Of all the muscle car companies to get rid of snarling V8 engines, Dodge was the LAST one that I expected to do so. This seems like a MASSIVE miss to me.
The EPA literally forced it on them. They've never figured out how to make a V8 more efficient than they could in the 70s, regardless of how much power they're making now.
@@xxwake4lifexx They did, in power levels. But even with modern technology I'm pretty sure no hemi has matched the fuel efficiency GM was able to eek out of their PUSHROD gen 3/4 small blocks that still made good power. Not that it matters now since the LS is dead, the Camaro is dead, GM is out of the muscle car scene and Dodge is still there. Ford's coyote is pretty good too so props to them for finally making a good engine after years of things like the 4.6 3v.

When Stellantis made RAM it’s own brand I really don’t know why Tim didn’t put into production a new Dodge medium size pickup truck like the Toyota Tacoma, Ford Ranger and GMC Canyon. I don’t why Tim didn’t come out with a new mid size pickup truck. Dodge Ram pickup trucks were Dodge’s number one maker. @@mrsoisauce9017 EVs are supposed to be quiet and boring? Quiet, okay. But are you suggesting the Tesla Plaid, Mercedes AMG, GMC Hummer, or the Hyundai N you mentioned (along with plenty others) are boring? Energy efficient does not mean boring. It just means cleaner.
@@jtsangerman I meant to reply to the main guy, not this dude. My bad Edit: in response to him tho, they never said the EV wasn't efficient or clean. They just said that wasn't why they built it. Completely different wording that was taken far out of context by that dude. Also, EVs might not be the cleanest, but there is evidence to prove that they are indeed still cleaner than the equivalent ICE vehicles even taking into account the initial emissions deficit and assuming it stops exclusively at CO2 powered charging stations. And with all the potential advantages of EVs over ICEs from an engineering standpoint, it's a no-brainer to use. Really the only real downside is that the materials are usually mined in placed where there is child labor, but even then, that is a matter of getting it from more responsible sources
And thats only half the problem. The engine sounds out of the speakers.. its so.. embarrassing.. Tim Kuniskis cannot seriously think real engine sound can be replaced with a recording. He knows very well that the MOPAR community knows what an engine is, and that we're real car enthusiasts who will not fall for this nonsense. And the other nonsense about vibrations being added to simulate an engine.. This can't be real. He was forced to do this. Dodge needs to end up in American ownership again, thats the only way this insanity will end.
Dodge could have saved millions on development costs, if they only attached a baseball card to the rims and got that real throaty sound like my schwinn muscle bike did back in the 70's. This new design reminds me of when Dodge worked with Shelby to make a special edition Charger back in the 80's.
They definitely aren't and time will show! No way I'll go electric and it's not what true American muscle was built on. Ford is about to take flight and hurt some electric feelings. It's not all about the horse power but the feel the smell and the sound. Staying with my hellcat 🫡
What system are they even fighting? Their parent company? They aren't fighting then. If Stellantis as a whole cared so much about their performance vehicles and performance trims for Dodge, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, and Fiat/Abarth they wouldn't try to make them electric. They would have instead subsided the emissions fees by making more hybrid and electric vehicles for the rest of the line-up. This is a very simple thing they could have done, but they choose not to because they do not actually care.

Of all the muscle car companies to get rid of snarling V8 engines, Dodge was the LAST one that I expected to do so. This seems like a MASSIVE miss to me.
It’s going to sell like hot cakes
The EPA literally forced it on them. They've never figured out how to make a V8 more efficient than they could in the 70s, regardless of how much power they're making now.
A miss for who?
@@wob6776 you'd think such a large company would have made some progress in 50 years.
@@xxwake4lifexx They did, in power levels. But even with modern technology I'm pretty sure no hemi has matched the fuel efficiency GM was able to eek out of their PUSHROD gen 3/4 small blocks that still made good power. Could be wrong but I know Corvette owners see 30mpg out of their 6 speed LS1/6s and LS2s with cylinder deactivation, which I just have never heard of with any hemi.
Not that it matters now since the LS is dead, the Camaro is dead, GM is out of the muscle car scene and Dodge is still there. Ford's coyote is pretty good too so props to them for finally making a good engine after years of things like the 4.6 3v.

Ohhh man yes that was when Dodge sold pickup trucks instead just high performance vehicles. Just like Ford and Chevy their pickup trucks are their number one money makers. Dodge could’ve came up with a new cool name that stood out from the Ford Ranger, GMC Canyon, Toyota Tacoma and Honda Ridgeline and made the styling aggressive and aerodynamic with a nice interior could’ve called it the Dodge Rampage, the Dodge Impact, the Dodge Rampage or they could’ve brought the Dodge Dakota name back since they bringing names back lol

My bad
Edit: in response to him tho, they never said the EV wasn't efficient or clean.
@jtsangerman It is boring because it limits performance and quality and it’s not even cleaner

Wow. Way to “fight the system” by conforming to it and trying to push dogshit down the customers throats and convince them it’s chocolate cake. 🤣
