mind exposed wiring as much as Yamiks, but I have to say that one cable on the floor is a massive fucking tripping hazard, no way did Health and Safety sign off on that.

i have a theory :P obsidian ant is yamiks or the other way around ;) he is just trolling us ( replace the he with one of the 2 youtube personalities ) LUL
The Krait is my baby. I love it. I love how it looks both on the outside and inside. I love the view from the cockpit and having the weapons right next to my ears. I love the coffee machine in the back and yes, I actually love that the wires are held together by fucking duct tape in the 34th century. And I love how it sounds. The boost sound made me nut twice when I first heard it. Been waiting on this review just to hear Yamiks' thoughts on the wires in the cockpit. Was not disappointed xD
The opposing dynamic of these two creators is wonderful. It is like a short discount version of 9 Feet Under with Bruce Willis and Matthew Perry. Dope.
I actually like... accessable wires, I can imagine my commander frantically reaching at them to repair battle damage mid battle, or the explorer xasually doing routine mantince as he floats about
And... Im loving it. Straight to my Fav M size ship. I just engineeried it pretty much, and for combat is so so fun! I never bounded with the pyton and I found the Chieftain not that bad but the krait... Oh man, u can put down a row of deadly anacondas pretty easily. And even if I agree on the upside down design, I embraced it fully by now: Its a mix of a vulture and the millennium falcon!
I have literally every ship in the game save for the Beluga, and yeah... the Krait is now my favorite medium sized ship too. Honestly these days I'd say it's my favorite ship overall. It loses out on a single size 6 internal and a miniscule amount of shield/hull, but when engineered it doesn't matter much. And the speed and agility... so good.
Katherine Winyala I've been waiting for a ship like this for Sooooo long! Really, it's since the dear old vulture days that I can't hang at happly in the space
3 beams (I don't remember the eng) 2 multicannons with extended magazines n side effects , overcharged PP, weapon oriented PD with cooling if I'm right, long fsd (25/26 ly) dirty thrusters, long wake/warranty scanner, 2 heavy duty Shield booster, thermal/kinetic/explosive generic Shield generator, hull and armor. That's pretty much all.
I loved how you two both kept your own unique style (which is soo much different, someone said bellow, the oposit pole) yet it come so well together! Brilliant!
I think this was the collaboration I anticipated the most when I started watching ED content. This was amazing, and the contrast between your styles played out just how I had hoped it would~ The review itself was great, as well! Well scripted, well voiced, and the cinematography was fine as hell~ You've come a long way since those early "ten minutes of gameplay" videos, Yamiks :D Can't wait to see who you get for the Challenger "review"!
lol, loved the dynamics of you two in a video together. Had a good laugh thank you to both of you. I personally love this ship. I have made it my new main ship. I even finished unlocking a few of the engineers I had never bothered with before just so I can teak it out to the max.
They seem to have run into a problem: any role in the game has pretty much been filled. If they add new ships now, they will either be redundant, useless or replace an old ship in the game - the only direction is yet bigger ships and new gameplay variants.
Obsidian Ant, chill AF, a voice that reminds you of your grandad telling a bedtime story, always level headed and reasonable, willing to give everything the benefit of the doubt. Yamiks, acts like a 12 year old on crack, shits on everything, heavy accent from a fictional country in marvel comic books, here to tell jokes and chew bubblegum and he's all out of bubblegum. My favorite polar opposite extremes working together in one video, pure awesome.
Several things 1) Nice to see ObsidianAnt let his hair down. Gotta be exhausting looking at all the best views of the galaxy through the ancient Asp. 2) Krait is my baby, I will spoon feed this ship rainbows and sunshine all day. 3) Get into a Krait, Cockpit view, look directly up, see that thing? Remember that thing. Now turn the camera suite on, outside view, go above the ship, look directly down at the cockpit. Do you see it? 4) Pretty sure the Coffee maker is unplugged, please tell me I am wrong!!!!
i still dont understand why would anyone leave wires so exposed my guess is that if anything breaks or something they can cut the power manually and stuff, this ship while being a all arounder always rubbed me as a combat ship, still the ship interior is as messy as my room
3:38 Those are for accidentally hooking yourself onto the toast rack and getting destroyed by the station's guns as a punishment for obstructing the mail slot. Believe me! I am talking from my experience.
I personally love the exposed wires. It's a very practical ship, not something fancy like a Gutamaya or Saud Kruger. I remember the moment I finally cared about earning an anaconda way back in 1.3 when friends were ranting, like Yamiks about the wires lol.
