My Crazy Customer Story is AS the Customer...
I used to be a Commercial Truck Driver and once when I was 4-5 miles south of the Port Huron MI-Sarnia ON Boarder crossing in Michigan I stopped at a truck stop for some coffee and to kill time while waiting for my Customs Paperwork to be processed so I could return to Canada and I accidentally grabbed a Canadian $20.00 bill (they are green, though a much lighter shade tan US money) and the Cashier absolutely flipped her lid calling me a crook and that this was the worst forgery she's ever seen yadda, yadda, yadda...
She was threatening to call the Police even when I looked at the bill she was waving around and realized my mistake and told her I accidentally grabbed a Canadian 20 instead of the US 20 i wanted...
She refused to believe that despite me asking (and then demanding) she stop waving the bill around and actually READ the words on it...
She was so loud, her Manager heard her yelling in his Office and came out to find out what was going on and when he saw the bill she was STILL waving around in righteous indignation he instantly recognized it as a Canadian 20 ant told her that...
She wouldn't believe him and must have hit the silent alarm button (possibly accidentally, I don't know) because a minute or so later, 3 Police Cruisers came screaming into the lot lights and sirens screaming...
The Police were rather annoyed with this twit and read her the Riot Act for wasting Police Officers Time and actually gave her a Ticket for something (I wasn't told what the Citation was) and the Manager told her to pack her stuff and go home, she was Suspended pending an Investigation into her Conduct...
The Manager offered to give me my coffee and snacks for free for the trouble she caused but I told him I'll pay since why should the store lose money because of her Stupidity?
He did give me the Employee Discount though...
I went back there several times after that (it was the best spot to wait in between the Warehouse I picked up my load and the Boarder) but never saw her again so she was likely Fired...
And for those wondering, yes she was Blond...very, Very, VERY Blond...
    😄😁😆😅😂🤣

Being so close to the Border, she should have seen Canadian money before and even if that was the first time in her life she'd ever seen a Canadian $20.00 bill, all she had to do was take a moment and look at it but no, she was FAR too stupid and Karenesque to do that...she knew it was a bad forgery and no one could change her mind regardless of what Facts were shoved in her face...
Frankly, I'm glad she either quit or was Fired as I never had to deal with her truly mind-boggling level of Entitled Stupidity again...

It was a good story, but I'm highly suspicious that it was AI generated since it starts out by saying that it happened before mobile phones but then has the drunk woman somehow phoning the police with no mention of how she could do that. Yes, she could have used a public phone (those were a thing, back then), but then I'd expect some mention of it, and also a mention of how she managed to call repeatedly with such frequency since a public phone wouldn't have allowed her to do that (at least, not the ones I knew). "Redial" was an advanced feature generally only found on late-model home phones.

@@melkiorwiseman5234judging by the price the locksmith gave, id peg this to be around the mid 90's, early 2000's is possible since not everyone had gotten in the flip phone bandwagon by then. However there is enough nuance to sound credible, except for the guy wanting to be paid to be the reason to not give her the key, which it should have been that she was drunk.
There's a bunch of weird inconsistencies, and what they tell you now is if the person seems drunk, don't touch the car. In 20 years ive had 2 incidents like that and only had to call the cops once, because the guy walked out of his house with a beer after I had done the work. Come to find out his license was suspended for multiple DUIs.
The other story is almost identical to this one, except I told the lady I gave her keys already so she just walks back in the bar, and as soon as she out of site I locked the car with the keys on the seat.

I remember the one time i was working at a gas station, and someone came in with a Canadian 20 dollar bill (This was at an Esso station in 2005 in Canada) We had a back light behind the till under the counter and I remember getting said bill in my hand and well, it didn't feel right, so i put it under the light and sure enough, it came up fake. The customer yelled at me as they just got said bill from the ATM that was in the store (Something i didn't buy). They asked for my manager and he wasn't around, but my supervisor was and she came out, looked at said bill very closely, put it under the light, and yep, it was fake as hell. Refused them the bill back and told them to get out. She took it to the bank later that day and they backed her up to. What did i get in return, a small raise and well, a 6 pack of beer's of my choice. :)

Due to working in a casino and dealing with Department of Gaming and Treasury agents constantly: Possessing counterfeit bills is entirely legal, it becomes a felony offense when you try to use it as valid currency. They honestly prefer you keep the fake bill and if possible detain the person until law enforcement can arrive, validate the bill, and arrest the person.

