All I’m taking from this is Overwatch is now 1 Hydrogen Bomb and 4 Coughing Babies in a mirror match
2 Kaijus fight each other. All the support players can do is pump their kaiju full of healing and pray yours is better.

Yep, that was the first thing that game to mind for me, too. Yes, he now gets the same amount of healing from cardiac overdrive in less time, but the small window gives much more opportunity to negate it.
Most things can shut it down now as long as you time it right, rein barrier can block most of it when times right, grasp should eat most of it, and taking cover is even more effective against him

*Activision, they've been wearing Blizzard's corpse for years and at this point it has became so rotten that they've thrown it away and are now only wearing a paper mask that says "Blizzard" on it that does nothing to tell you this is "Blizzard" anymore, it's a shell of a company that has no quality talent or integrity left (they all either quit or were laid off) and it was all replaced by Activision, there is no more Blizzard left, only fresh hires and Activision employees.
It’s like this because you CANT balance the tank role with ONE TANK. The tank role will continue to suck and now they will make all the other roles suck to try and fix this format issue.
You know what paladins meta is? 2 tanks, one DPS or flank(andro) and a support 😂😂😂
Honestly I still think you could have made tanks better in 5v5 but Blizzard has consistently missed the actual root causes of Tank being bad.

I think the problem is worse than not being able to balance the game with one tank. In fact, I think it's quite possible to do that, but I don't know if the design that supports it would keep a player base. Ultimately the problem is Overwatch has no cohesive design vision. It's note even clear which audience its being designed for, and there are multiple they are trying to serve with conflicting interests. I think they should come full circle and get rid of roles. They were focusing on player agency and at this point they need to lean into it. A team of all "DPS" vs all "Tanks" or all "Support?" Just try to design making that viable. A meta will always form in top tier play, but there's no need to design around that tier from a financial perspective, that's a narrow part of the market.
The game just continues to move towards heroes with fun kits to play with, without too much worry with how all those kits fit into the way the game is "supposed" to be played. Might even be best if they lean into deathmatch and add an alternate win condition for each match for kills. That's just going to be a much easier game for them to continue to add new heroes to and the path back to a structured team minded strategy game is just too far.

I just uninstalled the game after 1 game I am a dps main and I felt like I was doing nothing just shooting at things and running from their tank. Am gonna play red dead redemption 2 and try to finally finish the game

They probably try a new strategy. The Tank buffs look to me like testing the limits. Regarding the obvious fact the devs dont trust the community with how the game should be balanced it might make OW more healthy in future, because once you know the limits its easier to find the right spot.

Now, not only will you barely be able to kill the pharah (Cass nerf) but you will now have to worry about a DBD tank in your ass and it doesn't matter how skilled you are when your 4 headshots only do 200 damage to it and you have to rely solely on your team ro hard focus the giga rank. Game is officially blackened, burnt, AND cooked.

Not enough people are reacting to the armor changes. You WILL feel that, no matter what you think. For example, Soldier's rifle will now be cut by 50% due to armor. Brig is also now gonna be better too at peeling so as a tank player, I wish all DPS trying to 1v1 a tank or Brig the best luck possible.
And with all the health and shield buff and the DPS health debuff passive nerf on top of that. Man, DPS is going to be soooooo unfun. Like why even play LUL.
Tbf though, I don't think DPS should've had a fair 1v1 vs tanks in OW2 anyway since there's only one of them. Brig's definitely more scary though monkaS

@@kommandantkillcode Nah, a great DPS should be able to outskill and 1v1 a worse player whose playing Tank. But I don't even think that's possible now. It's just going to be Tank walking in half assedly wiping teams easily and then tanks are going to be the last alive everytime standing there shooting at eachothers head until one goes down. At this rate the teams will get back die, get back die, ect before a tank even dies LUL. So the Tank are the main characters by far and everyone else isn't even going to matter nearly as much anymore. Maybe I'm overexaggerating, but I feel this is going to be the case for most games now.
Ashe goes from doing 70 damage per shot on armor to 65
Bastion (Recon) goes from 20 damage per shot to 15
Cass goes from 65 to 60, this doesn't even factor in the falloff nerf he got
Genji goes from 22 (66 per burst) to 17 (51 per burst)
Soldier goes from 14 per shot to 9.5 per shot
These are just some examples, this isn't even factoring in the DPS passive nerfs, buffs to tank cooldowns, and the fact the tank headshot reduction passive exists. Good luck trying to kill Hog, Mauga or any tank that's getting pocketed

They always have been, it's pretty well known that the devs for WoW made it their mission to nerf hybrid classes because they hated them while playing everquest, those same devs went on to create Overwatch.

