- Matching the bugs in the river to the ones in your fly box is important, but it doesn’t mean you can’t have success without it. Using the right fly will get you more consistent eats, but who’s to say what the right fly is or isn’t?

Fish 'em where they is, not where they ain't. Good stuff Jack
My brother and I spent 2017 fishing every month and pumping trout for an aquatic insect manual (we got allot of fly fishing in as well). A microscope examination reveal the moss packed with fresh water mites. Trout get allot of protein and carbohydrates eating moss.
Good stuff man! 👍 the San Juan can feel so technical. But this pretty much simplified it.
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you!
👌👌👌
Thanks Jack, appreciate the info. Will give that advice a go the end of Oct. I'll look for ya on the water.
Did you once live in Albuquerque?
Yes, I live right next to the river now
You just put that dubbing in a loop?
Yup! Then comb out with a dubbing brush after. Try adding some red Krystal flash as well (annelids sticking out of a moss clump). A regular olive Maribou leech works too.
@@fishingjack beautiful thank you sir!
