I actually almost fell over at the "joystick" scene. Pure genius.
i want to like your comment but dont want to ruin the number. unless, of course, two others come along and make it the _nice_ number
@@syrusalder7795 im doing my part
IM NOT SORRY
@@albertonieto7829 YOU BASTARD
Hahahahahahahaha
It's my main ship ... because the grind was ridiculous for it, so I'm putting it to use, regardless of it's flaws.
Azn Dynomite I wouldn’t say 9hours of work is a grind, anybody who has played wow will say a rep grind that takes only 9hours is a measly price.
DamageTheCombine Hes probably talking about the price
208mil for the ship many hundreds more to outfit. Yeah its a bit of a grind
It took 15 times longer fully engineering it than the grind for it in the first place.
Captain to crew: "Approacing for landing, full power to shields, prepare for impact!"
Thanks, now I have cherry coke up my nose!
When I first saw the Cutter, I thought it was a Boeing 747 with amputated wings
Ascended Life Form I agree, the cutter looks like it was a Space Yacht, not a Multipurpose/combat ship...
Ascended Life Form lol actually yes xD
Ascended Life Form i love the idea of a "luxury warship" if you will.
A ship that is designed for combat, but meant to give you comfort while fighting.
Not very good logistically, or maintenance wise perhaps, but i still like it.
Daniel Cannata I mean that sounds like the imperials.
I love that squeeky sound on each bump, mod with that sound on collisions would be great :>
LaVirek if that would be added I'm gonna sell all hardpoints and bump everyone
That would be just retarded... So I guess most people would like it?
Michal Valta I think you have guessed correctly. ( ᴗ ͜ʖ ᴗ )
SQUEEAAAkyyyyy
My dog subscribed to your channel for the crash “squeak” you use.
The lack of space legs just spoil the experience of such a ship!
It really does. :(
Underbird [former X8X8] spoils the experience of the entire game. So many things in the game that would be great to walk around in, like they’re practically designed for space legs
And yet two years later there’s still no space legs.
next best thing is to look at it in VR. You somewhat start to notice how enormous this beauty is.
soon my fellow cmdr soon we shall have legs!!
Hmmmm... legssss
Remember: Frontier is an English Company, and the Driver's Seat in England is on the right side.
Australia too.
@@Lunam_D._Roger not cobra tho
Faulcon Delacy seems to be the only American one then...
Brits may drive on the right side , but the Pilot in a British Airways Jet liner still sits on the left , while his Co-pilot sits on the right .
They don't fly on the effin' Right side XD
Centauri Spaceships would be like cars in Elite.
I just realised, this gentleman reminds me of someone. The guy in the orange robe in Whiterun, Skyrim. One who shouts things like "you have all ascended from the DUNGGGGGG of mortality"
And this ship does look pretty, maybe someday.
Possible explanation to why only cutamaya has different seats: Some authority (InterstellarSafetyRregulator) has a "default" seat that everyone can use and cutamaya decided to put down the money to design and verify their onw model.
Currently using my long range passenger/mid tier trade cutter to go exploring. Heading out about 8000 ly just to get a feel for it. Im 2000 ly in and i fucking love it. The cutter is so fucking great, everything ive ever asked it to do, it did it not only prefectly, it did it in style.
My favorite thing in elite is combat. But my friends likes to run cargo in their Type-9's. So I decided to grind out the Cutter for better hardpoints, that way I can submit during an interdiction and take a little break from the cargo missions, and still able to carry almost as much as my friends.
You’re carrying more with this thing suprisingly aswell! It’s a win win.
Funny that you released this review the day after I get my cutter lol. The basking can finally commence, this things looks even better than I imagined haha.
This world needs a yamiks yodel landing supercut
10 hours of yamiks raming into stations to that yodel song
The Cutter is the best ship in the game...It can do anything and everything you want to do.
With its huge shields, fighter hanger, fuel scoop and very good cargo, you can go on a massive murder spree, transport the coffins back to their families and do some cargo missions on the way.
However,I do feel sorry for Gutamaya...when they look at their sales. The conversation would go like this.
1-Our sales have gone through the roof and reports say it's still rising.
2-yes,good. I'm glad the people are buying our great combat ship.
1-umm sir...
2-what?
1-only 10 % of our ship are used in combat.