There's a video of Bastion in turret form shooting at Mauga through a Bap window while being damage boosted by Mercy and the Mauga is able to kill the Bastion with Cardiac Overdrive active before the Bastion can kill the Mauga. This game is ridiculous.
Mauga is screwed too because DM lasts longer than Cardiac overdrive, so he has the ultimate counter in DVA now (technically also all barrier tanks counter him). 3 secs for your only MIT tool is insanely bad on a relatively long cooldown

The developer's tank theory at this stage is "if everyone is op, nobody will be"
For those who don't know, everyone with armor will now have a slight ping of metal sound when hit, and energy absorption sound when hitting shielded heroes. This is noticeable best with Ball as he has both.
HOWEVER! Orisa seems to be broken as her armor doesn't have that same audio effect; it still sounds like hitting health
I mean, Orisa's health is basically just all armor as it is

Apply reduced healing (damage passive [yes he still has this])
Might also have more health since tanks get more health in role queue (idk how to test this)
Wakes up from sleep faster
Has headshot damage reduction
Reduced knockback
Only gets half of the 'reduced healing' effect
Everything else he used to do
And a partridge in a pear tree
Thank god he doesn't have armor
Edit: to the people saying he doesn’t have both, I tested with a friend and he still applies the dps debuff. The patch notes also said he only “gained” the tank passive and no “swap” or “removal” happened.
Some people have also said that he gained the passive and not the role so he won’t get extra health or the sleep reduction. Someone suggested a custom game of open and role queue to see the health changes but I don’t have enough friends or custom game experience to accurately test this. I did not test sleep as that was an oversight, but I assumed that the sleep duration was tied with the passive. It just seemed logical that way.
And lastly, take this with a grain of salt, overwatch is known for its spaghetti code.

edit: you could maybe test BOB's health in a custom role queue game and then an open queue game and see how long it takes you to kill BOB with cassidy headshots or something while being pocketed. you need a few friends i guess. and you'd have to do it a few times for consistency. actually why not deadeye? see how many seconds it takes to give you a skull in both queues

I have a feeling tank might be even more misserable now because everyone is more inclined to counter, and you could end up with the tank facing an entire team of counters
I noticed the power creep when I had stopped playing for a few months and comeback to find characters on average having like 75 more health.
Team four decided to die on the 5v5 hill, then chugged the entire fucking gallon of Kool aid

Everyone says that but no one offers a solution. What do you want them to do? Limit hero choice per map or only make a pool that caters to the tank players? I genuinely don’t see it
@@IamWinningFoundation The only solution that I can think of that's reasonable is 6v6 because the root problem of people's dissatisfaction is that the sole tank is the focus of attention and is responsible for juggling too many responsibilities in a match. And it can become a game of continual counter-swapping. A second tank offloads some of those responsibilities and allows tanks to be more creative and make more plays. For a more radical solution, I guess they could get rid of the tank role completely and nerf the tanks to some kind of flex dps/support hybrid. But that would take a lot of reworking and would make the game even less team oriented.
@@psd.3144feedback has already been given by multiple players. The reality is that the format will always cause an imbalance where the tank needs to be tanky enough to handle two dps. Meaning if they aren’t getting focused they are un killable and run the lobby. But if they are getting focused, with a little counter picking mixed in, they can’t play the game cause they take too much damage and the only option is to hide, not die and wait for your dps to make a play while your supports giga pump you with heals.

As a player who plays dps/sup, i think this is really sad, i legit felt like they murdered something i loved and had so much passion for.
I dont think they're turning this around at all.
I agree the tank role was absolutely terrible, but now, no one in the game can contest tanks besides your own and Pharah.
They massively nerfed the only viable counter to her in Cass, supports vs dive tanks is now a gg for the tank, Sigma and Hog now have their one shot combos back, OW2 season 1 immortal Zarya is back and chatacters like Hanzo, Genji, Reaper, Soldier are all gutted.
Dps feels like it means nothing anymore, you're being carried by the tank.
It is incredibly unfun and sad 😔

The ult charge thing against tanks is disgusting as well, i also played a lot of Cass, i forced myself to learn him because i used to be a Reaper otp, i became really good with Cass and now this, just last week i had a ranked game where i went 48/6 with Cass and Reaper, i used to lanch Pharas with him, now i shoot peas.
Honestly, they should've just made the dps passive be 10% and be done with it.
Tank players and their constant whining for buffs ruined the game for everyone.
I played maybe 25 games today total and every time a rein,dva, mauga, or zaraya was in game I easily tore them to shreds with s76 or Bastion...
Are tanks buffed or nerfed I don't get it because I haven't played overwatch in a solid 2 years and I don't remember tearing up Tanks like that before 😂
The only characters I had trouble with - sigma, orisa, or ram were few and far between but VERY annoying. Perhaps I was playing against inexperienced tank mains or I just got lucky?

