As a Guwahati resident, insurgency is something I saw and witnessed on everyday basis. But now it's quite calm and peaceful and no resentment or sentimental issues pertaining in the society.
@Gaurav Khanna calm may be skin deep but NE people have understood that violence won't take them to any fruitful conclusion it will lead to only bloodbath on the streets. Better sense prevailed and people started looking for personal growth and development. There's no point in fighting and vandalising on the streets. This isn't kashmir remember.
@Gaurav Khanna Afghans? Are you saying we are like Taliban with an AK47 in everyone's hand and planting IED everywhere on security posts? This is an educated state and ranks higher than many states in terms of GDP per capita. This comparison with Afghanistan is bogus.
Fascinating episode! I would have never imagined requesting for this information. Importantly, Nitin brought to the table a very different perspective on India's North East; a region that remains to date, out of sight for most of the media. And why just the media; even the Judiciary transfers judges to the High Courts in the North East as a disciplinary action! So, Thanks a lot, Nitin!!
As a person from the northeast, I think this is a fair and accurate recap. Much wrong was done by Delhi to the people of our region and things are still not as good as they should be but huge strides have been made. India must treat the Northeast as the gateway to South East Asia and give heavy emphasis to the India-Thailand highway, even extending railways to Thailand and beyond. If we don't do it, China soon will. India has never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity. That is the sad truth.
general apathy towards the North East comes not only from Bureaucrats and politicians but many Indians who still don't consider them our own. the racism witnessed on the streets of Delhi is appaling
Nitin ji, You missed the insurgency in Arunachal Pradesh. Particulary, eastern Arunachal, called Arunachal Dragon Force, or ADF. Although it was only for a brief part till it was wiped out in 2003-2007 time, by Major Chauhan ( a 5.3 ft guy with handlebar mustache). During earlier army ops, villagers both young and old were harrassed, tied and beaten, made to stand naked in the sun for hours and hours, and multiple cases of human rights violations happened in a large scale. A teacher was forced to chew stones by then Army personnels. You can search it under Operation Bajrang, in the 90s. I can even name that particular army officer during this violations!!
Thanks for giving good insights and enlightenment of tricky situations in our noble country! I will give my feedback and seek clarifications at your convence! Thanks a lot for your right and God efforts ,!
Nitin if u could bring out a session on islands neighbouring India including the ones from our territory like Andamans, Lakshadweep then Diego Garcia, the malaca straits , the IOR, Maldives their strategic importances and the implications with our national security with a brief on pre independence status of these islands including the ones we ceded to Myanmar post independence 🙏👍nice work although with all the sessions .. appreciate it 👍
Excellent synopsis of the North East of India. However the Government of India should ban all missionary working in or visiting this region. Too many conversations, and an imbalance!
Unlike the other insurgencies which arose due to neglect of the government of 🇮🇳, the Naga insurgents wanted a separate Christian nation called Nagalim, something he never mentioned.

Many Indian states would benefit significantly by separating from the union. Hopefully some day the people from my state, Maharashtra realize this too!
As a Maharashtrian, India is my first identity and if in a parallel dimension my state was to seceede, I'll apply for Indian citizenship. So shut the hell up, you know nothing about what you're saying. India grows because it is together, economically and culturally.
Govt. should invest in freight corridor, semi high speed and bullet train in the region. Integrate it with the act east... use Bangladesh to connect with the rest of the India and beyond. Use it three modes of transportation to counter China in the region.
@@damiendehorn6350 I know not my choice. It should be used so that an alternative to chicken's neck can be found. Bangladesh will benefit immensely with these investments. So an agreement can be reached.
How naive of you, the entire north eastern insurgences are run by church due to religious reasons. If the reason for insurgency was lack of development, Bihar should have had the biggest insurgency.
@@Ravi-ot6xj Going by your logic, Arunachal should also have been a breeding ground for insurgents since major indigenous groups here converted to Christians, yet it's the only state in the NE that has had zero (nil, nada) secessionist movement. Also the Bodos (who are Hindus) are being funded by Hindutva groups, right?
Manipur alone have 30 insurgency groups. And for your kind information majority of the insurgency groups belong to the Meitei community who are Hindus. PLA (People's Liberation Army, Manipur), PREPAK etc which are the largest groups in Manipur are all Hindu insurgency groups who want independence from India.

Simultaneously at my signal after this winter.

Correct. It's difficult to cover each of those. But the Naga insurgency is undoubtedly the biggest threat.
these videos deserve more views !!
