    I like the way you make the foundation chain more sturdy by doing the 3 dc all together. I have been crocheting for over 50 years but you have created new techniques to make all patterns easier and better! So thankful I found your channel 💘. God bless you and your family. That is another area of your success. You are a fine example of business ownership and being a wife and mother!! I have to say I just love you. I say that with great humility. 🙏🙋💓

    Crystal, I knew I wanted a granny chevron stitched baby blanket, but I started following another crochet genius’ tutorial. Kinda got lost, was unhappy with the edges, etc….then I found your tutorial. Well, that goes to prove that I am totally and completely dependent on you for the crochet work I do. I can’t follow anyone else!! With this pattern, your valley stitches pull together perfectly and don’t leave any gaps. I like how you’ve started with a neat row of single crochet for the first row. Anyway, once again and always, I love how you teach and I worship your designs. Thank you, Crystal!!

    Hi Crystal. I’m a nearly 80 year old - used to be a crocheted in my youth, picked it up just a few months ago. Like riding a bike😂. Love it and particularly love your tutorials! They’re so clear - you go at my speed - you’re interesting and I so enjoy the variety of stitches and patterns you show. I’m currently about to start a shawl in brown with gold flecks - doing mine in Annette Ericsson Frost. Should be look good. Thank you for all your helpful hints and colourful tutorials💕

    Crystal, I’ve been going back and checking out your extensive list of tutorials while I am crocheting my most recent project. I am so amazed at the amount of content you have memorized in your hat covered head. You are by far my favorite crochet tutor and I am so proud and happy to have you for my teacher. Thanks for all you do and for keeping it free. I am on a fixed budget as a retiree, so you are very much appreciated. OMG that cake of yarn is so beautiful.

    I’ve made two of these blankets so far. They came out great! Gave them as gifts. These Caron cakes were on sale at Michael’s so I just got a couple more to make a third blanket - might keep it for myself this time. I added a round of single crochets all the way around to give it a finishing border. I love it!

      How many anniversary cakes did you use for each? Do you think 1 will make something useful to throw over the back of my computer chair?

    • @aaronphipps2117
      @aaronphipps2117 2 года назад

      @@Maurie58 For what I think of as a throw blanket size (about 50 in x 60 in), it took about a cake and a half. Maybe a cake and 2/3. And I used an 8mm hook. But a single cake would definitely make a lap blanket or a kid’s blanket.

      @Maurie58 2 года назад +1

    By far the EASIEST chevron pattern I have ever tried and the prettiest! It looks and feels wonderful and the edges are so straight!! I am using all my leftover partial skeins of 4 ply yarn and holding 2 strands together to make one of these and just simply change from one skein to another as I run out of one. Just AWESOME!

When I get a chance I'll tag you on Instagram. Now I've got my 2 giant Caron Anniversary Cakes (color: Grape) and I'm ready to make my first Ripple afghan in sooo many years! I haven't made a ripple blanket in so long, but this is an excellent project for those **beautiful** new Anniversary cake colorways! This is exactly what I'm going to make with the two purple ones I ordered! The last afghan I made with the Anniversary cakes was just a simple V Stitch and it works up SO fast because of the bulky yarn and a nice big hook. I really like the "feel" of this yarn too because it's soft enough for a nice blanket, but also heavy so it's very cozy!

    This is my new favourite pattern!! I’m currently almost done chunky cakes rice pudding in this. It’s gorgeous. I love chevron blankets but hate doing them because of all the counting, so this pattern is THE BEST.

    I love the Anniversary cakes. I still have two from when they first came out. I also made a blanket for my daughters bed with two different colors of the cakes. The colors are beautiful.

    I love skip skip!
    You also answered my question on size and amount of yarn.❤️
    I always wondered how that shape was achieved!
    You always explain so well!

    So, I bought an Anniversary Cake because I loved the colors (they only had one at the time) on sale. I have been looking for patterns to use with it. I was waffling between two of your patterns. I think this is the way to go. I know I will have to buy another cake....

    This is a nice and different ripple appearance. Definitely one to give a shot to see if I do like it as much as my other ripple or chevron as I believe others call it. Thanks for giving me a kick to try it. Maybe some type of square to test it. Hugs 🤗 😇

    Oooo thanks again. I was given an anniversary cake recently but no wrapper. I think it’s the ‘sour cherry’ color. I worked the first 3 rows with you plus write down the pattern. This skein is HUGE! I weighed it. 3 lbs. 😳 Thanks again for another nice pattern, Crystal. 🌻🥰
