My biggest issue with beast handler was that if you chose to use it, you pretty much had to commit to using beast handler as a majority of your defense (at least casually). The Mermokey seems like it will be able to be used easily alongside other towers and not be as committal which I am very glad for.
In terms of flexibility, I like the amphibious factor as well. As in, it should be placed in water, but it doesn't absolutely HAVE to be. It might have some decent niche positions in certain maps with no water at all.

Once you get all the the t5s, the rock wall opens up and it opens up extra water space, I am unsure if there is an extra function other than extra placement space

middle path might be getting eaten by the purple but im very sure that 5-0-0 was getting eaten by the leads since the MIB was helping so much with the DDTS

Can we just take a moment to recognize and thank Ninja Kiwi for the incredible developers they are? It's been a month or two since we got Rosalia and alraedy weve gotten what seems to be a great update with a new tower. With this consistency and pace, i can see Bloons TD 6 lasting for a LONG time. It's certainly already been cemented into the Tower Defense Hall Of Fame, and easily Ninja Kiwi's best product so far. This is some of the best community outreach and understanding I've seen in a company.
Btd 6 won't last for nearly as long as you think they need something to shake up the game adding a boring tower every half a year isn't gonna cut and Rosalia wasn't a good hero

Top path alone already makes the tower very useful, its very good to pair with things like spike factories, sun avatars and tack shooters due to the pierce increase bottom tier is prob the most insane with tack shooters, it basically maximizes the damage it can do you could even pair it with striker to stack insane pierce
Quests are usually not a good place to showcase all a tower has to offer, let's be honest here, the corvus quest isn't a good place to show off the hero either, the quests don't show off everything a tower has to offer, while a regular game could

I'd imagine the Riptide Champion would probably excel on a straight line and with last targeting to maximize pierce and attack distance. It also seems that for BADs you might have to target the harmonic away until the BAD pops or else it'll be off cooldown because it looked like the BAD was triggering it
I feel like adding outside sources of attack speed boosts would make the harmonics cooldown to trigger faster. Meaning once you've got a t5 bottom path mermonkey and some extra attack speed, you could probably find a good map and spawn trap the balloons at the entrance using the global harmonics totem placement, along with some other high damage, medium to large radius attacks such as Blooncineration, Cripple Moab or even 030/040 bomb shooter spam.
you can probably have 3 or 4 of those bottom paths alternating for 100% uptime on them. Maybe slightly overlap their circles from the back to start of map to send a unit all the way back?
I don't mind adapting, going righty with some stuff, it's all brain training anyway, I'm up for it. My biggest issue, believe it or not, is the ink and pencil smudges. You guys know.
The way I use my hands is very similar to you. I started out left-handed, but I broke my left arm 5 times during my formative years, and that kinda messed things up. I do more precise tasks like writing, using scissors, eating, and other similar things with my left hand, but my right hand is the one I use for throwing and any other strength-related thing. I'm also fluent in American Sign Language, and, even though the language requires more precision out of my hands, I actually sign with my right hand as the dominant one, which I find interesting.
the middle path freezing everything on screen seems to matter more for it's self-synergizing damage amp, rather than slowdown. This combined with the fact that the ability now bounces off the edges of the screen (the tier 4 would not) means that the whole barrage hits with max power on all bloons for the short time.
the tower itself also seems to be really great at cleaning up & helping other towers with more pierce! it's very interesting and will definitely lead to a lot of interesting builds, and will be super interesting for races I think
To this day I still haven't used the Beast Handler other than for the Quest. They're so bad. Anyways, Mermonkeys seem pretty great. DoT Detonation is especially interesting, I assume bloons can't get the same DoT placed on them until the current one expires, so having a tower that forces the expiration while not losing out on any damage is going to be very useful.
Beast Handler is fine but only realy if you invest in them, before it was nerfed it was a bit to good now you need to know how to play with them which is pretty annoying since its most of the time just barely better than other towers, but if done right they can be the best choice

