Im a dodge nut hugger as much as the next guy.
But the hemi platform was outdated.
It needed 2 spark plugs just to be compliant, aint no way it would have survived much longer.
The hellcat used to be bang for the buck, for $70k you got a 1000whp capable car with just FBO.
The 5.7 and the 6.4 were good engines but the reason 99% of them were left stock is because by the time you would be done building it youd have spent more then you did on a hellcat!
If dodge wants to survive, they have to take what they learn from the I6 and apply it to a V8.
Small displacement V8, like, let's say, 5 liter twin turbo.
The I6 is 3 liters, pushing 550
If you turn it into a V8 configuration and add a little more stroke to 5.0 mark, just on bro math you should be about 800hp since we are adding about 60% more displacement
Now, if they do this, they could literally just build 1 engine option. Equip every trim with the same 5.0 hurricane. Same ZFHP95 transmission. And have the trims be set up like this
R/T or Scat N/A 5.0 hurricane v8 450hp
Hellcat twin turbo 800hp
Redeye high output twin turbo 900hp
Demons high output flex fuel
1000hp
Definitely possible, if the demon is making 1000hp on E85 using 21lbs of boost that means NA its making close to 420hp

Women love electric cars because they’re cute and look sensible. So if you’re worried about any car making you look gay, I’d have to say pay attention to the kind of attention it brings you and not the kind of stereotype that proceeds it. Hope this helps someday.

what dodge did with the charger and what ford did with the mustang is just beyond sad. electric cars are absolutely worthless. time and again they have been proven to be uneconomical and way worse environmentally compared to conventional gasoline powered cars.

More like government regulations have killed the Dodge V8. Dodge doesn't have enough variety of good sellers like Ford does, that they can average out their MPGs when it includes hemi V8s that get atrocious gas mileage. Thank God that the Ford Mustang and the Chevy Corvette are still around carrying the torch for the great American performance V8.
Please explain how Ford and Chevy can produce ice cars but Dodge can’t , same with Toyota and Honda. Manufacturers are realizing that EV isn’t the way to go and government isn’t going to stop them making ice
They could look into rebranding the GTX, RR's, Cuda's, Dusters. This would provide some internal competition like the good old days!
@@EddieV19 Not just ICE cars, but V8s is what I was talking about. I think I already explained this. Dodge doesn't sell that many models, and the Chargers were very popular. A refreshed V8 would sell like hotcakes again if not grossly overpriced. But the government would penalize them big time. Stallantis paid $236 million in fines in the 2018/2019 model because of their average mpg. That was up from $157 million ins 2016/2017. Can only imagine what kind of fines they would have to pay if they put a HEMI in a new popular model.

Also, muscle cars do NOT have four doors. The Charger should have ALWAYS been two door cars. So in my opinion it was a mistake when they brought it back with four doors. In my opinion, they could have made two different versions of the Charger when they brought it back. A two door R/T, road and track for the muscle cars lovers and a four door L/E for law enforcement. I owned a 68 Charger R/T back in the early 70's and that's how it should have stayed!!!
I agree with you! But still the 4 door they brought back was a success. But having an electric muscle car is just an embarrassment

What sense would it have made for dodge to make a 2 door challenger and a 2 door charger.
Dont forget the only reason dodge survived was because of the hellcat platform.
It would make no sense for them to not only compete with gm and ford but themselves.
@@leopapio683 Because that is what a muscle car is. Do you have any recollection of what the muscle car era was? How many four door "muscle cars" were there made. In addition, both the Charger, Challenger, Coronet, and the Dart all were two doors. So it must have made sense then, so why not now?
@jimmcgrath8417 that's the same argument for why are there no more station wagons? Why is everything a crossover or an SUV?
That's because manufacturers will make what sells, same as too why manuals are considered more and more rare, you know save the manuals slogan ?
You also have to think, stealantis is in charge now, only thing we can hope for is the trash the dodge name plate so bad that they sell it off and whoever buys them brings it back.
@@leopapio683 I agree with your last two statements. However, comparing station wagons, crossovers, and SUV's to muscle cars is apples and oranges, in my humble opinion. I'm sure that it is a generational thing, resulting in my having grown up during the era of when muscle cars were new. I could never imagine my old 68 Charger R/T, my old 70 Road Runner, or my now 09 Mustang Bullitt having any more than two doors!

To be fair, there wasn't much muscle in Dodge's muscle cars. Their cars were only fast on a prep'd drag strip with drag tires.

Mostly correct, with the exception of the Road Runners, Road Runner Superbird, Chargers R/T, and the Daytona Charger. Chrysler won a lot of big races back in the day!
To tell you the truth Muscle cars in the 60s and 70s were only meant to go fast in a straight line

This is a terrible looking charger, never the same as the concept or the unveiled one at the auto show. IMO= Two doors is all that it has going for it.