2-what?! Then what are the 90% used for?
1-Cargo ships,sir.
2-*shoots himself*
A DEVIOUS HYENA That 90% are incompetent combat pilots
A DEVIOUS HYENA. That is not true, the Cutter is most mediocre at combat it is worse than the Anaconda and far worse than the Corvette.
Those nice big shields won't matter when that turn rate leaves you a sitting duck. Once those b****** go down you have just that long before they come back. By which time you'll be space debris against a properly flown Corvette or Anaconda.
I don't know how anyone can consider a ship with a horrible pitch rate to be a good combat ship.
manrightchea I guess I'm just weird like that.
Big shields do help and FA off helps a little in combat...if the shields are about to break then it's time to... *Run bitch,RUN!*
A DEVIOUS HYENA Yeah I feel you man. Those big shields an advantage in PVE for sure. However overall all of the big ships can have pretty ludicrous amounts of shielding especially when you take into account resistance buffs. I guess I've always seen the Cutter more as a trader with teeth, shields and the speed to protect its cargo.
Flight assist off does help, but that's kind of a universal thing for every ship. I guess me personally I just prefer the large albeit not as large amounts of shields on the Corvette along with its better maneuverability. See in my head I look at it like how much of the shields are being lost because of the turn rate, see on one hand, yeah you can take those shots better, but at the same time if the target dies faster the amount of shots die faster. Basically in other words..is it better to be able to take a lot of gunshots or to kill the gunslingers faster so as to not take those shots? I've always looked at the best defense as not getting hit at all.
I think you should watch Down to Earth Astronomy's latest video where he is raising his combat rank. There is a particular point in that video where he enters a compromised nav beacon with Imperial slaves in his cargo bay. Pretty much every damn ship around that beacon starts to shoot at him in his Corvette. However he is able to kill them fast enough that even though there were 20 damn ships shooting him they didn't even have time to take his shield down. He was in a wing with two other smaller ships, but they couldn't help much. I mean it was like chaos how many ships were shooting him at one time.
I think if that had been a Cutter he would have gotten blown up because even though it's extremely tanky, it would taken a lot longer to take out each target. Not just because of pitch but also because of DPS being lower.
I don't know man the Cutter is a fine vessel. I'm not going to deny it that, I guess it just frustrates me because it's pitch rate is one of the only things keeping me from actually buying one. I guess it's just to get to the point where you look for new things to accomplish.
I was super proud when I earned my Corvette and maxed it, shortly after heading to Quince to do it all over again.. and I'm partly motivated to give the Cutter a similar treatment but I guess I just feel like it's pitch rate is unreasonably low. I don't know why FD decided to give it such a low pitch rate. I mean you would think they could give it a little more..
By the way my intention is not to be hostile, but to be honest it has always frustrated me lol.
manrightchea I completely understand...The Cutter and Vette is like comparing The Fed Gunship to the Fed assault Ship.
They both have their strengths and weaknesses,The Vette can go Rambo on several ships while as for the Cutter it will perform better in a supporting role by helping others ships (Conflict Zones).
However,we are only talking about the combat aspects of these ships...The Vette is a dedicated fighter whilst the Cutter is a multipurpose. So of course the Vette would be better in a fight even tho the cutter does better in a supporting role.
The ultimate basking machine!
"It has the space, face, and grace that you could ever want from it."
I love this.
Love both Imperial and Federal vessels, but usually gravitate toward Federal Design. I adore the looks of the Corvette, but there is just something about the design that keeps me from picking it over the Cutter, a ship boasting nearly zero flaws in ship design (in my book). Performance wise, the I prefer the flexibility of the Cutter over the combat power of the Corvette, and Cutter is more fun to fly than ‘Conda. Cutter has to be my favorite of the big three.
This is Commander shepard and this is my favorite ship on the citadel.
That montage of the Devs saying "excited" is probably your finest moment Yam
Glad we are on the same page Yamiks, The Imperial Cutter is truely Glorious. None can match it's Basking potential aside from the Imperial Clipper.
Just got mine yesterday. It is big, shiny and red!
And this is not showing up in my subscription feed, despite my having the bell turned on and all.....weird.
gutaimia seats are different because they all gots the hemroids...
I got an Imperial Cutter
At what cost?
