She is very clear and not to fast. Soothing voice. Love hearing babies in back ground . She goes right on . She knows her kids . I’ve seen people interrupt the blog to move their cats out of the way lol.
Just found your channel, so happy I did. Such a laid-back form of teaching. I now see how simple the chevron stitch is and can’t wait to try this stitch.Thank you for your time.
I've been trying this blanket forever but always come up short on the ends. Finally, I see by adding 2 on each end fixes that. Thank you for this video 😊😊
BLESS YOU. i’ve been doing single and double crochet for years and the chevron changes it up just enough. also even though the pace of the video was a bit fast it was still helpful. AND adding the part about how to change yarn colors was perfect since i didn’t know how to before seeing this 😛
I can't wait to start my next blanket. I am going to use the Chevron Pattern. I thought it would be more complicated for some reason. I will be using three different colors and this will off the yarn perfectly. Thank you
Beginner here. So AFTER the first row, you continue to crochet rows 2 thru however wide you want to make the blanket correct? You're explanation of how the stitch as done is explained very well. I just wanted to make sure that after the first row, you continue to repeat row 2 for as many rows as you wish to create your chevron stitch blanket. THANK you!
I have been making this for over 30 years. The pattern that I have, you skip 2 stitches instead of one to create the "valley" of the chevron and also skip 2 stitches at the beginning and the end. The pattern also works on the back loops of the stitch. It looks the same, just more defined. Wish I could post a picture.
Some people crochet three stitches together instead of skipping two stitches. Skipping seems easier. So many thanks. However, I think I will work my stitches only in the back loop instead of both. I prefer the look this gives.
i know this video is old but do you happen to remember where you got this/these hooks? i love them! great video, easy to follow along with even without sound on
Is it possible to make a border so that the blanket is more of a rectangle around the entire border and opposes to the top and the bottom being just chevron(if that makes sense)? It looks like yours had a border but I’m just not sure how to make it. Thanks!
I am trying to work through these instructions to help a friend making this blanket. At the end of the 1st row the instruction say to do 2 SC is the 1st chain in the following row. I tried this and nothing lines up in the following rows. In watching the video, the 2SC is actually going into the last single crochet of the previous row and not the chain 1space. I did it this way and everything lined up great. Please review thebinstructions
This is where I'm at I just started row 3 and it is wider than 2 but there's literally no way to crochet in the chain one so I'm doing it in the last stitch of the previous row and hoping it all lines up as I keep going
I always end up with two extra chain stitches at the end of row one. I have done over several times. Am I missing something? Should I be skipping the next to last one and then put the two single stitches in last chain. Maybe I just can't count!?? Thank you.
I could not figure out how to make a larger blanket? Can someone help me with the count of how to begin? And after the set do you skip one and go 7 or just do 7 Sc?
So the ends of the blanket faces up. Shouldn’t it face down to make it hang correctly? Every chevron or Zig zag I have don’t works the opposite. I guess just my personal preference. This looks strange imo. I like the stitch though. 😊
This is such a beautiful pattern. I'm a beginner eager to make one for my nephew, I'm curious how do I get rid of the long yarn at the end of each chevron row? Do I just cut it off? I mean the leftover green yarn for example once you start "stitching" in the white chevron. I'm sorry if this is a silly question! Thank you.
this is a great question! You'll want to take a tapestry needle and weave the tail into it's coordinating color. Just a simple back and forth about 4 times into the space
I'm a newbie in crotchet but I'm getting better 1 yr in, I purchased this pattern, what problem I get confused Is when I chain one at the end an turn you say put 2 sc in starting chain in the, beginning, it seems kind of small to start there. is it the exact first place, or first stitch? I cant quite see where your putting your hook when you do it on video, anyone that knows can help me.. PLEASE
Denise Jackson hi! So the space where you place your CH 1 before the turn is the same space you’ll put the 2 SC. In this particular pattern the CH 1 doesn’t count as anything. In other patterns the CH 1 can count as a place holder for a normal SC stitch.
YarnHookNeedles Thank you so much you didn’t have take time out to reply but you did I am so grateful you did, I think I get it now.. I think I can complete this now.
YarnHookNeedles I may take you up on That lol I’m starting out on this project an will post the finishing may take awhile not fast an professional like you❤️

I like the colors used on this blanket. The pattern is not the most enjoyable for such a long project. I've made two other blankets, one a chevron or ripple. I started this one and frogged it because it doesn't work up as neatly as some other chevron stitches. I was using a half double stitch so that may have affected it. But nevertheless, I don't think I'll do this one. I do like the colors though
Me encantó esa manta en punto chevron pero más me encantaria Ya que hablan en inglés subtitular o de lo contrario poner las cantidades de cadenas Que utiliza en su muestra muchísimas gracias
I appreciate the pattern for beginners but you go way to fast wish you would show more of what your work looks like as it goes along ... Beautiful blanket though ...

I'm glad I didn't start yet I will do another one I saved
An easy tutorial and understanding of how many chains to start the foundation. Definitely subscribed.
Welcome aboard!
Love the way you teach. As a newbie, you clearly show the spaces to place your stitches in. Thank you kindly.
I can't wait to start my next blanket. I am going to use the Chevron Pattern. I thought it would be more complicated for some reason. I will be using three different colors and this will off the yarn perfectly. Thank you
I love this stitch I am trying to learn how to do this
Live this easy pattern teaching my niece to do this one. But making one for her will display when finished. 🤩🤩👍👍
And here’s me thinking it would be difficult to crochet chevrons! Thank you so much for this demo xxxx
IkR..I thought the same thing. I'm fixing to start a new blanket and may give this a try.

