The other thing about your knife seems to be that the blade is not straight so that it rocks when you are chopping. This is important.

Hello! I can tell you that if you add cumin seeds, coriander seeds, mustard seeds and curry leaves at the beginning, and sprinkle jullienned ginger in the end, you will have a perfect Pakistani okra 'bhujia'. My late mother's special recipe. Love it!

Tried this for dinner yesterday, paired it with your tofu bulgogi and some whole wheat noodles for a complete meal. Absolutely delicious. I did leave out the chickpeas though, just the tofu was enough to give me the protein I need haha.....still tasted amazing! I dislike okra and my mom was surprised to see me use the little bag of okra she had bought for herself. C'est simple, when Will Yeung uploads, I try ;P

Hi Wil. How are you? Since I found you last year during the first lockdown, you have just skyrocketed. I'm happy for you. This is a super easy recipe and I will definitely make it this weekend as I love all the ingredients. Thanks for another meal idea. Also, I am going to buy those cook books of yours. It's just a matter of time. Last August I purchased knives, pots, pans and cutting board from Zwilling when I saw your equipment. Since I can't sharpen my knife like you can, I have a box/holder so that they sharpen each time I take them out and put them back. Having the right equipment brings more enjoyment to the cooking process. Thanks again and take care!

how to make different types/ varieties of sauces/ seasonings for our everyday cooking?
for example, there are tons of interesting combinations possible with Soy sauce. Also, some dos and donts about it. for example which two things should not be mixed, which ingredient can be heated and which cannot etc...

Well, Will. You have put a nice twist on one of my all time favorite meals of okra and tomatoes. I haven’t made it since I gave up bacon which gave it an AMAZING flavor, LOL. Also. I’ve never cut it lengthwise nor eaten the head! I will sometimes add fresh corn kernels which is yummy but since my pantry is now fully stocked with tons of those darn chickpeas since going plant-based, I’ll have to add this dish back into my repertoire 😋 And, oh yes, your cookbook is proudly displayed on my counter!

You read my mind!!! I've been thinking of okra for the last week and have been wondering what I might do with it now that it's in season. I've always loved the stuff, and now I know what I will do with it. More to come later after I've tried it!!!
This is the later: I absolutely LOVE it! Also, I'm like you... I really favour the seeds in the okra. I don't know what it is, but they are both yum, and I love the texture too. I've had it twice now, and I experimented a bit with it the second time around. I wanted to know if this would be something I could do in the winter using either frozen okra from my garden, or frozen okra from the grocery store. While nothing is quite like eating it fresh off the plant, it's still quite good if frozen. My cherry tomatoes refuse to give up, even though we're at the end of September, and this is great recipe to use some of them up with. I have both yellow cherries, and the more traditional red ones in my garden, and there is a difference in taste, but that plays really well in this dish. It's almost a delight of discovery sort of thing one piece or another with different combinations of the ingredients involved.
    Another big score for Wil!!!

During the winter and fall I’m really into warm salads although this is slightly stir fried I consider this a warm salad and once I tried it I absolutely fell in love with it. Okra is one of those vegetables I hated growing up I guess mainly because of how it was cooked to each their own but this was really simple and kept the flavours of the vegetables in tact so being able to taste everything and each having its separate flavour made me really enjoy this! Love it, will be making it more often during the winter.