I quite like this design. Maybe it might be a little bit undertuned, but it feels unique, and importantly has actual synergy with other towers, which is always more interesting than just doing a lot of damage but with slightly different visuals. I think most interesting to me though is NK finally seeming to be willing to play around with % buffs instead of flat buffs. Over the entire span of BTD6 it feels like the meta has been to have fast-firing, low damage towers that receive flat damage buffs. Maybe this is a sign that we'll get a % damage buff and finally get some viability for slow heavy hitters. If I had one criticism, it is that the middle path T4 and 5 feel a tad odd in that the projectlie spam stays for T5 and a new effect is added. Personally I'm generally not that fond of spam effects, but even setting aside that bias, I think it would feel better if the T5 effect was an entirely unique one, say, the giant wave that washed across had secondary waves that generated on hitting walls and bounced in the opposite direction, or occasionally split into ripples that deal extra damage. Something like that, as opposed to just piling on an already existing effect; off the top of my head, I don't think there are any other towers in the game whose middle path has two different effects that are acquired one after the other, it's always a case of the T5 either buffing or replacing the previous effect. I could be mistaken on that, though.
I pair the bottom path with inferno towers for some insane synergies. The amount of value you get out of the bottom path is pretty insane with it being able to handle nearly every bloon in the game besides massive bads. With just one you have enough crowd control to last an incredibly long time, especially with clever placement you can have the same MOABs get caught in it over and over until they're popped. This is by far my favourite support tower outside of the village granting camo detection to everyone.
The MerMonkey is a better support then beast handler 💀 I wish beast handler was a primary monkey and got buffed via primary expertise and primary monkey knowledge. Sidenote: it be a missed opportunity if obyn didn't buff mermonkey aswell.

I hope for the paragon they either have the monkey ride the kraken or do a greek mythology reference between Scylla (building off the bottom path's siren inspiration) and Charybdis (sea monster that would swallow ships by creating whirlpools, could be a nice next stage of the top path monster if they don't want to show its face)
I love the combination of damage and support. Top path especially looks fun to me. Seeing how the pierce buffs will impact round 98 in Chimps will be interesting.
The tier 3+ art for the Beast Handler upgrades were awesome, and from what we've seen, it seems the mermonkey is following suit with the Symphonic Resonance and Arctic Knight art. Eagerly looking forward to the others.
that map 1000% has a secret. every time you got a t5, a new light appeared on the monolith in the back over a corresponding carving. At the time of the 3rd t5 bought, the monolith was covered with seaweed, which you briefly mentioned you removed on your first try to see that nothing happened. Am i excited for the new tower? of course. But, it is also yet another buff to the sauda resort sweep: put the siren's call over the sauda loop while letting it freeze bloons in sauda's range to trigger her "increased damage to anything debuffed". Just dont buy the purge of DoT effects. XD
I might actually update my game this time lol. I haven't been this eager to play an update since the release of paragons. Looks like such a good support tower with really unique attacks
Ninja Kiwi is by far my favorite large game studio because they're just built different. As I list some things, consider how that compares to many other game companies. First off, they love to get involved with the community. The amount of times they have incorporated community ideas is insane. Second off, they have added so much content. Think of how many companies would have dropped BTD6 by now for BTD7 and get a ton of extra income. Bosses, paragons, gamemodes, towers, heroes, map editor, quests. So many companies would have seen that as justification for another game. Third, BTD6 isn't even their only game they are actively updating. Fourth, the content they put out is often good. It's not uncommon to see other games get new content that's kind of mid. Sure, not everyone has enjoyed Contested Territories or Boss Rush, but I don't think we can call it bad, it's just sweatier than some people want to play with. Maybe I'm missing something, but why can't every company be more awesomer?
The map also seems to react when you get each of the mermonkey T5s, with the yellow, blue and pink orbs on the carvings covered by kelp in the background- either just an Easter egg or a potentially reveal something behind it in the future(?)
Very interesting tower design from NK here. I like that it kind of does everything but worse from the towers that do only one of its abilities, in exchange of being relatively cheap, spammable and water-placed. It's niche, but the niche it occupies is neat and fun to play with, especially if we get more maps that are mostly water or have good placements covered by water to make you consider using a mermonkey or a ground tower in a worse spot. Also that bottom path??? Can't wait for tack or spactory paragon.
I don't think I fully understand that bottom path upgrade about how it does all dot damage at once, cuz if it works the way I think it does, then that's some huge synergy with Bloon Solver and Glaive Lord, cuz it just does all the damage at once, and then quickly gets reapplied for instant damage again, that's gonna make these towers way over powered
Guys if the bottom path instantly deals all the DoT dmg instantly, then can it be redone. like 5-2-x glue with 0-0-3 mermonkey means that the bloons can immediately get glued again
if mermonkey triggers all DOT with the song does is that continually or only on the initial snare, cause if you can just keep re-applying DOT and it just becomes raw damage it would be crazy
Already my new favorite tower. Love the amphibious aspect so it's useable with or without water, the fact it can buff and support in a few ways is nice, and the theming behind it is amazing. Gonna be so fun to play with.
Isab I am the same! I write left handed but do majority of other things right handed. I did break my right wrist so I can do a lot of things with both especially now after breaking my right wrist and adapting to not being able to use it