I really love the krait as an exploration ship Was able to fit everything I need and more, while also arming it and engineering it to still get a 50ly jump range with and srv and slf, best multi purpose ship in my opinion
Top ship review as always Yamiks, and having Obsidian Ant along makes it even better. Love your Elite livestreams too, as they make for really good entertainment while I -grind- play Elite.
Just got my Krait, after and Asp X>Chieftain>Challenger route. And I love it. I never wanted this ship, but now I have it...it's just the most fun to fly. I can't believe how much cargo I've got, and how powerful it is. Looking forward to pushing it to the limits.
Keep up collabs with ObsidianAnt, you guys have some of the best comedic comedy, the opposites you guys have makes it all so hilarious! His flat dead pan comedy and sarcasm combined with your histerics is comedy gold, please, please, please do more collabs with him!!! :):D
You can get 47ly jump with all stuff needed for exploration with grade 5 long range fsd and largest guardian fsd booster (also you can strip down your modules for some more)
Im with Ant on this, the Krait mk2 has become my new daily driver for exploration. I have it at nearly the same jump range as my old asp, and this one is capable of defending its's self in a fight
That was the most epic review ever. You guys are a like a double-act lol. I’m at work laughing like an idiot. Really looking forward to hopefully more collaborations between you guys. I love the Krait, it’s become my favorite ship. Awesome for multi-role. It feels like a zippier Python with the views of an Asp Explorer. Looks amazing in VR, fun to fly... I even love the wires everywhere. Looks like I’ve modded it myself, Han Solo style. And the positioning of those class-2 hard-points is genius. And I love the antennae on the wings - without those it wouldn’t be a Krait, so they are essential to the look. Nothing wrong with bringing more classic ships from the original games back as an updated model - personally I love that. So definitely with Obsidian Ant on this one. But Yamiks you are a comedy genius lol.
Love the whole style of the Krait MK II. Currently saving up for one. On another note, I wasn’t too sure about this video at the start... but the “COFFEE COFFEE COFFEE” bit followed by the repeated squeaky asteroid collision killed me. I subbed after that.
I love this ship. It’s the one i have spent the most time in, i had the python, did 2 mining trips in it and then sold it. I found it very uninspiring and dull. I really don’t get all the love for it! But yet again another great video!
Thanks Yamiks, your comments made my morning coffee come out of my nose at high velocity. You owe me a new keyboard. P.S Coffee makes a great nasal enema...
MUST... RESIST... "KRAITEST"... PUN... **takes deep breath** Okay, so this was one of the... nicest videos I've seen in a long time. Dat intro -- dem legs -- dem puns. HILARIOUS. Great collaboration!
The SLF outweighs the tiny bit lower shields and hull imo (and the 1 less class 5 optional internal) plus the noticeable improvement in manouverability and speed. Definitely a worthy contender at the least.
No probs. I think that the loss of a class 6 compared to a python is a good trade off for having an SLF bay. A class 5 or less would not have made it balanced. And when you have a billion credits, the price is irrelevant, especially A rated, so the price difference has no meaning. HOWEVER, coming up earning from the bottom the price IS a very big difference.
I can see someone skipping the Python in the progression now if they get into a Krait and engineer it to suit them. The Krait's better for running fixed weaponry compared to the Python which will give it a DPS advantage on top of the existing DPS advantage from the SLF.
Two ED juggernauts coming together! I mean Erectile Dysfunction that is lol. Best collab to date my two favorite channels coming together. It's a fun contrast between Obsidians silky voice and the...aggressively abrasive voice of Yamiks. Keep up the great work you guys both rock
Exposed wiring is pretty standard aboard military - type ships and planes; saves weight and makes systems more accessible for maintenance, repair, and damage control.
I've found the Krait is an excellent ship for exploration. It can hold an SRV bay and a fighter bay, and with help from a Guardian FSD booster, you can still reach a jump range of 50 light-years in it. The Anaconda can get better range, but the limited field of view and maneuverability still makes the Krait a better choice to me.
Really funny and balanced review. A stroke of genious to have Obsidian being the positive guy, and Yamiks being the negative rant dude that he usually does best. :) I give this video 10/10 because of the humor, the voice of reason and proper information.
Well played, sirs. You should e-mail the intro to FD with a tag "Fixed it for you..." And yes, the wires are definitely on purpose just to tip Yam-Yam over the edge..
