    One small correction; at the beginning of row 4 you do a single crochet and then you say to do a double crochet. You actually do a single crochet (which is correct) and the captions are correct saying to do a single crochet. Thought you'd like to know. 🙂

      Ok. So I scrapped my first attempt at this blanket (after I’d done an 8 foot wide, by 3 foot long section, uggghhg) and am ready to start over. I followed the pattern by her voice so the captions didn’t save me. Thank you for pointing this out ❤

    I remember making a similar look but it was a pattern that you didn't turn work, but cut off leaving long tail then started new color at the other end leaving another long tail. This leaves an afghan with fringe at both ends. Does anyone know what I am talking about. I just can't remember it?

I made it extra wide so she could double it over & wear part of it as a hood to cover her ears & back of her neck if need be. I was surprised as I thought such a fluffy & coloured yarn would look better with just a plain stitch like DC but it looked terrible so I tried this stitch & the bricks looked so so good! I love this stitch. It would be good for our charity blankets. We get a lot of yarn donated from time to time and never enough to make a whole blanket with just one colour. I'm thinking, to make this one nice, I would buy a white, black or neutral colour for the chain loop rows throughout and use the colours donated. Something different and will look very nice. I usually weave my ends in after about six of them. That way I don't have I big blanket of threads to weave in at the end. Just the last six or so. Thank you for your videos. I always enjoy them and there is always something new to learn.

I’m working on making a blanket right now of alternating color rows with the small white row like your video! This is only my second project ever so I’m still learning!
    How do I finish off the blanket? As in, when weaving in the ends, how do I weave in the white yarn without it being noticeable in the other colors? And if I want to add a border, how do I do that on the sides that have the “need to weave” ends since it’s not a clean line of crochet?
    Hope you see this!

    • @HookedbyRobin
      @HookedbyRobin  Год назад

      Hi Catori, This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!🤗🧶

      Hi Diann, I’m using a. 5.5mm hook but use whichever hook size is recommended on your chosen yarn ball. Thank you for subscribing too, lovely to have you here.😃🧶

    What would the starting stitch count be if I started with chainless DC? I hate foundation chains lol. Would it be 3 plus 1?

    • @HookedbyRobin
      @HookedbyRobin  Год назад +1

      I *think* it would be 3 + 2 if using a chainless start BUT my maths isn't always the best so definitely test that on a small sample first 😅

    I’m trying to do the wave crochet hat and keep getting uneven edges. Do I start each row in the second stitch from the top whether slip stitch or half double crochet ?

    Thank You for sharing your talent with Us. I’m still learning but I love this project.
    At :34 or right after you start Row 4, You have Us do a Single Crochet and then you say do a dbl crochet next but You did a single. I’m thinking it should be a single. Is that correct?
