HOA Board doesn't realize that my father-in-law is a lawyer! Karen, I Am Owner r/MaliciousCompliance
First story: The only way for these companies to listen to you is to call them and tell them you want to cancel your account. I spent months trying to sort out my family's cell phone package and gave up. So I called them and told them I want to cancel. They asked why, and I told them the whole long story.
Just like OP, they told me to call Customer Service number. Knowing how these companies hate losing existing customers, whenever they gave me new instructions, I simply replied, 'No, I'm not doing that because I have already done that multiple times. Please cancel my account'.
In the end, they have two choices. 1. Solve my problem then and there, or 2. Cancel my account. I was not bluffing. They decided to solve my problem within 30 minutes.
I cancelled when the contract was up for renewal.
After the local phone system CUT down my telephone land line and couldn't replace it because of reasons, I had to shut down that account as well as AT&T. As of now, the line is still down, but AT&T is still billing me three months later although I shut down the account. Sigh. Customer service for these monoliths would embarrass the US Government's IRS. I imagine the Karen who can't tell the difference between pink and black umbrellas has been drinking too much. Pink elephants are often common hallucinations.
AT&T still wanted to bill us for our landline after we left. I kept telling them that I wasn't paying for a service I did not have. It took a few years but hopefully they finally figured it out since it's been a good while since I've seen a bill from them.
A call to the board of public utilities and a complaint of fraud will solve that problem quick when faced with fines.
That last story is the first time i’ve heard of an adult who wasn’t a karen using “do you know who my father is?” And it actually working. Lmao
Last story. For the Little Old Lady known as Mom, I Bow Before You, O Great Little Lady. We Are Not Worth! We Are Not Worthy!
On the last story, op your Mother sounds AWESOME.
I guess the HOA's Lawyer did not want any trouble, glad he and the HOA backed off.
So having a great garden would somehow make others property value plummet?
OP unconsciously didn't want the umbrella to get wet on the first day.
LOL 😂😂😂
Last story: it would have been better if the landscaper is married to a cop, aside from having a lawyer in the family.
LOL 😂😂😂😂
Re the first story, I called my mobile phone company the other day. I couldn’t fault the service that I received from them. I’m in the UK, and the customer service centre was in Cape Town, South Africa
First story the fastest and easiest way to get customer service to actually pay attention to you and get your issues fixed is to tell them if they don't fix the issue you are gonna cancel your account and go to their competitors. They will bend over backwards to keep you as a customer
Print phone store: I can tell you that Print isn't the only ones that make you contact customer service. The stores can sell you stuff but aren't allowed to "service" what they sell.
No longer work here story: I feel sorry for these people that USED to work somewhere and these idiots can't comprehend that people actually do change jobs.
HOA story: I'm glad it worked out, but because most HOA's do have a legal standing, ignoring a letter from them for a violation is not a smart move. At the very least you want to go thru the CC&R's to determine if you have actually violated the rules and go from there. But it was pretty stupid on the HOA's part to let it go for so long before attempting to "correct" the issue.
Reminds me of dealing with the AT& Telephone company. Any time we had to change something on the account, they would somehow screw it up. They even allowed my ex-son-in-law to use my upgrade to get himself a new top of the line phone and never contacted me on whether or not he had permission to do so (he didn’t). We called to drop that phone from our account and naturally they shut my phone off. Call to correct the situation, again giving them the phone number to drop, and they shut my wife’s phone off while never reactivating mine. Literally had to do the same as the OP in the story to finally get that round of screw ups resolved.
@@garysakamoto4007, we had AT&T for the landline until they out priced themselves. After we switched they still wanted to bill us for another month after we left. To the best of my knowledge they're still waiting and I won't use them again.
Print story, yea Cricket is the same way.
@@dino17522 Sounds more like Sprint to me. I've had dealings with them in the past at work; which is why I will NEER use them for my personal telephone company.
The quote is: "The customer is always right in the matters of taste."
The IDWHL story: ME: "8!+ch, I'm the customer, and the customer is always right! The customer! Me! The customer! No shut up and listen! I'm the customer, and I'm always right! Do you understand, I'm always right!
On the Story about the umbrella and the karen, Lollllllll op you forgot to open the umbrella while in the rain 😂😂😂😂😂😂😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
More managers need to have the freedom to bar certain individuals from the store. The Karen in this story is going to cause trouble in the future. It would be nice to preempt the manager and staff having to deal with it. This woman needs a personal shopper, or amazon.
Exactly what I would do forget to open it, or carry it with me the next day.
Obviously the Karen is colorblind and stupid, I mean she should be in a looney bin if she thinks that the Umbrella OP is holding is pink and can't see that there are more Black ones behind her...
And let me guess, customer "care" number was charging by the minute? No wonder calls lasted for hours then.
