1st pattern I learned after practicing the basic stitches, was the waffle stitch. I'm making a blanket now with this stitch/pattern that's in the tutorial. I'm liking it!
Where do I begin to express how thankful I am to you for showing me this stitch, and "yes" it is my new favorite stitch!! I just finished one throw and am starting another. I have such an extensive yarn stash that I collected over the years, that I decided it would be best just to make throws out of it. I like keeping my hands busy at night while watching tv, and this pattern is perfect! Thank you again for sharing it with us.
I ran into a complete stranger today at Hobby Lobby and we had a whole conversation about our current projects and she told me I had to come here and check out your videos and specifically this one. I am so thankful I met this wonderful lady and so glad she directed me here.
I ran into a lady about 2 months ago in HL and referred the lady to watch this channel as well! You do t happen to live in the Pittsburg area do you lol. Robin is the most precise and easy to follow teacher for beginners! I just love her work!
I've added this stitch to my list of projects 👍 it's beautiful and I'm still trying to decide what to make, whether it be a scarf, blanket, or a shawl! Thanks for the clear tutorial ❤️
I can't wait to try this Stitch it's so pretty! I have a baby blanket that I want to make. I'm going to start on it in the beginning of October ( once I find out what the gender of the baby is). as always Robin thank you so much for all your videos. you are truly a great teacher! 🙂
Thank you so much! 😃 I am using - Yarn shown in thumbnail: Ice Yarn Magic Light (White, Yellow, Mint Green, Light Lilac, Baby Pink) with a 4mm Hook (available to purchase here: www.iceyarns.com/git/681/fnt2-71201 ) with white DK yarn for the single crochet rows. Yarn used in tutorial: James C Brett Twinkle Baby Print (shade BTP22) and Hayfield Bonus DK yellow yarn (shade Primrose) for the single crochet rows with a 4mm Hook. I hope that helps.x

You're such an excellent instructor! You speak clearly and with just the right amount of repetition for each new step. And, your voice is so soothing! Thank you for the excellent content you create Robin. You got me back into crotchet. ❤
I absolutely agree!! You've taught me how to crochet and the way you explain, like they said with just the right amount of repetition has taught me how to recognize patterns in thr stitches of other projects, how to recognize mistakes and everything
I just want to thank you so very much for the way you teach! You never assume that we know all the terminology so you explain perfectly how we're to do every stitch!!!
This is a beautiful stitch. Thank you! For anyone who hates weaving in ends, you can buy 2 skeins of the single crochet color and 2 of the cluster color and just carry the yarn up as you go if you will be making a border to hide all the carry-ups. A bit annoying to have 4 working skeins to keep track of and untangled, but better than weaving in if you really hate that.
Great pattern. I do a lot of blankets for charity. This stitch would be a great way of using up scrap yarn. Use one solid colour as a base or for several rows and then add one row in some scrap colors to give it a pop.
I do the same. Just finished one with all the scraps from several charity blankets! It is beautiful, if I do say so myself! And it is great fun to make because you are always looking forward to seeing what the colour combinations will look like. Just a tip: I used light colours for the clusters for a few rows, with a darker colour for the sc rows. After a few 2-row pattern rows, I used a medium colour for the next cluster row and switched to lighter colour for the sc row (and darker for the cluster rows). Again, it is great fun! There are so many combinations you can do. Clusters in colour and sc in green and it looks like rows of flowers! M
I haven't picked up a crochet hook for ages (although my granny and my mum taught me to crochet when I was a kid), but your videos have inspired me to crochet again. You explain all the techniques so well and make it so easy to follow.
Oh Robin, this is a beauty of a stitch pattern! Works up beautifully..and it isn’t too difficult! You’re an amazing teacher and I truly appreciat your crochet expertise!! 💕🤗
I like the pattern but I would either use a color changing yarn or one color. It is hard to hide all the yarn that you change color rows. Love your videos Robin. I have a daughter Robin! Thank You.
You are the greatest teacher! I'm in process of making a throw for my husband. Not wanting to change colors too frequently, I am using a very colorful varigated yarn that is working up beautifully. He loves color, and he's getting it .
My son and his wife are expecting their first baby. I’m a knitter learning crochet for the first time and was seriously considering going back to knitting for the baby blanket but I’m going to give this a try first! Thank you for the EXCELLENT tutorial!
Hi, thankyou,I have mastered the single/ cluster stitch. Your video was informed and I worked along with you and achieved a very good result. At 58 never thought I could learn. You helped me a lot. Thank you again, I may learn more stitches.

