- This yoga practice is focused on lengthening and strengthening the side body, from the head all the way down to the feet. In our daily lives, and even in our yoga practice, we often only move in the front/back sagittal plane, leaving the sides of our body neglected. Use this practice to get outside your normal range of motion by side bending and creating space in areas that may hold unconscious tension.

This might not be one of your most popular videos, but I wanted to let you know that it's my favorite of yours and I do this at least once a week. I'm incredibly flexible, but due to my day job, also incredibly stiff and many practices don't warm up my muscles that get stiff (usually along the sides). Different things work for different people :)

Jessica, this was wonderful. I do a lot of side body stretches with daily qi gong, but you are absolutely right in that yoga teachers kind of ignore the side body. Gate is my favorite pose and that's often neglected. You have a great instructional style, always hitting the sweet spot between thorough instruction without too much chatter. Some of the poses were interesting variations, like standing and bending to the side, with one leg crossed in front of the other. Many thanks.

Calming to release all my unnecessary stress
I definitely need this!! My front profile looks thin but my sides doesn’t. But I usually see results after 2 weeks of stretching/yoga!