My soul
2:08 ah I see you are a man of the fine taste aswell
And then you realise a vulture would pick this thing apart.
Thomas Smith I don’t think a vulture would even be able to break the shields
Mace Windu note: we can try
@@mike-0451 it certainly would be able to, thing is combat fitted Cutter is FASTER than combat fitted Vulture ...
meaning it can Boom and Zoom and FA off reverse the Vulture to death by that ability alone ...
just boost, FA off, put it in the reverse and unleash the MUCH higher DPS of the Cutter on the poor Vulture ... Cutter can facetank the Vulture without issues, Vulture cannot facetank the Cutter its that simple :)
@@Asghaad If you want to be even less bothered , get turreted weapons and lock on the Vulture , shake your booty , and just watch as it's getting shredded regardless of whether it's beneath you , on top or behind XD
The torpedo you get from Yuri Grom will drop your target’s shields with one hit no matter how strong they are.
Imagine having the duke rank or rear admiral rank but not having enough credits to buy the cutter or the fed corvette
Hilarious, informative and entertaining as always. Your English is truly almost perfect. The only correction I have for you (if you care, otherwise, feel free to ignore) is that you don't say: "most richest", just "richest". The "est" implies "most" for these adjectives. Keep up the good work!
did I say that.. damn.. looking back that is stupid!
I honestly thought it was said that way on purpose to highlight, (or make fun of) how ludicrously over the top and expensive the ship was. haha
why is this video so f*in underrated, real sadg. also i damn near died laughin at the "joystick" part XD
Watching your landings is why I use a docking computer. 😎
The left seat is not the pilot seat every time. It is for a liner for exemple but if you get into a military chopper the pilot seat is on the right. This is an inheritance from the ça alert and old codes, climbing on your mount from the right or the left means something.
I’m working on towards unlocking the Imperial Cutter. Currently rank 8 and close to rank 9 for the Empire.
Feels like grinding for the Federal Corvette all over again. Lol
The seats had to be replaced for enhanced basking
You know, now that I think about it. I think ED took a page from Planetside. You have futuristic looking ships from Gutamaya (VS), nice blocky ships from Lakon (NC) and then theres Core Dynamics which makes very militaristic focused ships (TR). Not talking about Planetside 2 but 1 though. I wonder when ED are going to add BFRs.
Yamkis, always right on the money. Best reviewer of anything, hands down. Can't stop laughing!
Not to be a party pooper, but the cutter arguably can pump out as much dps as the corvette. The corvette has great burst potential dont get me wrong. But the cutter actually has more size 2 slots, and it has as many weapon placements as the conda (ive cunted) So actually the cutter can indeed pump out as much damage as the corvette, given some time.
bugsy cutter has 7 weapons. Conda has 8 (2 small, 2 medium, 3 large, 1 huge).
Cutter's advantage however is that it has a better firing cone than the conda and can have all guns on target better than the conda can
Master your joystick like a fisherman masters bait
SLANDER!
The elegant and beautiful Aisling has NEVER starred in any form of pornography.
Anyone who suggests otherwise deserves to have his joystick removed using the airlock door and be forced to see his rainbow roll get pulled into the nearest neutron star.
Looks like the people of rule 34 got you beat
Clearly forgeries
Wanted for anti-Aisling propaganda

Can you add me to that list? Because I'd like to bring her to my Cutter and rip that dress off..... Her hair is a nice accent to my neon blue trim... wait did I say that out loud?
I can't blame you I'd do the same
But it would be in type 10
I know people do not normally talk about the game like this, but.... "THAT'S EXCITING !"
The grind was very grindy but I’m very very pleased with its sexy looks and it’s capabilities! Mine is named “Outlaw Star” registrar number “XGP15A” props to you if you get the reference ;)
My cutter is named Silvia. She's so big and beautiful. She doesn't like to land on high gravity planets though.
Remember kids don't do drugs, and the current best place to buy the cheapest Imperial Cutter is Arjung . Inside Li Yong-Rui space.
Bask bask BASK
You sick phuck! My kind of guy! I finally reached Empirical Royalty status so going to get one. Probably going to give the Clipper also a try after hearing you being lyrical about it.