Literally every tank main I've heard has said that there's no fixing tank. Even If every tank is equal it would lead to a rps meta. 5v5 is the issue and 6v6 is the solution.
Also side note this is how we got 5v5 in the first place. Because dps players didn't like the time it took to get into a match.
@@corbinallen4562 honestly, they will never go that route because people have been for 6v6 ever since the game came out yet refuse to. People already knew that devs are going to have a hard time balancing a singular tank and they continuously screw them up. It'll never fail that devs will listen to whiners instead of solid complaints that are real issues in the game

mauga has a dps of about 237 when the enemy is on fire and he’s point blank mag dumping into a big target.
in the previous iteration his 237 dps would have converted to 142 hps for a total of 711 lifesteal healing over 5 seconds in the most ideal circumstances without any other buff or hero assistance.
The current patch allows for 100% lifesteal as opposed to 60%
Meaning at 237 dps the mauga will receive 237 hps for a total of… 711 hps over 3 seconds in the ideal circumstances.
This coupled with the 10% extra damage reduction and his overhealth generation would give him a little less than 3 times the effective health pool in that 3 second duration.
Overall a net nerf imo. He was already unkillable in cardiac overdrive and now that everyone has realized the best counter play is to LOS him till the ability is used up all that this is going to do is make it easier to back off and wait him out.

5:03 ayy, I've been saying this for months. Some heroes need the knockback passive, and some need the ult reduc. Giving the whole role both plays favorites.

Open queue and mystery heroes might legit be unplayable after this patch
t500 open queue has been horrible since the last giga buff tank patch. The best meta became 4 tanks and a moira or bap. A season before there was actual skill expression and varied comps
mystery heroes has been ass to play in the most recent seasons, it's my favorite mode to play but after this.. it's gonna be horrible
This why OW2 needs a public test build. No way in hell this was tested properly as the devs proved time and time again to not be proper testers of these bonker changes. No Blizzard, live servers are not testing grounds and no blizzard, you aren’t cooking this patch

Btw there are also several "bugs" this patch (or secret changes) that very much make a difference balance wise. Orisa spear can headshot (if I'm wrong blame Eskay), Sombra when detected by one enemy is revealed to the whole team, and Sombra can EMP while translocating + who knows what else so, have fun.

She can headshot. And squishes can't do a single thing to react to it if they get knocked into a wall w it. Sombra also can do what you said and is bugged that way. We tested it

Like what kinda coding do they have that if they adjust Orisa's ability to be like .5 seconds longer, her javelin can now headshot.
@@GriseWeisshark well we have seen in the past these stealth changes that very much should be listed in patch notes but aren't but I can only see that for Orisa because the Sombra ones are too crazy for them to be stealth changes.
I could see the revealed to all enemies bug being an actual bug but I really don't see how translocator would get bugged when Sombra is the only thing in the equation and nothing was done to it.

They're gonna use this patch to thermonuclear 5v5 to the ground. They will announce 6v6 isn't coming back. They will then introduce 7v7 open queue and also announce Overwatch 3

These devs are either dying on the 5v5 hill or they released horrendous 5v5 patches on purpose, so when the late 2022 6v6 balance comes back, people will rejoice, like Blizzard is doing a "favor" to us, the game completes a full circle, literally returning to square one while adding egregious free to play monetization. Honestly, these devs are so inept, even if they literally reset the game back to 2022, they will struggle mightily to adapt the new characters and maps to the established formula. What a goddamn mess

Kiri, Ana, Ashe...you throw bob at enemy team, you nano bob, then you cleanse him of hack/sleep...Nothings going to kill him now, or even boop him into a corner...by the time he would die, he is going to leave anyways.
Bob will also only be down for 3 seconds instead of 5 if you sleep dart him with Ana. Ashe will definitely be a top picked hero this patch I imagine.
