About the only other thing OP could have done (that he didn't mention if he had) was to put down thick rugs everywhere in his apartment to help deaden the noise. At least the landlord finally had a wakeup call. School bus stop story: Yeah, that was BS. At least the easement paperwork detailed what it could be used for and you used that to shut the HOA down. Well done.
That is the best case scenario when having a conflict with the HOA. The acknowledged their mistake, apologized and remediated the issue.... Still don't like HOA's.
As to the first story that a hole should be forced out. As to the second story b and b should have been thrown out years ago. They were fo as they say not as they do a holes. As to the last story the h o a learned the world doesnt revolve around them or the residents.