In all seriousness, as a VR user, holy SHIT does this ship look better than other ships. ObsidianAnt mentioned the textures were still too low-res but they're higher-res than many ship interiors and the selection of textures and materials are excellent. There's tons of little details (including the ladder to get up to the upper level mostly folded away, and the coffee maker/model). The green color is horrific but I'd honestly say that Krait looks like the most realistically lived-in ship in the game with the highest level of detail. Compare to the also 3-seater Anaconda, which is a giant empty expanse of 30 foot console with just a few sparse controls on it and empty flooring and everything looks like bland plastic. Exterior looks good, too, a bit more detail-work than most other ships. It feels like Frontier's art process has been getting better over time, with one exception: Aforementioned Anaconda and Federal Corvette. Two very early ships but both had their interiors entirely redesigned when multicrew came out. Anaconda had a crescent pattern to the seats and way more extraneous consoles which helped fill out the space and corvette had one seat actually facing perpendicular to the pilot's seat and a bunch of extra displays. Both of them lost their extra displays/consoles and had their seats moved and rotated to face forward. Was probably because other directions made people sick in VR but the result is that they have some of the worst interiors in the game now--and this happened midway through Horizons, so it's not excused for being early in the dev process. Might have been a quick hack job to fit into the multicrew release schedule, though.
Those legs though!! :D
totally accurate
Thought that was your voice in this video. My two favorite E.D. RUclipsrs in one video!
It is...
Finally got there! ;-)
Sexy space legs
Obsidian Ant intro.... when I heard his voice I had to double check that this was a Yamiks vid. Love it!
we both recorded lines and as it happened for the spoof parody his voice worked the best.. ofc!
Narlanx same
Same
lol, soo true!
hope u let us hear your version at some point too :D
I feel as if they included the exposed wires just to annoy you.
me too!
Space Wizard I'm 100% sure of this
Also, it is a wedge... Again... A FUCKING WEDGE AGAIN DELACY WHY?! They keep on selling us wedges! Just stop DeLacy, just stop...
@@schiefer1103 python and anaconda aren't wedges
working as intended then, A+!
Yamiks Python review: “if only Python could have fighter bay”
Krait: is ctrl+v Python with fighter bay
Yamiks “Glorious almighty Python is superior!” *joystick session*
@ISPY4ever yeah but the Krait can carry 6 fighter, which is two fighters to help with dangers or targets
@ISPY4ever I have not got it yet, but working on it. Just started the game like four days ago
@ISPY4ever I have the keelback, have been doing some mining and trading. Found a great silver/gold trading spot that takes 10 mins per loop and $3-3.5million, almost no one bothers me
Yknow when I first picked up this ship u looked around and noticed the wires I had seen his conda review the first I thought was "Yamiks will have fun with this"
LOVE the look of this ship, especially the exposed wires. Reminds me of an old YT-1300!
Replicant Monk my thoughts exactly

perhaps his name was Raxla, and thats what weve been looking for all this time???
Yamiks+ObsidianAnt= FREAKING AWESOME!
Now make this a new COVAS voice combo and we are done.
I approve of your profile picture
I want more ObsidianAnt X Yamiks content.
i doubt porn will be a thing that will exist but we shall see what else there is to be had!
TheYamiks Well I didn't mean for Rule 34 to come into play here but then I remembered that you're, well, you.
TheYamiks Too late..
ObsidianAnt plays a good straight man to Yamiks cloudcuckoolander tendencies. Good comedy.
There's fanfiction for that.
Zoomy well its like a pirates/smuggler ship so.. if you wanted uptight and neatly go with imperial ships.
Hey, pirates deserve a safe working environment too!
#Pirateslivesmatter

Lakon has H&S?
At least we get a window from Delacy that ISNT a tiny 6x6 glass pane...
Omg ObsidanAnt with that "oh, you have one of those?" I'm dying
Has Yamiks' voice finally broken for that intro?
It's Obsidian Ant, unless you were being sarcastic :D
Who? 😂
sarcasm in comments doesn't come through lol, use the search bar haha
i have a theory :P obsidian ant is yamiks or the other way around ;) he is just trolling us ( replace the he with one of the 2 youtube personalities ) LUL
You never see the two together in the same room at the same time....
It's a giant, upside down Viper. Nobody's changed my mind yet.
Also: it's fun to hear a different side of ObsidianAnt.
that's it, not watching anymore the first part can't be toped
January7 right 😂
I can’t tell some of what ObsidianAnt is saying there. I wish there was a link to that part of the script or something :/
Been waiting on this review just to hear Yamiks' thoughts on the wires in the cockpit. Was not disappointed xD
Can we talk about that GODLY boost sound?
Damn right! They went full on muscle car engine! I sometimes deliberately stop just so I can listen to it throttle up again.
Phantom sounds sexy too
The opposing dynamic of these two creators is wonderful. It is like a short discount version of 9 Feet Under with Bruce Willis and Matthew Perry. Dope.