3:41 that image, i cant stop laughing at it XD
Just so you know, a cutter with 8k shields will get rekt by vette with 4k shields if the resistances are poor. You need good resistances aswell as overall strength.
That is why my Cutter "only has" 4k Shields but more than 50% resistance To EVERYthing
Calm down rice gum, no need to flex.
Araxes has a good pve cutter as it looks like! Mine has 5342 with 50% to everything ;)
He never said if it was PvP or PvE, resistances doen't matter as much in PvE.
Yeah i see you didnt get the joke, all good.
2:25 LMFAO. That looked exactly like what it was meant to look like. 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
That frontal zoom...
I use my cutter exclusively for combat. If you get used to how it flies it's godly
Also, are you going to review the krait when it comes out?
As a Brit, if you intend to drive a ship built by slaves; it has to be right-hand drive.
Yes, I grinded to this ship fairly recently. I'm excited!
At first I was thinking "meh, I already have a Conda, maybe I can do without the Cutter" Now I really want one.
Yamiks you are so much more entertaining when you have something positive to to talk about👍
That name is sadly the most catchy name I’ve heard.
Good luck hauling those Torval exceptions...
But the right side seat is the right side if your from the UK and braben and co are Uk so... yeah. Its still the best way to drive, seat on left given controls doesn't make sense. you want your direction controls to be held all teh time by your dominant hand, left hand for gear changes etc. Though in space.I suppose that doesn't really matter.
but you know what I don't understand? Why do we still have steering wheels when joysticks are easier to use while retaining fine control? I mena it tales time to turn a steering wheel, planes mostly have joysticks but joysticks are better for making faster/repeated course corrections so a car which has to move on winding roads, would surely work better with a joystick with a computer and motors turning the wheels?
Is it just we're so used to steering wheels that the idea of using them is just too alien a concept?
kudosbudo basically yeah
You don’t want to do sharp movements when steering a car
If you find a system controlled by Li you can get the ship for about 185mil instead of 205mil.
0:39 is that Latvian writing at the bottom? 😂
I'd fallen in love with the Cutter at first sight, I bought the Midnight Black and Chrome paintjobs (unaware it already came chrome) and the ship kit, looong before I had unlocked it, I think I was still a Count at the time.
Months ago, I finally opted to come back and grind, and grind I did, luckily the reputation is easier to grind with the new choose a reward system, so I got it, and man, the Cutter cockpit is dissatisfying.
Seriously, it kinda sucks, its so plain and bland looking, and also, the feature where the light strip on the outside went from Blue to Red when you deployed hardpoints was removed before I ever got it :/
Nevertheless, the shields are outstanding, and while I'm too lazy to unlock a real Shield engineer I still get some awesome numbers while hauling around 460 tons of cargo with a 20ish minimum jump range, which is sexy for a trade ship, and it looks fantastic with my ship kit.
799 Tons of performance enhancers for the trip, 1 ton for the pilot.
Basking tax.
Not to worry. Just a friendly Federal Navy officer learning the enemy's weakness.
im going to paint mine pink and call it the Phapper!
Cutter is also my ship of choice, first ship I've played where I can happily ram other ships in combat and not worry about scratching the paint. And screw you landing pad, I'm going to just crash into you because I'm too lazy to slow down.
Now that's what i call quality content. ^^
These always bring a smile.
Personally i'm not a big fan of Cutter. Yes, it's pretty, fast and powerful. But even with grade 5 engineering, it still handles like a whale with a JATO in it's ass. (boost the JATO with some hot sauce and she can turn a bit better)
Sure it's fun to red line it and drift in asteroid fields but... accidents will happen.
Great for cargo missions and mining though.
The seats counteract the g’s, sexier the seat, less g’s you experience.
Having enjoyed all of these i am now looking forward to the "review" of the magnificent combat cow that will be the type 10 ^^
the lack of space legs don't stop me from coveting the imperil NUTter
The ship was built by British, the seat on the right, fly on the left 👌
2:27 BRILLIANT!
I love my fucking Cutter!
Fly into a gathering CG and in two trips you hit the top 25% lolololol beastly, and I love using it for shield tank piracy.
Wanna know why left side/right side?
