    If you experience stiffness or discomfort in your neck, shoulders or upper back, this is the perfect class for you! Daily tasks like sitting at a desk, holding purses, carrying children or long hours of driving can leave us with a lot of tension in the upper body.
    This Yin Yoga class is designed to help you bring movement back into that area and leave you feeling open and relaxed. We'll intertwine a few hip openers throughout the class as to not completely ignore the lower body.
    What is Yin Yoga? Yin yoga is often called the Yoga of the joints because unlike other styles of yoga, the emphasis is not on the muscles but on the deep connective tissue. Connective tissue is made up of fascia, ligaments and tendons which surround and form your joints. Yin yoga improves the range of motion in your joints and also strengthens them. The results and benefits are more flexibility and greater range of motion and also more stability within your joints.
    There are 3 principles of Yin Yoga.
    1. Find your edge
    2. Be still
    3. Hold the pose
    Use as many props as needed in Yin Yoga! Blocks, bolsters and straps are all great ways to support your body to make sure you are respecting your edge and not going too far.

    By far the best yoga videos I have found. I have been following for a while and every time I try someone else I’m disappointed. This mainly has to do with the amount of talking vs not talking. Kassandra, you explain just enough but don’t show the need to time fill verbally . Thank you , thank you , thank you.

    Hey I just wanted to say: I have had tension headaches/migraines for a few years now, and I'm another person in your comments who has been helped more by following this video (like 2-3 times a week) than by more doctors and medicines than I feel like counting right now. I was able to drop a med that was giving me bad side effects and this video helped me get my doc's approval to do so. Thank you!!

    I appreciate your RUclips channel. I work in a food cart, and I wondered if you would do a video of yoga for food service workers. We're on our feet 8+ hours per day, and are most often slightly bent at the waist. Also, our hands are constantly called upon to do repetitive motions such as chopping, scooping, flipping, and wrapping. Thank you! We are looking down at either a counter or grill must if the day.     ive been doing yoga since i was 23 and now Im 67. I learned new awarenesses in this class, how to position oneself and what to focus on in "thread the needle" , for example. Lovely phrasing like " breathe to where you feel it" created awareness of my mind inside and my mind on my skin. I intend to do this yoga with Kassandra again. I already repeated the neck sequences at the very beginning about 4 times before going on. Thanks Kassandra, from a recently created fan.

    I'm out of the country right now. Surrounded by a language I don't understand. I can't go to yoga classes for that reason.     I really like this Yoga Class - Thank you very much for posting. But for me it is more a deep stretching routine than a Yin Yoga practice. In Yin Yoga you stay in a single pose for a minimum of 3 minutes in order to get to the fasciae.

    Hi Kassandra. You're very articulate.
    As a beginner online one tends to have to look back and forth at the screen a lot and it's an awkward distraction, a lot more so than when one goes to a class (because you can pick up the motions from the people around you).
    So my tip is to keep up that good work where you explain things in a way so that minimizes the online-students need to look back and forth at the screen.

    I come back to this video at least 3 times per week. I have thorasic outlet syndrom which makes my neck and shoulders increadibly tight and nothing has worked as well at keeping my day pain free as this practice. Thanks so much!

    Thank you!!! I teach yoga and I don't take enough classes because, A) I'm already teaching and B) because a of teachers drive me nuts! I really enjoyed your class, my upper body needed that!

    First time practicing this today, thank you so very much. Comments to ease, relax, breath, focus etc are all so timely and relevant - just wonderful. I will use this video many more times I know as I explore other videos and improve. Turning 55 soon and your videos are inspiring and encouraging me to be the best version of me :)

    I followed this class because I had a stiff neck yesterday. The class was great for my neck, but it was unexpectedly really beneficial for pain I've been suffering in my elbow for a couple of months after some extensive snow shoveling. My elbow feels much better after this class. Thank you. I'll be repeating this video again.