Mermonkey is a great option for support and it can take out deadly bloon rushes. Bottom path can give you more time for abilities to come off cooldown. It has non existent single target damage and needs support for villages to beat round 100. Good tower as long as you know how to use it!

honestly, this is SO cool, i can't wait to play with the new tower myself when it comes out. always love new things in this game
the middle path freezing everything on screen seems to matter more for it's self-synergizing damage amp, rather than slowdown. This combined with the fact that the ability now bounces off the edges of the screen (the tier 4 would not) means that the whole barrage hits with max power on all bloons for the short time.
the tower itself also seems to be really great at cleaning up & helping other towers with more pierce! it's very interesting and will definitely lead to a lot of interesting builds, and will be super interesting for races I think

To this day I still haven't used the Beast Handler other than for the Quest. They're so bad.
Anyways, Mermonkeys seem pretty great. DoT Detonation is especially interesting, I assume bloons can't get the same DoT placed on them until the current one expires, so having a tower that forces the expiration while not losing out on any damage is going to be very useful.
Beast handler is such an expensive tower and is way too weak. If it got some significant buffs (especially top path) it could be a pretty useful tower
Beast Handler is fine but only realy if you invest in them, before it was nerfed it was a bit to good now you need to know how to play with them which is pretty annoying since its most of the time just barely better than other towers, but if done right they can be the best choice

I quite like this design. Maybe it might be a little bit undertuned, but it feels unique, and importantly has actual synergy with other towers, which is always more interesting than just doing a lot of damage but with slightly different visuals. I think most interesting to me though is NK finally seeming to be willing to play around with % buffs instead of flat buffs. Over the entire span of BTD6 it feels like the meta has been to have fast-firing, low damage towers that receive flat damage buffs. Maybe this is a sign that we'll get a % damage buff and finally get some viability for slow heavy hitters.
If I had one criticism, it is that the middle path T4 and 5 feel a tad odd in that the projectlie spam stays for T5 and a new effect is added. Personally I'm generally not that fond of spam effects, but even setting aside that bias, I think it would feel better if the T5 effect was an entirely unique one, say, the giant wave that washed across had secondary waves that generated on hitting walls and bounced in the opposite direction, or occasionally split into ripples that deal extra damage. Something like that, as opposed to just piling on an already existing effect; off the top of my head, I don't think there are any other towers in the game whose middle path has two different effects that are acquired one after the other, it's always a case of the T5 either buffing or replacing the previous effect. I could be mistaken on that, though.

I pair the bottom path with inferno towers for some insane synergies. The amount of value you get out of the bottom path is pretty insane with it being able to handle nearly every bloon in the game besides massive bads. With just one you have enough crowd control to last an incredibly long time, especially with clever placement you can have the same MOABs get caught in it over and over until they're popped. This is by far my favourite support tower outside of the village granting camo detection to everyone.

The MerMonkey is a better support then beast handler 💀
I wish beast handler was a primary monkey and got buffed via primary expertise and primary monkey knowledge.
Sidenote: it be a missed opportunity if obyn didn't buff mermonkey aswell.
Top path village would be basically useless for beast handler since all the paths have a ton of pierce

Ability cooldowns too actually but I can't imagine it being as pivotal as something like a moab glue, I definitely overlooked it though

I hope for the paragon they either have the monkey ride the kraken or do a greek mythology reference between Scylla (building off the bottom path's siren inspiration) and Charybdis (sea monster that would swallow ships by creating whirlpools, could be a nice next stage of the top path monster if they don't want to show its face)

I love the combination of damage and support. Top path especially looks fun to me. Seeing how the pierce buffs will impact round 98 in Chimps will be interesting.

