I am SOOO tempted to tell you what the British English equivalent words for some of the American English words you used in this video are.
I will when I get some time.
Please don't do what so many US service people do and rarely venture off base. This "Green and Pleasant Land" is knee deep in history, lovely towns and villages and gorgeous scenery.
One final and very important thing: when off base PLEASE remember to drive on the left. We do not want a repeat of the recent tragic incident when a family member exited their base then drove on the right hand side of the road. They collided with a young motorcyclist. He died of his injuries. 😥
As if that wasn't bad enough they then fled back to the US, claiming diplomatic immunity.
You can imagine that the great British public were outraged.
Remember, whilst you are very welcome visitors to this country, at the end of the day this is our country and you are foreigners in a foreign land. You may find that some of the things we do and how we do them are rather odd to you. Just accept that in the same way that we do when in your country and we are the foreigners.
That said, I hope that you and your family have a marvelous time over here and that when you do return to the US you will do so with wonderful memories of your time in the UK. 😃👍
    Keep posting!

In the UK, we would describe that as a "Galley Kitchen", i.e. like on a ship's galley. It's not ideal, but it works well enough where floorspace is an issue. The 'fridge' is the standard size for most UK households. Some people have an "American fridge" (as we refer to them), but it's certainly not standard.

How long of a wait did/have you had for a house? We (family of 5) will be heading to Lakenheath in December.
