About the chicken… the chicken that jockeys ride are weirdly counted as hostile mobs even after their rider dies so they will despawn like any hostile mob so the chicken are not dying they are just despawning
that was done to stop the chickens from slowly inflating the passive mob count as if you had a longer term world someone playing in older chunks would unintentionally max out the passive mob count.

Pro tip: when repeatedly doing the same trade with a villager, once you shift click the emeralds into your inventory, if you don't move your mouse and you press space, it restocks the trade so you can spam it. This actually saves a lot of time
Wow, serious dedication (both the actual challenge and editing)! If you look at when he is referencing his video about if he could beat Minecraft on One Block that doesn't regenerate, you can see that it says 5 months ago. That video came out 9 months ago as of the release of this video. It took at least 4 months for him to get that insane amount of footage edited into a very entertaining video while still uploading other videos in the meantime. You're a legend Mud Flaps, and I'm glad how well RUclips is going for you bro!
You reminded me that BudgetMC recorded series about real one block challenge and it's pretty fun. I'm not advertising anything, but it's cool and also required insane amounts of effort to record. One block (copared to zero) in some sense is harder, because you don't get that quirky platform via the save manipulation altough it's very clever. Anyway, really appreciate the hard work you put in and love the content as always
This video isn't zero blocks though, he actually started with the platform (about 800 blocks). Save manipulation isn't clever, it's cheating. If it counted, he could have also just merged in a regular world, which obviously goes against starting with "literally nothing". The challenge is still hard, but it's simply not what is in the video title.
Neurotic Goose also has a similar series, but as Terra_creeper mentioned, he also sort've uses the modpack to his advantage by spawning in dirt blocks. It's a far more tedious "cheat", but it does obey the modpack and doesn't combine worlds.
@@terra_creeperSave manipulation isn't "cheating": It's literally required to beat the challenge. It's basically a form of chunk-reloading, which is especially required: It's technically possible to beat the game by reloading one chunk (if it's a fully filled end portal chunk), although multiple chunk reloads are typically required. Why is it so bad to reload the beginning chunks to the void platform?
@@TheLazyCowboy1 Because that is not what happened. I don't have a problem with reloading chunks. It's a glitch, but one you can do entirely within the game. I have a problem with creating a new world that contains blocks and going into your filesystem to manipulate the save data outside of the game so the blocks from the new world are merged into the starting world.
Hey idk if it's helpful but since you had stone and bone meal with moss you could've gotten more dirt by bone mealing the moss on it getting more moss. Love the vids (:
there was a very finite supply of stone that he had and because moss doesn't automatically grow it wouldn't add to the effenciy and waste the stone for basically nothing

I was always under the impression that any chickens that spawns with a baby zombie on top, are classed as hostile mobs and count towards the hostile mob count. Therefore they despawn just like hostile mobs. This is perhaps why Barry kept disappearing 🤔

@@echo8933 By that argument he didn't even have to merge the worlds, he could have just created a normal world and it would still be starting with nothing
@@DiamondWolfXHe had nothing in one world, then used a glitch to get something. That isn’t the same thing as creating a new world. He’s using file manipulation to get something. It would be no different than him collecting an item from the void he was falling through. Because this argument doesn’t address what is considered nothing and what isn’t.
This is your most impressive video yet. Obviously the concept is the most impressive, but it’s even more impressive that you actually didn’t change versions at all. @@adamhayes4691If he could merge the world with a void preset, why not just merge it with an overworld seed? - Mud Flaps, 2024
The quiet "he has my dirt" was funny
One block would also allow save manipulation.
“can you beat minecraft with nothing?”

“okay so NOW!”

How to beat a world with nothing
Step 1: Create a world with something
Bro juste used a bug
@@aichaloka3109 It required creating and using a world which didn't have nothing
@@DiamondWolfXto be fair he did still start with nothing
The only funky things you did were combining it with a void world and reloading the chunks. But no version changes, which makes it unbelievably impressive
chunk regen and world corruption are definitely in the same category as backporting, this video felt so clickbait
@@spok_real click bait? What the hell do you mean “clickbait”? This man spent months doing everything he could to progress and beat the game, and only used methods like that when there was absolutely no other option
@@adamhayes4691 i have watched a ton of videos on this topic, I'm invested in the idea of beating the game with nothing. that being said, the video didn't say that there were exploits and out of game shenanigans, so it made me believe that there was some new way to get lava glitchless. he didn't explain that for half the video, and even said at one point he would do it "without backporting or switching to another world."
@@adamhayes4691If he could merge the world with a void preset, why not just merge it with an overworld seed? It just makes this entire challenge pointless, it's not beating the game from nothing, it's literally the same as playing the world you choose.
If I did the same thing and just merged the world with a normal overworld seed, would that really be impressive? No, because it's just a playthrough of an regular minecraft random seed!
He does know some tricks around a one block world though, which are pretty creative and impressive, even though it's completely unnecessary. The title is most certainly clickbait, it should be called "Can you beat Minecraft from a void preset?"
@@Finnyan yes, he could have merged the world with a normal seed. But he didn’t. Because that would be boring. He literally did the bare minimum. What more do you people want?