The tier 3+ art for the Beast Handler upgrades were awesome, and from what we've seen, it seems the mermonkey is following suit with the Symphonic Resonance and Arctic Knight art. Eagerly looking forward to the others.
that map 1000% has a secret. every time you got a t5, a new light appeared on the monolith in the back over a corresponding carving. At the time of the 3rd t5 bought, the monolith was covered with seaweed, which you briefly mentioned you removed on your first try to see that nothing happened.
Am i excited for the new tower? of course. But, it is also yet another buff to the sauda resort sweep: put the siren's call over the sauda loop while letting it freeze bloons in sauda's range to trigger her "increased damage to anything debuffed". Just dont buy the purge of DoT effects. XD

I might actually update my game this time lol. I haven't been this eager to play an update since the release of paragons. Looks like such a good support tower with really unique attacks
Ninja Kiwi is by far my favorite large game studio because they're just built different. As I list some things, consider how that compares to many other game companies.
First off, they love to get involved with the community. The amount of times they have incorporated community ideas is insane.
Second off, they have added so much content. Think of how many companies would have dropped BTD6 by now for BTD7 and get a ton of extra income. Bosses, paragons, gamemodes, towers, heroes, map editor, quests. So many companies would have seen that as justification for another game.
Third, BTD6 isn't even their only game they are actively updating.
Fourth, the content they put out is often good. It's not uncommon to see other games get new content that's kind of mid. Sure, not everyone has enjoyed Contested Territories or Boss Rush, but I don't think we can call it bad, it's just sweatier than some people want to play with.
Maybe I'm missing something, but why can't every company be more awesomer?

The map also seems to react when you get each of the mermonkey T5s, with the yellow, blue and pink orbs on the carvings covered by kelp in the background- either just an Easter egg or a potentially reveal something behind it in the future(?)

This has to be one of the coolest towers in all of bloons, even more than the bloon chipper
Very interesting tower design from NK here. I like that it kind of does everything but worse from the towers that do only one of its abilities, in exchange of being relatively cheap, spammable and water-placed. It's niche, but the niche it occupies is neat and fun to play with, especially if we get more maps that are mostly water or have good placements covered by water to make you consider using a mermonkey or a ground tower in a worse spot.
Also that bottom path??? Can't wait for tack or spactory paragon.

I don't think I fully understand that bottom path upgrade about how it does all dot damage at once, cuz if it works the way I think it does, then that's some huge synergy with Bloon Solver and Glaive Lord, cuz it just does all the damage at once, and then quickly gets reapplied for instant damage again, that's gonna make these towers way over powered
Guys if the bottom path instantly deals all the DoT dmg instantly, then can it be redone. like 5-2-x glue with 0-0-3 mermonkey means that the bloons can immediately get glued again

After you get all t5s the mermoney in the back lights up for each t5
if mermonkey triggers all DOT with the song does is that continually or only on the initial snare, cause if you can just keep re-applying DOT and it just becomes raw damage it would be crazy
Already my new favorite tower. Love the amphibious aspect so it's useable with or without water, the fact it can buff and support in a few ways is nice, and the theming behind it is amazing. Gonna be so fun to play with.
Isab I am the same! I write left handed but do majority of other things right handed. I did break my right wrist so I can do a lot of things with both especially now after breaking my right wrist and adapting to not being able to use it
3rd path seems like it could be pretty strong with bloon solver, since it does all the DOT damage upfront, maybe burny stuff path of mortar as well? forgetting the DOT paths at the moment
The mural in the back has a sort of easter egg; when you obtain each of the three characters, they light up. I wonder if there's more to it or if that's all! NK really does adore their incredibly well-kept secrets.
Mermonkey is a great option for support and it can take out deadly bloon rushes. Bottom path can give you more time for abilities to come off cooldown. It has non existent single target damage and needs support for villages to beat round 100. Good tower as long as you know how to use it!