I actually rather like the exposed wires. Gives the ship a kind of lived-in feeling.
Lived in feeling, on a new ship?........... Uhh Ok.
SinSear001 I get it, it doesn't make sense from a lore perspective, but it's the style of it I like.
Hijiku Brynjar I never thought of it like that, but now I do and you just made me love my krait solo much more now
I actually like... accessable wires, I can imagine my commander frantically reaching at them to repair battle damage mid battle, or the explorer xasually doing routine mantince as he floats about
I think that's the point of exposed wires and I like itt.
Really, it's since the dear old vulture days that I can't hang at happly in the space
what loadout/engineering are you running?
3 beams (I don't remember the eng) 2 multicannons with extended magazines n side effects , overcharged PP, weapon oriented PD with cooling if I'm right, long fsd (25/26 ly) dirty thrusters, long wake/warranty scanner, 2 heavy duty Shield booster, thermal/kinetic/explosive generic Shield generator, hull and armor. That's pretty much all.
InfuseDJ Im not using the cooling down beam effect as Astro suggested
Best ship review video by far :-)
Love the collaboration: Sensible meets Yamiks.
I personally love how the Krait looks.
I loved how you two both kept your own unique style (which is soo much different, someone said bellow, the oposit pole) yet it come so well together! Brilliant!
I think this was the collaboration I anticipated the most when I started watching ED content. This was amazing, and the contrast between your styles played out just how I had hoped it would~

I personally love this ship. I have made it my new main ship. I even finished unlocking a few of the engineers I had never bothered with before just so I can teak it out to the max.
We need more collaboration videos like this, makes the community feel more whole
They seem to have run into a problem: any role in the game has pretty much been filled. If they add new ships now, they will either be redundant, useless or replace an old ship in the game - the only direction is yet bigger ships and new gameplay variants.
*whispering through the witchspace* fleet carrier~
These squeaky sounds crack me up every time, awesome content :D
Obsidian Ant, chill AF, a voice that reminds you of your grandad telling a bedtime story, always level headed and reasonable, willing to give everything the benefit of the doubt.
Yamiks, acts like a 12 year old on crack, shits on everything, heavy accent from a fictional country in marvel comic books, here to tell jokes and chew bubblegum and he's all out of bubblegum.
My favorite polar opposite extremes working together in one video, pure awesome.
Several things
1) Nice to see ObsidianAnt let his hair down.
About your number 3...I'm so glad someone else noticed that too, I though I was going crazy lol
About #4 I assume there is a plug-in on the bottom, or the coffee machine is built into the countertop
i still dont understand why would anyone leave wires so exposed my guess is that if anything breaks or something they can cut the power manually and stuff, this ship while being a all arounder always rubbed me as a combat ship, still the ship interior is as messy as my room
A colab with Obsidian? My two fav Elite youtubers in one review? GLEE! *grabs popcorn*
6:40 had me laughing uncontrollably for 10 minutes straight...
I always think that the krait is a bigger version of the cobra
Also, the wires are signs of the effort people put into drawing the interior
3:38 Those are for accidentally hooking yourself onto the toast rack and getting destroyed by the station's guns as a punishment for obstructing the mail slot. Believe me! I am talking from my experience.
So cool to see you and obsidianant working together!
I laughed so hard... That co-op work with Ant was amazing
Looks just like the first Romulan ship seen in the 1968 Star Treck tv show.
Best video so far (in the review series) Not just due to Obsidian Ant partaking, but the length of the video as well.
The squeaks are the best things to ever be added to youtube.
I personally love the exposed wires. It's a very practical ship, not something fancy like a Gutamaya or Saud Kruger.
I remember the moment I finally cared about earning an anaconda way back in 1.3 when friends were ranting, like Yamiks about the wires lol.
I really love the krait as an exploration ship

ObsidianAnt and Yamiks might make the best duo ever.
To hear Obsidian say a naughty word, made my day!
Wires? What wires? Oh those wires! For that patented DeLacy lived in feel!
ant suzrely knows his production quality, well done
You can get 47ly jump with all stuff needed for exploration with grade 5 long range fsd and largest guardian fsd booster (also you can strip down your modules for some more)
CMDR Arugula I managed to get mine to 50 LY without Engineering anything for lightweight
60lys with engineering and SRV but no fighter is possible over 63 on low tank. Though 56 with decent equip and fighter love it!
You can get 47 without guardian FSD booster if you're careful.
Love the collaboration. The opposite of tone between you both really fits well together.
Ooh, I have 3 gimballed beams with heat vent and 2 gimballed multis
Works like a charm
honestly this is the perfect duo.. you guys should combo videos more often.. the dry wit of ant and the rediculous yamiks. i could watch more of this.