Yes! This has definitely become my new favorite stitch! Looks so beautiful with a nice variegated yarn. I chain 2 in between each single crochet instead of just one chain just to give a little more stretch for a sweater I'm making. Thanks for a great tutorial and beautiful stitch!
I love watching your videos! Since seeing this tutorial I have used this stitch ALOT... 3 baby blankets...and a baby sweater... so easy and turns out absolutely beautiful... Thank you for sharing this wonderful stitch ... ❤❤❤
Hello. I love this blanket so easy and fast. I was wondering do you by any chance add a border to it?What kind would you use? Do you have any videos of the borders that you would use on this blanket? Thanks. ❤ ❤
I came across your tutorial the cluster stitch, I was searching how to make this stitch my directions wasn't all that clear. Before my aunt passed away she started a Heavenly Hearts Afghan and gave it to me to finish. Thanks for the super easy instructions.
I did a short yarn/crochet demo at work & for those who were interested in learning, I gave your channel as a reference. You truly are the most patient & detailed instructor I've found on here. Thank you for all that you do. ❤💖
This is one of the best videos I've seen to date. So many go so fast that you constantly have to go back. Or, some are not in English, so you have to read the subtitles. It's frustrating trying to watch the stitch being done AND read the subtitles at the same time. I also very much appreciate all the links you left here, including a printable version of this pattern. Thank you so much!

I never ever crochet before. And i want to try new hobbies, crochet is one of i want to try. Because my nephew will born 2 months more i want makes something that could be useful in long term. Your videos is popped up. At first "oh this not gonna be for beginners". And i'm trying again and again until i could finished 1 row clusters but the shapes still bad😅. Next day i'm trying again with real count around 110 foundation chain. Now i'm on first row cluster stitch😆 I'm so happy your explanation is simple yet you repeat again and again. So i could remembering what the next steps. Thank you so much for your video!!🥰🤍 Might be my blanket not as clean and neat as yours but it's my first time soo i hope i could make it better in the future😆
Thank you Robin. Hooked by you is definitely the term I use. Having only learnt crochet a month ago I have used the cluster stitch to create a jumper. Your videos are clear and easy to follow. Thank you ❤
Robin, somewhere in your tutorials you showed a beautiful single crochet w/a front loop only that made a ridge as the pattern. What did you call that? Where is it? Or am I dreaming I saw you do it? 😄🧶. Thanks!!
I started a scarf with some !00% wool, and OOOOh! I love this stitch. The sides are perfectly straight and the stitches are well-defined with the wool. I do love this. Thanks.
This looks like a great "binge watching" stitch. Easy to keep track, no problem to pick up after a break, & lovely! (I think mine will have fringe on the sides so I can change colors but not have so many ends)
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I used to do a cluster stitch for my blankets a few years back but lost the pattern. When I seen your tutorial I was so excited. Your directions were very easy to understand and follow. Making a practice run with some scraps then off to buy yarn to make a blanket. Thank you again. 😊😊😊
I love your tutorials! I’m a beginner and you are the easiest instructor to understand. Because I’m a beginner (I hope this is why), I’m having trouble figuring out where exactly to start each cluster. Maybe it’s the solid color yarn I’m using but I don’t understand where the space where the single crochet on the row below is. Can any of you help me figure this out?
Very clear as usual:and beautiful pattern . I have a friend who wants to learn to crochet (abd we're not risking a fallout by me teaching her)😂. I have recommended your videos from all the thousands on the web for your excellent teaching style and nice pace ❤
I started making this yesterday with a single color. I absolutely hate weaving in the ends. I've got several shades of green, so I'm going to do strips in about 10 or 12 rows per shade. I love this pattern! Thank you!
This is a cute and easy pattern. Perfect for a last minute baby shower gift, the kind I would do to store away for new baby in neighborhood. White for od number row and yellow or green for the clusters, sounds good. Thanks Robin.
Hi there, what size would you suggest for a baby blanket please? Chain how many and repeat how many rows? How many balls will I need please? I’m using a 5mm hook and DK wool. Thank you x
Loved your moss stitch tutorial and this cluster stitch tutorial also. Looking forward to doing both of them on my next shawl project. Thanks for showing them to me. Enjoying your lessons.
Hi. I'm trying this for the 1st time. I. Using a navy for the cluster rows and a tan for the SC rows. The look is giving like a polka dot pattern. Am I doing this correct?
Once again thank-you for this simple stitch and your very clear directions and details and also always information on the yarns you use and where to buy them and the hook sizes you use for the yarn thank-you.
Would this work with doing just 2 doubles in the cluster instead of 3? The yarn I’m using for a blanket is about twice as thick as the yarn in the tutorial (carron big cakes), so i wonder if doing 3 in a cluster would eat up yarn as well as making it heavier overall.
I decided to use icecream lion brand colour UBE it’s #3weight lite..I am using a 4mm hook…. Wondering if you made this blanket what boarder did they use ?
Looking for another fantastic crochet stitch? How about the Waffle Stitch! Watch here: ruclips.net/video/_F_HdVN0bFo/видео.html 👈🥰🧶

