- A double indicator is my absolute favorite rig to target fish feeding in the film down to about two feed below the surface. Hopefully this rig works as well for you as it has for me daily on the San Juan. If you'd like to spend a day in the boat with me or another About Trout guide on the San Juan, check out www.abouttrout.com for bookings

Your humor makes fishing vids educational and fun.
Another guide wearing crocs. Me too! I routinely get made fun of but I just keep slaying the fish!!! I are surrounded by quite the qualified cast!!! Thx for the vids and love your humor
If you ain’t crocin you ain’t rockin.
Hahaha I was laughing out loud. Best river philosopher out there. Thanks for the video!
this rig has been killing it for us in Colorado - thanks for the info!
Always it's good to know other anglers rigs, formulas, tips, ideas, etc. Great you share how you make your rig for suspended flies. All the best.
Always quality content
Appreciate you checking it out.
Beautiful fish, beautiful place! That squadron of birds at 4:00 min. was interesting. Probably won’t need that rig for Texas largemouth but enjoy all your videos. Thanks a lot! Love that boat! Have a great week. 👍👍🎣
Didn’t even realize that was in the shot till I reviewed the footage. I thought it looked awesome.
Its been SO LONG! Welcome back
Been trying! Crazy busy season on the San Juan
Great rig! I've used it with success since we floated the Juan with you.
I bet you recognize this spot haha. Happy to
Hear it’s working for you!
Love how you row the boat with the leg crossed buddy. We fished this rig with James when he guided us last year and caught both my wife’s and my own personal best trout. In the end we just wanna be where the mayflies are…. Kudos on another strong instructional video good sir. We are all wiser from your insight.
Thanks brotha! I to just want to be where the mayflies are 😂
Bring out the yarn baby!
The double indi is my go to for the Cheeto hatch.
Classic!
🔥🔥
Great rig! But the first minute of commentary is fly fishing comedic genius…keep the fun stuff headed our way. ✅
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. Let’s do a collab for 2023.
your Bob Ross impersonation at the end for the sign-off is money. do that forever now, please

@@AboutTrout just throw a happy little upstream mend, there ya goooooo
Just to make sure I’m following. It’s barrel swivel to your first fly with nothing in between? Then #8 split an inch or so above that and then your first indicator 6” above the split shot and the second indicator about a foot from the first indicator? Thanks!
I like a barrel swivel but you can also just use a blood or surgeons knot as a stopper/tippet transition. The indicator closest to the shot depends on how deep you want the rig. I like the second indicator 18”-24” from the lead pinch on.
Thanks for the video. However, I'm a bit confused about you you rig the double indicator formula. Could you go over what the rig looks like from the barrel swivel down? And, how do you add small stuff such as midge larva (in line tied off the bend, using a dropper tag, etc.)?
I rig in line, eye to eye. Fish it how you’re comfortable.
@@AboutTrout so the barrel swivel is at the end of the 4x tippet and the flies maybe 18 inches down? curious if you have any concern on the fish seeing the swivel or do I have the swivel placement mixed up?
Which indicator are you watching to dip the pinch on or the corq? Thanks for the vid! and rig!
Pinch on, closest to the flies.
I know this is a little off-topic, But I'm looking at getting the same vise as you and wonder if the head screws off like a typical Renzetti or if you have to remove the screw on the hinge of the head? thanks!
The master vise is worth it! If I understand your question correctly, the master vise is screwed together. You can’t remove the the vise from the stem by hand like on a traveler
@@AboutTrout oh my fault, I thought you were still using the presentation 2000, which has a hinge on the head of the vise, I’m just unsure of whether it unscrews like a traveler of you have to remove the screw in the hinge to remove the head from the stem. Sorry for confusion
Back in the day we used to peg two corkies on the line: The double bubble.
Double the bobbers double the fun!
No Shirt
No Shoes
No Dice........lol
That’s six inches huh… sure keep telling yourself that 😂