Im with Ant on this, the Krait mk2 has become my new daily driver for exploration. I have it at nearly the same jump range as my old asp, and this one is capable of defending its's self in a fight
Seriously I just watched this a second time. You guys should colab all the time. You contrast each other beautifully.
HAHAHA, great collaboration guys, that vid was informative AND hillarious!!
That was the most epic review ever. You guys are a like a double-act lol. I’m at work laughing like an idiot. Really looking forward to hopefully more collaborations between you guys. I adore the fuck out of ObsidianAnt/Yamiks duo.
Please make more together!
I never thought about it being designed upside down until I watched this, now I can’t unsee it
Was that an upside down space-legs spy?
yes!
*snorts*
lol.. I actually thought it was Yamiks imitating Obsidian for the first few seconds
11:58 this noise is the coffee machine GRINDING coffee beans....yeah in Elite decorations too grinds all day long.
What a fun collaboration. Nice work!
Lmao that beginning squeak!! I love the squeaky crashes!
I love everything about the Krait Mk2, ESPECIALLY that underslung cockpit.
appreciate the nice headlights for exploring dark guardian ruins :D
You balance each other perfectly, it's great to listen to
Love the whole style of the Krait MK II. Currently saving up for one.
On another note, I wasn’t too sure about this video at the start... but the “COFFEE COFFEE COFFEE” bit followed by the repeated squeaky asteroid collision killed me.
I subbed after that.
One mining trip for painite and its yours)
I love this ship. It’s the one i have spent the most time in, i had the python, did 2 mining trips in it and then sold it. I found it very uninspiring and dull. I really don’t get all the love for it! But yet again another great video!
When it comes to ship reviews my friend you are going to be my go to from now until the end of time thank you so much
Brilliant idea to colab with OA, such a funny contrast.
I am just getting into Elite Dangerous and am loving your videos.
Thanks Yamiks, your comments made my morning coffee come out of my nose at high velocity. You owe me a new keyboard.
P.S Coffee makes a great nasal enema...
Yamiks and Obsidian. The perfect duo for this 'review' video! :D
Nice link up fellas! Really enjoyed the arguementative balance. Please do this again!
MUST... RESIST... "KRAITEST"... PUN... **takes deep breath** Okay, so this was one of the... nicest videos I've seen in a long time. Dat intro -- dem legs -- dem puns. HILARIOUS. Great collaboration!
This collaboration was epic! I hope to see more in the future. :D
That was a great collab., you and Obsidian need to do more XD
Two of my favourite RUclipsrs together, at last.all we need now is Mr Plater and the holly trinity is complete.
Dammit. That was brilliant Obsidian Ant and Yamicks. Love it.
You two are perfect together for ship reviews! Balanced. You two should review all ships from sidewinder up
The SLF outweighs the tiny bit lower shields and hull imo (and the 1 less class 5 optional internal) plus the noticeable improvement in manouverability and speed. Definitely a worthy contender at the least.
It's one less class 6. Krait holds an SLF because it's deeper in the belly. The Python is too narrow in profile height.
Mark Hackett class 6* my bad
No probs. I think that the loss of a class 6 compared to a python is a good trade off for having an SLF bay. A class 5 or less would not have made it balanced. And when you have a billion credits, the price is irrelevant, especially A rated, so the price difference has no meaning. Best collab to date my two favorite channels coming together. It's a fun contrast between Obsidians silky voice and the...aggressively abrasive voice of Yamiks. Keep up the great work you guys both rock
Exposed wiring is pretty standard aboard military - type ships and planes; saves weight and makes systems more accessible for maintenance, repair, and damage control.
tspencer227 dangling exposed wires that would flop around under acceleration and get damaged from the constant strain?
I'm pretty sure the wires are supposed to be the ship with a bridge being jury-rigged so one person can do everything from the pilot's seat
a yamiks and obsidian and colab? never thought id see the day...
Can't smash that like button hard enough. You and ObsidianAnt are the only two Elite creators I watch! :D
I love these Colabs. More Please!!!
Coffee Maker!!! Introducing the new "Barista" career track!
I give this video 10/10 because of the humor, the voice of reason and proper information.
@11:28 When you leave the fader in the hands of Obsidian and the video ends with Yamiks getting faded out LOL
Everyone was so excited about the Krait and Yamiks comes a long and shits on it. I love it! Keep up the good work!
YES! Finally an Obsidian And/Yamiks ship review!
Obsidian and Yamiks in a on single review = Automatic thumbs up, PS: Where are my wires? >:( ... oh check!