Story 1 - I had an issue where a telecom ramped up their charges till I finally went with a competitor. I called a number of times how this wasn't okay out of nowhere and got laughed at. 3 months later I got a call from "customer retention" and told them I'd already switched and it was too late for "retention" and related my experience. The guy sighed loudly and said "Oh, sorry".
The umbrella story. That karen sounds more like someone off her meds than an entitled karen.
I wear a cowboy hat, some folks at church like to give me grief about it, until. Sunday morning, sun shining bright, I show up in my hat, 4 1/2 inch broad brim, down in front, back, and slightly curled on the sides, it keeps the shade over my eyes, and back of my neck. First guy through the door, sun too bright? Afraid you'll burn your big bulbus nose? Church lets out, it's down pouring, buckets of water, and the streets are running like a rapid river. I take my hat put it on, and stroll out to the truck, smiling, while everyone stands in the door waiting for the rain to stop. How much more proof do you need, that God has a sense of humor?
That last one, the one about the garden and the Lawyer F.I.L., had me actually clapping at 12:30 at night! I LOVED it!
Good afternoon everyone and RedWheel 😊
Hope everyone had a great Saturday 😊
I'm surprised that Op and the manager didn't unison say Lady you need to get out of here or we're calling the cops.
Or say she needs to see an eye doctor.
Yeah, don’t go to a cell phone store for service. The agents there are not trained on policies, plans and other intricacies of how it works. They can barely do their job of selling phones, as evidenced by the “promises” that the phone agents have to fix for you. As to not transmitting info, in a call centre, if a transfer to another department is needed, the agent doesn’t have time to stay on the line until they get a person for a warm transfer (speaking to a person before transferring) so all they can do is a cold transfer, put notes in the account, and hope the next person will read them. They have a set amount of seconds to deal with a call and if you’re outside the metric, you get harassed by management to improve your call time. If you make changes mid month, you can expect the next month’s invoice will appear to be double billed because of proration. Also, some features of cell phone plans cannot be prorated so if you change mid month, you pay full price regardless. Why? Because profits 🤷♀️
It's so much easier to keep an existing customer than attract a new one, yet I have a long list of companies who all dropped the ball at one point or another, who I will never use again unless it is completely impossible to avoid.
Sadly, there is also a much shorter list of companies who I will always turn to first, and only then look elsewhere if they are unable to help me. 😊
Did it seem to anyone else that maybe umbrella lady had dementia? Idk it just seemed that way to me. Anyway, if op had been me, id have forgotten i bought the umbrella as well. Lol
The Umbrella Karen messed with OPs brain so much he / she completely forgot he / she had an Umbrella in hand & got wet again on the walke home 😊
Why would anyone buy a property in a HOA. I can't understand it.
Karen’s need to be told GFY more often!!!
Never had to call the Print customer service for any thing. Was always able to get the issues with my bills and service inside the store
Thanks for sharing RedWheel hope you are well. Please stay safe.🏴😁😷👍. Have a great day and a wonderful weekend everyone
if they are gonna use the quote they need to know the quote!!!!!!!!!!!! The full quote from Harry Selfridge is "The customer is always right, in matters of taste," Which means that if they wanna buy an ugly hat, let them - they're still buying it.
Print phone story: that is the modus operandi of companies like this.
These so-called Manager’s that try to appease the stupid Karen’s by telling the customer they are yelling at to just go do what the Karen wants are crazy. I would tell them to screw off and walk away.
Going through my 6'th circle of RW stories, only two years to the end 😂😂😂❤❤❤
Have a wonderfull night, and enjoy the weekend ❤
Last story the mom pulled a Karen " do you know who I am move" on them.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Why is cellular phone service in the USA both shit and three times the cost in the UK? Been like that for years. Same with internet. USA is third world.
How much is it where you are? I'm paying $45/£35/€41.12 a month.
it's blackpink. ;-)
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Nicely done mom!
Hello from Poland Redwheel and everyone!!!
Story 1: Verizon is exactly this efficient and their online methods NEVER work.
Fear me Karen! I am the CEO!
🔥🔥🔥🧙🏻♂
3:03 Prints are theives. I always told friends and family- Friends don't let let friends get Prints.
1st
Brilliant 😂😂😂
Good morning RW, from London Ontario Canada
Thank you for going back to correct but still attention-grabbing titles and thumbnails. ❤
Sprint is garbage
Weak cowardly patents. You Failed them both and created this by not doing anything to affect it
The title story was a big disappointment.
Take away from the story ...... black is the new pink.
The auto parts story makes no sense. How does the old man write a letter to the district manager about someone who is no longer and employee and has no name tag.
Sorry I'm late, company came by. Great stories again! Thank you for sharing! Hope you have a great day! Catch you again in the morning.