Nice pattern ❤love the way you teach ...thanks :)
Looks like something I can try- the throw on the blog is so pretty. Thanks for sharing!
I enjoyed your channel on your chevron stitch Barb wengert.

Can you do the same thing with double crochets?
i know this video is old but do you happen to remember where you got this/these hooks? i love them! great video, easy to follow along with even without sound on
Started this blanket so thankful for the great tutorials you made it so easy.

I L I VE THIS PATTERN! THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART ❤. WOULD IT BE POSSIBLE TO DO A BACK LOOP ONLY AND GIVE IT RIDGES ???
yes quite possible, only way to know is to try
xoxo
Can you do this the same way with double crochet
Can I use double crochet for this and if so, do I start with a chain 3.
Thank you for this. Always wanted to learn this and you simplified it for me and will be trying soon. Thx.
So do we end with 2 and start with 2? It seems like too many, but I have to keep going and hope I don't have to take it apart
I've always wanted to do a chevron blanket thank you for sharing
How many stitches do I cast on for twin size blanket using # 4 yarn for chevron blanket single crochet
Outstanding! I love how you’ve explained this stitch!
So glad you liked it!
Does the 3sc at the top of each chevron always fall in the same spot?
Loved this tutorial thank you so much

What would be the approximate length os women's cowl/ scarfe.
arf
Don't count the chain one but the first from the chain one. I hope this helps.
Will it work still if double crochet? Thanks
Yes it does!
Simply lovely💜💜⭐
Love this tutorial on the chevron blanket. Thank you for showing how to change colors. You are a great instructor!
You are so welcome!
What brand of yarn did you buy for the lime green yarn?
I want to make a lap blanket how many stitches to I need
If you use thicker yarn does do any of the counts change?
How many stitch or chain for red heart super saver ombré
Thank you for the tutorial . Does it work if I use double crochet stitch?
That’s what I’m doing and it seems to be working fine! :)
Absolutely - doing it now! 😀
@@janwiggins1719 It's done :)
Instead of blanket I made for scarf .
Wish i could find the free pattern. Would love to try
How to elevate those bars? Will it come out as I finish the stitch?
My question exactly.
Can you use same pattern with dbc
That’s what I’m doing and it’s working well.
Thank you
Edges suppose to be straight?
I need to see the Chevron blanket on you tube and can’t find it? Can u help?
Lovely
Very nice
Thanks
How can you do it in double crochet patern?
Very good but what do I do with the loose thread at the ends?
Weave them in with your yarn needle
How do you count the rows
I always end up with two extra chain stitches at the end of row one. I have done over several times. Am I missing something? Should I be skipping the next to last one and then put the two single stitches in last chain. Maybe I just can't count!??
Thank you.
Marita Borowski one option is to put a stitch marker in your first and last stitches. This might help you make sure you’re not adding anywhere.
Thank you so much!
For the throw blanket using 4 colors, how many balls of each yarn would I need?
In the website pattern it says to chain 146. I did that and came up short. So it would be 146 plus chain 2 right? For a total of 148?
For it to equal a multiple of 16, it is 144 chains plus 2 more, which equals 146, I believe.
Best and easiest sc chevron stitch
Would this work in hdc? And would the starting chain remain the same? Thank you 😊
Yes that would work!
@@Yarnhookneedles Thank you ❤️
how many stitches for a double blanket in order to get the proper chevron look?
Nice pattern
Thank you! Cheers!
You are the best easy to flo
increasing 3 on top but only skipping 1 on the bottom. does that take it out of balance?
You’re not increasing stitches. You’re putting them all into 1 stitch- therefore making a “hole”.
I could not figure out how to make a larger blanket? Can someone help me with the count of how to begin? And after the set do you skip one and go 7 or just do 7 Sc?
I would love to know as well ❣️🧶
I did a chain of 290 (16×18=288 +2 =290) and it makes a good sized blanket. I've made 5 so far and working on making another in fall colors.😊
@@tootsiequiltthank you!

What kind of yarn you are using? Please tell me the name of yearn?
Jame Ahmed I used the JoAnn big twist yarn for this blanket 😉
Love it
What hook are you using?
5mm hook.
How do you turn on post notifications?
Kim Williamson when you subscribe you’ll want to click the little bell to the right of that button too 😊
So it is in multiple of sixteen.you had 2 xtra stitch for every sixteen
The way I took it was it had to be multiple of 16 and put 2stitches extra only at the very end. But I'm a newbie so I'm still learning

I think I found it
That chevron looks small can she just make it longer and taller.
Megusta mucho el crochet
Hell how do I add the borderline and make it straight
Lieu Nguyen hi! For this particular chevron style I didn’t add a border 😞 I sincerely apologize if that’s frustrating.
How mam
Great pattern but honestly by you counting out loud it messes with someone trying to follow along. Just a tip
Someone always has to find a reason to complain. Turn volume off and put cc on!!

How many chains she make and how many rows she do. And what kind of crochet hook she use.
