Thank you!!! I love that you did this so it's easy to find! I'm making my blanket with that premier coffee shop yarn most of us got in the mystery bags that were $6. And I'm going to alternate it with the grey touch of alpaca that was in one of the bags. I'm excited about this one! And the yarn is so soft!

    Hi Crystal!
Went yarn shopping bc that’s the best part of this hobby right? Found some beautiful stuff to put together to make a chevron or wave stitch blanket. The ripples are definitely not my strong suit but working along, pausing, making notes, well I did it. I made a small swatch and happy to say it worked out on my second try. I dropped a stitch but since it was a swatch and I knew what was happening, I kept going.
I’m so excited to rip it out and start the real deal now.
Now I just have to figure out my row multiples per colors before changing.
I watch tons of RUclips tutorials and always come back to you because you just make everything work out.

For years there are some stitches that I've avoided bc l suck at following books past general stitches that l already know... that said, as with many of your tutorials, I'm learning more with each one!!

I've invested in many sizes of crochet hooks so I may take the plunge and restart crocheting after decades since I tried to make an ambitious black and silver long evening dress. Gave it up when I realised that I didn't quite have enough silver for the bodice.

Hey Crystal! I just started this pattern, and I like how quickly it goes! I decided to go with a worsted (4) weight yarn, using 2 colors and a variegated yarn (from an afghan I made 20+ years ago that fell apart), and I altered the pattern JUST slightly... meaning I added front post double crochets at the color changes. I will send you pics, if you want, when I'm done.
One note I want to bring to beginning crocheters' attention. When you are making a chevron (or ripple) stitch blanket, you want to make your starting chain LONGER than you want your finished blanket to be. It's been over 20 years since I made a chevron blanket, and I'd forgotten that. Making points in the blanket is going to draw up the width of your beginning chain, making the blanket narrower than the starting chain, over all.
Just wanted to give that head's up, I know there are a LOT of new crocheters out there!
