🧶 Yarn & Hook information:
Suitable for any yarn - use the recommended hook size for your chosen yarn
For my blanket I used 3.5 balls of James Brett Aurora Double Knitting yarn in the shade "AU11" for the blanket and 1 ball of Hayfield Bonus DK in Cream for the border with a 4mm Hook
This gave me a blanket approximately 36 inches x 41.5 inches in size (92cm x160cm) including the border

Do you have a left handed version of this video? If you are left handed, you can convert ANY video on RUclips yourself! Simply go to www.mirrorthevideo.com/ and follow the instructions to mirror flip any video to convert to left handed!
How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want 😀
Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyrobin.com The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. All the written patterns are FREE to access on my website
How can I print the pattern from your website? Do you have downloadable PDF's? Not at this time no. This may change in the future but for now, I only provide the written pattern directly on my website.

Why do you use American stitch terminology? I learnt using USA stitch terms, long before I even knew there was a difference between UK & US terminology! American terms are my "first language" so to speak. If you need a conversion chart, I have one here! www.hookedbyrobin.com/crochet...

I'm very much a beginner crocheter but I'm going to give this a go. I've done another c2c of yours but my tension wasn't consistent so it was a bit wonky. Looking forward to getting started once my current knitting project is completed.
The directions are really clear. I was looking for a new project and i am going to make this one. Thank you for all awesome patterns.
My pleasure Elizabeth, I’m glad you like them!😃🧶

I often use this stitch for variegated yarns and always add an extra chain to ‘open it
up’.

Absolutely give it a go, once you get going it gets easier!😃🧶
Ook leuk lijkt het mij om hiermee een kledingstuk bv. een topje od. mee te maken
I never tried C2C because I thought it would be kinda hard to remember. You made it look so easy and now I am hooked. I just dont want to lay it down. I say to myself I will do one more row and then stop, lol. Before I know it I have done 5 more rows. I love that yarn, never heard of it here in the USA but I have ordered some from James Brett . Thank you so much for this video. You do such beautiful work.
That sounds like me when doing crochet!😅 I am glad you like Sharyn.
@@HookedbyRobin My daughter n law loved it so that she bought me some Red Heart Ombre yarn to make her one while I am waiting for my other yarn to come from the UK. I am using a size 5 hook because the yarn is thicker but it is turning out beautiful. Thank you for I know I will be using this pattern for some time.
Thank you for the very clear instructions. I look forward to trying out the pattern. C2C can look a bit heavy, so this variation is very welcome.
You’re welcome Mary!😃
❤ This is awesome!! Have to finish a blanket I’m working on… then this will be my next adventure. Can’t wait! 😊
Thank you so much, I’m glad you like it!😃
Thanks you this be my next project I lost my crojo
Ahhh missing crojo is the worst! Hopefully this helps x
Another wonderful video! Coincidentally, I am working on a C2C project right now, and tried out your open blocks technique right on the middle of the solid C2C I was doing, because I couldn't wait to try it out. It looks beautiful! Then I froghed out the trial patch and got back to my project. Thank you for a new technique!❤
I love that!😍 I am glad you like it.
Excellent tutorial. C2C can be a bit confusing for me at times and this beautiful stitch is no exception, but you explained this so well. Thank you.
Thank you Eileen, I am pleased it helps!😃
I began working this with a pretty Lion brand Mandala of pink/baby blue & lavender for a great niece. I've already had to frog twice. Gonna write the instructions down, and attempt it again when I'm not sleepy/groggy. This is my first corner to corner... and I liked the look of the checkerboard-ish pattern. But I goofed somehow 😮. Twice as I mentioned 🤷. Update=I started the video completely over, and I got it now 😊. It just didn't look right before I began again. It turns out that it was right the second time. It's all clear though now 🤓. I'll watch the prep for a border after a nap 🥱 and after my blanket is as big as it needs to be before decreasing. Thanks Robin 🤗
Always the best way, to come back to it.😃 I’m glad you managed it Darrin.
@@HookedbyRobinThank you 😊. Almost finished with the main "body" of my blanket! Making it square, I'll probably finish it and start the border tomorrow 😍. It really works up quickly 😁.
Oh yeah -the color name of the Mandala is unicorn 🦄😂. Didn't notice that until tonight
Loved this project....can't wait to start.
Thanks for your wonderful instructions
