That's ok. As Thomas Jefferson once said, "The government you elect is the government you deserve". I guess the majority of the Americans are ok with an exorbitant hike in the imported Chinese goods.

Sanctions against Russia worked really well... for Russia. They swing the nearly same hammer against China now. If you do the same thing over and over again and hope for a different result, guess what happens.

The Chinese government should not hope for the US to repent. Just decouple from the US except for certain very limited areas. Even that you need to tread cautiously. The US is a lost cause, a spoilt child. It takes time to wake up. But hopefully it is not suicidal. I think it is good to cool down n forget the country called united state of arrogance

China is too kind, giving the U.S. all kinds of advice against the path they have taken. China should learn from that adage: "Never tell your opponent what they are doing wrong."

So let me say here that, in front of the Chinese side, the United States does not have the qualification to say that it wants to speak to China from a position of strength. The U.S. side was not even qualified to say such things even 20 years or 30 years back, because this is not the way to deal with the Chinese people.
PS:There is such a sentence at the end of Yang's speech.
So have the Chinese people not suffered enough in the past from the foreign countries?
    His original is in Chinese:
In here 洋人Yángrén is translated into foreign countries. In fact, there is a strong feeling here. English has lost this feeling. This is what the Chinese people called foreign after the Opium War. This word is rarely used after China has entered the era of peace. This word will remind people of the suffering of China in the humiliating 100 years. And such talks are reminiscent of the one that carved up China 120 years ago. The United States was also involved.

@@samtat5873 Its good China is not worried, its a non-issue? then why complaining and asking the US to cancel tarriffs....? The WTO will arbitrate if a rule is broken, Tariffs are often loaded when unfair practices such as dumping are found and this is from any country...not just China, and they happen all the time.. For example China put tariffs on Australian wine, beef, barley and coal.
Its nothing to do with respect... you shouldn't play the victim