    • @melkiorwiseman5234

On this side of the big pond, it can be illegal to even possess counterfeit currency. But it's not as simple as "bang, you have it so you're charged." As I understand it, there has to be a reasonable suspicion that the person intends to pass it.

O the fake money, I have one.
I worked for a well know female clothing store, this day the manager she was also on the floor working. I had this customer buy a few things and paid with cash, now this was before the transparent part of the Aussie Dollar come the norm. One of the $10 look wrong and I do mean wrong. Yes, it was the colour and size, but it felt odd, and the colour blue look like it has bleed. So I was not going to take it, but the manger was near me when I had told the customer, I did not like the note. But before I could say anything pass, this does not look right, the manager told me it was fine and the sale was complete. Once there was no, customer near, I took out the note and told her everything wrong with it. She told me to stop being suck a know it all and it was fine. Funny she did not let me do the baking that day, and when she got back she had said the back did not have a problem. I did not believe her, for they would have picked up the wrongness. She then told me it was more likely because it had gone through the was. I laugh and ask when she last was a note. The colour do not run. Then she said it was more then likely she had gotten from a store when out shopping.
I said not a word after that, see the bank did had picked up on it, she had lied. For the way she had said that, as an off handed thing and not said it before banking. I did not blame the customer, but I did not want that $10s for it was wrong. I never trusted the manager again, not because how she let the fake note be used, but more the way she handled the whole thing. Belittling me when I was right, but could not tell me the truth. All she had to say was, shit that was the 10 was a fake. No, good job or anything, just a shit it was fake.
But then she was not the nicest manager, and as long as the erase manager and upper told her good job, even if it was for others work, she was a happy Kieren.

I drove tow trucks for a while in the 1980s. For a while, I was being dispatched by one of the auto associations, and did a fair number of lockout calls. I did the "toss the keys back inside the car and lock the door" trick a couple times with really rude people, and had my dispatcher call police on a couple of occasions when the member was "too high to fly."
    Good times!

Drunk Karen story: Why do I suspect this was not the first time Karen had her keys confiscated by a bar for drinking too much? Glad her game with the spare key didn't do her any good and actually cost her more.
Brush pile story: Well done OP. But I agree for different reasons the brush pile needed to go. Why? Because a brush pile can attract mice/rats and snakes, so not the best thing to have around for an extended period. Also why you want to keep your grass short.

Were Karens odd brain cells swimming around in so much alcohol, that they couldn't connect together to from a rational thought like "maybe don't drive in front of the cops"? One of those cases where the offender made life easy for them.

And just HOW did she "call the cops" when this supposedly took place "before mobile phones"? If she'd called from a public phone, I'd expect that to have been mentioned, and a public phone almost certainly wouldn't have had a "redial" feature so she wouldn't have been able to spam-call their number with the frequency she's supposed to have done it at.
(Redial was a late-model feature on home and business phones). The whole story has the feel of an AI invention.
Entertaining, though, apart from the glaring inconsistencies with reality.

some people just aren't too smart. Locksmith story reminds me of a time 30 years ago while driving a tow truck, someone had locked their keys in the car at their house. I pull up and walk around the car and the back passenger window is open. I unlock the car, grab the keys and go up to the door and meet the customer walking out and hand her the keys. She said that I did that so very fast and kind of laughed that I would be good at stealing cars. I told her the back window was open and it made if much faster that way. She turned very red with embarrassment with that. I chuckled as I drove away.

First story sounds like an attempted professional scammer who is an idiot. Usually buying large amounts of green dot cards is a sign somebody is being scammed, but I also suspect maybe she was trying to launder money, I suspect the credit cards she tried to use might've been stolen, and then she tried with incredibly obvious counterfeit cash. And frankly, she might've only tried it because she saw they were a new hire and thus a potentially easy mark. I remember some people pulling tricks on me before when they figured out I was new at the job and could sense my lack of confidence.

As to the second story, it has all the feel of an AI written tale, although I admit it's entertaining. But phone books were printed only once a year so the number couldn't have been changed until next year's book was printed.
(The OP said that this was before mobile phones but then has no explanation for how the woman supposedly managed to spam-call their number on redial -- which was a late-model feature on home or business phones - or how she supposedly managed to call the police while seemingly still standing there beside the locksmith. No mention is made of public phones, which so far as I'm aware never had a "redial" feature).