This is so simple and beautiful 😍 I can’t wait to see what all I can make with this pattern❤ thank you so much
🥰🧶
I do love the cluster stitch, and the yarn you used in the piece at the start is beautiful! 😱😍
So beautiful Louise! 😍🧶
Thank you Barbara, I am glad my tutorial helped. Enjoy your yarn shopping!😃🧶
😂 Thank you so much for recommending me, I’m sure she will learn.😃
Great job explaining! Perfect to follow! Thank you!
Thank you for watching Crissy! 😃
Did I miss something? What size hook did you use?
Hi Deborah, I used a 4mm hook but use the recommended hook size on your chosen yarn ball.😃🧶
I love this!!!! So, yeah, it might be my new favorite stitch 😊
Yay! It is a good one.😃🧶
Using this stitch you will have a beautiful blanket in no time at all. Thank you for another great tutorial. I've learned so much from them.
I’m so happy to read that Teri!😃🧶
I started making this yesterday with a single color. I absolutely hate weaving in the ends. I've got several shades of green, so I'm going to do strips in about 10 or 12 rows per shade. I love this pattern! Thank you!
That sounds great! 😃 For future projects this may help:

@@HookedbyRobin Thank you so much! I am making great progress on this project
? Please … what stitch would you use to create a border around this pattern . Tia
Hi Dawn, what type of border are you after?🧶
Whatever would look best th at is simple please
Hi Robin, did you just use the size hook that the yarn requires please
Yes 😀 x
Ok awesome thank you
I'm so glad you explain as you go! I've been changing colors the wrong way forever.
Thank you Janice, I’m glad it helps😃🧶
You’re videos are easy to follow and you explain so well 😊
Thank you so much Christy!😃🤗
This is a cute and easy pattern. Perfect for a last minute baby shower gift, the kind I would do to store away for new baby in neighborhood. White for od number row and yellow or green for the clusters, sounds good. Thanks Robin.
Great idea Katherine, enjoy your crochet.😃🧶
First view.😎
😂🏅
Love this stitch but don’t like weaving ends in. I think i would do a cute border to hide them all. Thank you for the tutorial! ❤
That is a great idea! 😃🧶
That’s what i do with any project with a lot of color changes and ends! 😂
Hi there, what size would you suggest for a baby blanket please? Chain how many and repeat how many rows? How many balls will I need please? I’m using a 5mm hook and DK wool. Thank you x
Gorgeous stitch, I will be trying this pattern. Thank you for sharing🧶
Thank you so much Debby, it is lovely! 😃🧶
Great lesson. What is the name of this stitch please?
Hi Joy, thank you! It is the cluster stitch.😃🧶
Muy bonita puntada ,gracias por compartir tu talento, Desde USA. 😊
Loved your moss stitch tutorial and this cluster stitch tutorial also. Looking forward to doing both of them on my next shawl project. Thanks for showing them to me. Enjoying your lessons.
Thank you so much Deborah, I’m glad you’re enjoying them.😃🥰
You’re so welcome, I am pleased it all helps.😃🧶
Would this work with doing just 2 doubles in the cluster instead of 3? The yarn I’m using for a blanket is about twice as thick as the yarn in the tutorial (carron big cakes), so i wonder if doing 3 in a cluster would eat up yarn as well as making it heavier overall.
I decided to use icecream lion brand colour UBE it’s #3weight lite..I am using a 4mm hook….
Wondering if you made this blanket what boarder did they use ?
Thank you , I'm always looking for different stitches to make blankets . Going to make this one for sure. Great day to you. Stay safe
I am happy it helps Michele! 🧶😃