Right side passing means that you pass someone coming along the other side on horse or wagon right side to each other. the right handed people therefore would be able to defend themselves with the sword. Left side is because Napoleon was a cavalryman and when you as a right handed get off a horse you get off on the left side, putting your feet in the gutter in a road passing on the right side. Therefore to keep his boots clean of dogshit etc he mandated passing on the left side, meaning you got off the horse in the middle of the road where it was less dirty.
OH MY GOD what's that yodeling song from the landing montage?
Actually space shuttle is piloted with right seat and it's closest to and spaceship
I keep running into other empire kings. I suspect that title may be cerimonial.
I skipped leg day and now I have an inflamed patella tendon on my right knee
Bought the Cutter a couple of hours ago. Went to HIP 10012 as Viscount, 8 hours of porn deliveries later I was a Duke.
Bye the way, you need at least a billion in the bank to make her perform.
When I bought this ship i didn't sell my first born child in stead i sold Saud Krugers third born worth 133 563 435 million credits
Wait is beluga Saud Krugers 3rd born child or 1st born
Seems like a great ship, might need to start my rank grind again after getting the Clipper.
Actually it's completely right, that the seat is on the right side... in ships, having the Captain-Seat steering the ship is most common on the right, so Elite Dangerous thought of this ;)
The Cutter was a good cargo ship, sure, but I got tired of it after a while. Too sluggish in combat (though much better than T9), despite the shields and fighter bay. I still keep mine for cash infusions when I need credits and can find a trade route on Inara that I like, but mostly it just collects dust these days. Still way better than grinding for a fleet carrier, though I appreciate you fleet carrier bros for subjecting yourself to that torture.
I just realised the cutter is the exact ship out of Star Wars Phantom Menace
As nice of a ship as cutter is I still prefer clipper for its manoeuvrability and it's looks. Also, I sold my cutter for an anaconda as I had no use for a cutter after the "death" of tritium trading. Honestly the only advantages of cutter are the shields and cargo space
"The Compensator!" lol
as for me: this ship looks like soviet old passagers aircraft but not like appropriate starship (and on my humble opinion it's about all Imperial ships). But it's quite modded/styled. Prefer Corvete at all (and all Federation ships).
And as usually: thanks for the review man! It's AWESOME!
a boop from the Cutter would be.... exciting
Cutter is so hard to turn for combat, I just threw missiles on all of the medium slots and named it the Bazelguese. Really awesome to boost in a massive ship towards a target while launching wave after wave of missiles until you have like 16 missiles around you that crash into the target.
What is really funny, I made my ranks before 2.0 and the nerve. But only imp till max, not fed. Now, with the current system it's a pain to get fed up. So I could buy a -Cutter right now, but I really don't want to exchange my fully A graded and engineered Conda. I don't want to have two big ships in the garage. Maybe if I had the second Billion ;)
well shit, they changed the cockpit without me noticing. perhaps my memory is failing me but i remember there being 4 seats and 2 of them were turned sideways facing consoles kind of like how they are in star trek.
I killed a "Hull Tank" Corvette by ramming it when it had about 30% hull left in this thing.
While I'm not a fan of the cutter, I was looking forward to this review. Not disappointed. 420 out of 69, would bask in it all night.
I hate how the third seat is just in the corner it’s got no view out the front
oh... the cutter. .. you mean the sex toy of choice of the empress?
Please, the Empress has multiple Majestic Class Interdictors to play with.
Late to the party, but I just got my cutter and founder's permit
The captain may be in the right seat as that's how it is on sailing vessels. I don't know why it's different... I just know it is.
Best ship, every time I fly it, I fab and fly it again.
The ships several stories tall.
Seriously! Look at the cockpit room, the front is three or even four times the pilot rooms height. Considering the room is not cramped...
Right side pilot seat superiority
I dont like that im not front and centre.
The ghost in the 2nd chair is as important as the cmdr according to the devs.
I dont like all the other ships either where THE PILOT, IS NOT FRONT AND CENTRE.
they should really rework that , so that extra chairs sit further back.
I am playing, not the empty chair next to me.
If you listen to the audio in the codex they pronounce it ash-lin.
Every imperial ship has something wrong with it such as I - eagle has a pitch issue, courier has a distributor and a little bit of a hard point placement issue, clipper has awful shields for 50M credit shield generator and has awful hard point placement, cutter has a power distributor problem and the power plant is too small for a ship it’s size. this is just my opinion
