    Yin yoga is a wonderful and natural way to relieve digestion issues. In this class we will be focusing almost exclusively on twists which help to compress and decompress the internal organs and colon to soothe bloating, cramps, indigestion and constipation. I am not using any props for this class and most of it will be done lying on our backs.
    What is Yin Yoga? Yin yoga is often called the Yoga of the joints because unlike other styles of yoga, the emphasis is not on the muscles but on the deep connective tissue. Connective tissue is made up of fascia, ligaments and tendons which surround and form your joints. Yin yoga improves the range of motion in your joints and also strengthens them. The results and benefits are more flexibility and greater range of motion and also more stability within your joints. Although your muscles will also be stretched, that is not the focus of the practice. It is best to practice yin yoga while your muscles are cold and NOT warmed up, even if that sounds counter intuitive. The reason we do this is so that we can send the "stress" and the "Stretch" to the connective tissues. If the muscles are warm they will steal the focus away from the joints.
    There are 3 principles of Yin Yoga.
    1. Find your edge
    2. Be still
    3. Hold the pose
    Use as many props as needed in Yin Yoga! Blocks, bolsters and straps are all great ways to support your body to make sure you are respecting your edge and not going too far.

      Hey Thank you so much for the yoga videos, I have been following your sets and it really helps a lot. Recently I have not been keeping well because I was diagnosed with Crohn's and I have severe stomach ache and bloating, sometimes flares due to which I feel really weak. Due have any specific yoga suggestions for IBD patients that they can follow regularly. Any suggestion would be appreciated 😊Thank you

    Yin Yoga should be quiet...and this was. I've purchased other online courses where the instructor just rambles on mindlessly the entire time, and it was awful. Happy I bought the October calendar! Thank you for such good content.

    Thank you Kassandra, I have SIBO and some of the meds I take affect my stomach 🙄...so I searched for a good video and YAY...I found this one. In particular what I loved about this practice - is all the silence. This gave me the opportunity to pray & engage quietly with God. Most instructors never stop talking...so I'm very grateful.     I was having slight stomach pain at my belly button and left side abdominal pain from 1 year.My pain minimized after doing this session for two times . Today is my third class . Thank you so much Cassandra for posting this video 😊🙏

    I love your yin videos. This is the first time I try it for digestion as I felt a bit uncomfortable in my stomach. I really feel a lot easier in my stomach and as a unintended consequence, it’s touching on some poses which are really helpful to my lower back as well. Thanks! 🙏🏻😘

    It feels good to hear back my belly making noises and being alive. It is the video I have followed that goes the deepest into twists and guts or maybe it is because I have just done the yin yoga for backbends video before and my back twists far more! thank you for all your wonderful videos

    spring into yoga challenge day 27: GREAT video especally if you have like a me a very sensitive and bloated intestine :) The music is just perfect, the flow of poses and timing too. One of my favourites so far! It is crazy how much one month together has ran fast! I am not doing next challenge as my body needs variety and balance in the exercises like this challenge.You have given me so much to think and work and experience with my body that it will be good to choose alone what I need too.     Wow, this was super intense for me. Is it normal to have severe cramp like pains in the resting pose? I really had a hard time to let go and release...it was almost too painful to bear.. .Maybe that's just me being to tight. Loved the challenge regardless

    Wonderful practice. At the start of the final twist, I couldn't even get my legs 45 degrees from the floor - I started crying and crying and by the end of the pose my legs were flat to the floor.

    I personally found the holds too long but that’s just me and my preference. I know it’s yin. I fast forwarded when I was ready. :) Kassandra is my favorite.

    Great class.
    Would love it if you could include final resting time in the video as otherwise you end up having to leap up to pause as RUclips automatically plays the next video in your playlist.

      You could go to the control cog icon in RUclips and switch off the automatic flow from one video to the next (autoplay). I included 5 mins corpse pose afterwards. It's a great routine.
