🔥 Frequently Asked Questions:
Do you have a left handed version of this video? If you are left handed, you can convert ANY video on RUclips yourself! Simply go to www.mirrorthevideo.com/ and follow the instructions to mirror flip any video to convert to left handed!
How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want 😀
Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyrobin.com The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. All the written patterns are FREE to access on my website
How can I print the pattern from your website? Do you have downloadable PDF's? Not at this time no. This may change in the future but for now, I only provide the written pattern directly on my website.
Can you remake this video so it is slower? If the video speed is too fast, you can slow it down! 😀 See this video on exactly how: • How to Adjust the Spee...
Why do you use American stitch terminology? I learnt using USA stitch terms, long before I even knew there was a difference between UK & US terminology! American terms are my "first language" so to speak. If you need a conversion chart, I have one here! www.hookedbyrobin.com/crochet...

Have you used the Peephole Chevron stitch before? What project did you make? 😀
I made one once that was similar to this but it had more spaces so it was pretty lacey. This one looks nice and light, but still warm. I am looking forward to making this! Love the edges!! Excellent video.
Thank you!! Thank you!! So much Robin for this stitch and great simple directions I have been looking for this forever it is an old pattern my grandma used it all the time it was her favorite
Thanks again and keep doing what your doing your great!!❤❤😀
this is normal zig zag.
What do you do while you crochet? I find my self able to go longer if I watch tv or listen to a podcast.
Robin, this has been the best chevron pattern that I've tried, got 6 rows done!! Thank you!!
You, in my opinion, are a “top-notch” RUclipsr; for crochet, one of the best. Your verbal pace and camera-work always result in an excellent learning tool; especially for visual-learners, like myself. For future reference for myself, I document a lot of your videos. I mostly crochet blankets for charity-donation: I’ll be trying this pattern soon. Please continue the “good” work.
Thank you so much! X
Brilliant tutorial as usual thank you x
I absolutely agree! I always recommend Robin to my family and friends who wants to learn how to crochet! She explains things so well and clearly. The camera angles are precise that I know exactly where to insert the hook, how many loops to pull through or yarn over. Keep up the excellent work! 💖
Thank you so much Melissa!🥰🤗
2:40 That stitch marker!!!.... 😻😻😻
Being a beginner at crochet, it is always a pleasure to look at your videos ! Not only your pattern looks great but your explanations are so easy to follow that it makes me look like a pro ! Thank you !
Awwh, thank you! Comments like this make all the hard work worth it.🥰🤗
I like to run through the comment section and see how others are doing before I jump in. I've learned rather quickly that it's really not necessary with your videos. Thank you, and thank your upbringing for being who you are. So appreciated!
This will be a bring-home blankie for my second grandson. He will be here in September, right around his big brother's first birthday!😮😊❤
Thank you for such a lovely comment Jenn!🥰🤗
You explain all the stitches very well!!! Getting ready to make a Christmas Blanket using this tutorial. Thanks so much 🙂
Hi Robin, thank you so much for this pattern. I made this blanket with a very fine (silly sock) yarn mixed with a thicker off-white yarn. This stitch was perfect to show off the colour change and crochet up really quickly
I'm delighted, and wanted to thank you for your RUclips videos, I'd be lost without you at this stage.
This blanket has helped me take my mind off the very sad process of grieving for my mother who died mid December 2022. Her thing was knitting, my thing is crochet. She died peacefully whilst knitting with the silly sock yarn. This project was comforting, easy to do whilst my mind was elsewhere.
I can highly recommend this stitch to anybody especially with thicker yarn or to use two threads like I did, who wants to just crochet to forget the pain and make a forever keepsake of the loving person who was always there in my life💔
Hi Debi, I’m so sorry to hear about your mother.🤗 I’m glad my videos and making your blanket bought you comfort .x
I'm sohappy to have come across you today Robin , I just love your crocheting video's but I keep forgetting where you are it's a bit of old age really ill keep trying. Thank you you are the best.
I hope you're doing well, Debi.❤
Thank you so much for this incredibly helpful crochet tutorial! Your clear and detailed instructions made following this pattern a breeze. I've struggled with similar projects in the past, but your video really broke everything down perfectly. I eagerly await the results since I am making a blanket for a friend, but I feel confident now, thanks to you. I can't wait to see more from your channel!
You’re so welcome, I hope you enjoy making your blanket!😃🧶
I like this gentle chevron afghan. Thank you for sharing.
I’ve just started a baby blanket using this stitch and it looks fabulous, so delicate but so easy. Many thanks.
Thank you so much Robin. I'm on row 4 and I'm flying through it, you're right, once the initial rows are set up it's so quickly done. Thank you so much I'm doing a blanket xxxxx💯❤️ 🧶🧶🤩😍
You’re very welcome, I am so pleased you are enjoying it.😃🧶
It’s 2023, just found this and it’s going on my hook right now. Not complicated like a lot of chevrons. Looking forward to new content. Hope your summer is going well. Thanks!
Fantastic Terri, I hope you enjoy it.😃 It is going well thank you apart from moving house aka a lot of boxes!🫣 Hope you’re summer is going well too.x
Years ago I made an afghan with a chevron stitch that my aunt taught me how to do, but more recently I did a grey/mustard striped scarf that I really enjoyed. Thanks for all the wonderful videos. I really like your color combinations.
Awesome this looks to be the most simplified explanation yet as I’ve looked at many chevrons & been disaster blown with the edges not remaining straight I’ll be giving this a go for sure your an awesome teacher 🙏🙏💖💖💖
Thank you Robin, I was looking for a pretty and simple chevron pattern. I need to make a blanket for a queen size bed , never made anything that big before. This will be my first time doing this stitch. Thank you so very much, from Canada
I have just started a blanket using all my odd balls of wool . Thank you for the video I love it 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸

I love the look of this design. It looks so easy to do. I'll use it to make a blanket for my dad.
As always, a brilliant project and beautiful work! Just wanted to say I love your stitch markers, too. I made several myself a few months ago using those types of earring hooks and I just love them... Use them for knitting and crocheting.💜💜💜
Really pretty and without all the counting and such it looks easy!

I have always wanted to do a chevron stitch but didn’t understand the pattern of two together. This is so much easier to understand and do!!!! I will be doing this now. Thanks so much
The decreases of some chevrons can easily throw you off - this one is so easy, I don't like it if a stitch makes your brain have to work hard - I just want to get on and crochet!
Beautiful stitch🙋 I love the edge... Thank you so much for sharing. Take care.
Thank you I have to save this until some of my projects are done God Bless you
I love the "gentleness" of this chevron! I wish I had your "beast" :o). Many thanks for this pattern! I am making a smaller version as a lap blanket.
Thank you I want to try this with single crochet & half double crochet 🤩💕🙏
I love this pattern. First time I've done it
Love this Peephole stitch. I have used this stitch with a thinner yarn to make prayer shawls. It works up really well with the ombre yarns, no need to change yarns for a color change.💗💗 Thank you for sharing a grea video.
