It’s a V-6 not a V-8 so stop trying to compare it to a V-8, I’ve rented chargers and challengers V6s and V8s because I go out of time a lot and I end up buying a charger GT and I’m not disappointed, if u want to pay more in insurance, gas and car note just to go 0-60 a second or two faster and here the engine rumble a little louder do it but that wasn’t my goal and I love my GT it’s fast enough for a V6 faster then my 2014 impala and I got plenty of compliments , believe it or not people don’t ask rather it’s a V6 or V8 they just compliment the car but it all depends on what’s important too you!

@@EmEs1018 I agree, can compare Chally GT AWD and R/T (5.7) and still it surprises me that the little V6 is not that slow. Of course it lacks the magic sound and low-end torque but it is still nice to drive (namely compared to European normal cars). The interior sounds are in fact not unpleasant too, for a V6 (decent burbling sound around 1200-1500 rpm comes from the back resonators and nice roar around 4 grand). The major difference while normal driving beside the sound is the gas pedal position - you realize that with Hemi you are about to just feather the gas but the V6 needs a bit more dive to metal:-) Mileage is a bit better - it's like where the V6 ends in suburban style of traffic, the Hemi starts on open road. V6 is good daily+ and Hemi for fun - silly European's perspective🙂Of course nothing beats the old-school V8 rumble! Glad to enjoy both while I can...

Pretty sure the majority of people who hate on v6 chargers have never driven them at all....
I owned a 2010 3.5 v6 and by no means was that car fast and I told myself I'd never get a v6 charger again....
That was untill I went to upgrade and drove a 2021 3.6 gt and let me tell you the difference was night and day!
I also drove a 2019 rt the same day from the same lot and honestly the speed difference between the rt and the gt was so minimal I ended up buying the gt. And couldn't be happier.
Is it a track racing car, hell no!
But if you want something that is some what fuel efficient and has some get up and go you won't be disappointed....
I dont take my car to a track but I am one for racing here and there at red lights and so far this v6 can run down 90% of cars on the road

Good review, Issac. Although the base GT is a terrific value, I find it far less appealing at $50K+. In addition, pairing this Dodge's overt, street-racer styling with the Pentastar V6 does strike me as mildly absurd. Therefore, because I am a fan of Mopar's V6/AWD combination, I would opt for the Chrysler 300 with the same powertrain. Whereas I have probably aged-out of the Charger's retro-racy looks, the 300's classic styling still works for me. Keep up the good work!

Didn’t care for the POV style. I find when people do the POV style, their hands are distracting because they’re waving and gesturing with them too much. I’d rather see the car than their hands. Regarding the Charger, I’d buy it in a hot minute! I prefer V6’s. You didn’t mention the gas mileage advantage, or Dodge’s great V6 reliability record.

I had the Scat Pack and it obviously has a lot more power, but it's power you can't really use in real-world, daily driving. It had the exact same tires as the GT and looked almost exactly the same. Except for the power, the real difference is the cartoon character logos on the Scat Pack.

  • @slumpindabuilding2110
    @slumpindabuilding2110 5 месяцев назад +4

No hate to the the channel owner. You have not done your research. The prices of these models are 50k+ because of markups. The markups have been outrageous this year and there has been a statement made that no mark-ups on these vehicles starting next year. The base trim is suppose to be 34k to 36k for the GT with no add ons. Also, you got add ons on yours which is why it probably was 51k. I know your just reviewing the car but this is just a warning for those who watch your video and see this. Thanks for the review!

With the 300 hp V6 moving this approx. 4100 pound car, it'll do 14.7-14.8 in the 1/4 mile at 93-95 mph trap speed. It tops out an a COMPUTER LIMITED 131 mph. So in response to your comment "it's slow', no, it's actually pretty spirited/spunky bordering on quick. My wife's 2015 AWD Rav 4 with a 173 hp straight four cylinder is slow, but even that is enough as a daily driver.

That's my issue with Dodge and with this particular model: They over-dressed it, it is slower than it looks, 300hp really isn't that impressive on car like this, it deserves to be faster. Dodge didn't even try to make it 3.7 liters like a lot of its competitors cars' have like Infiniti, Ford, Chevy etc.. There is almost not 1 thing this V6 has an advantage on compared to its competitors in terms of performance. Only advantage is this Charger's Pentastar engine's impressive reliability for it's muscle class, it can indeed take a beating.

Okay so would the V6 get better gas mileage than the V8? If so I would be fine with the V6. Also the format was fine, but I think the other is better. And I don't know if it was just cause you did it different than normal or there just isn't enough room in the back. You was on the opposite side and didn't show the head and leg room. I figured it's probably to snug for most people in the back.

The Charger GT is really the same car as an R/T but with AWD and two less cylinders. People buy these because they live up north and need AWD. It's not because we want a V6, it's because they no longer offer AWD with the V8 to civilians. A pity. The HEMI with AWD was a monster. The GT has 8 more horsepower than a base Charger. Not a lot more, but hit the "Sport mode" button and you will feel the difference. Don't blame the buyers. We want the V8 but need AWD. Dodge took that choice away from us. The GTs 300 hp is 70 hp less than the Hemi. And when you're navigating thru snow and ice, maybe that's a good thing. American sedans are an endangered species. The future looks bleak for those of us who like gas engine sedans. EVs are great for those of you who live in moderate climates. My Dodge Rep says that the next generation of Chargers will be all EVs. They "might" offer a gas version with a straight six. Nobody really knows for sure yet.

I drove a Scat Pack for 2.5 years and I'm now driving a GT. The main reason is the true cost to own difference is $362/month, and except for the power and sound (noise?), they are the same cars. The only power difference I notice is the Scat Pack could do a 0-60 pull in 4.2 seconds and the GT takes 6.0 seconds. I'll give up the 1.8 seconds and take the $362/month.

      Nah v8 are toys,
Some people want more practicality with the body they enjoy. If chargers didn’t look like chargers, I wouldn’t care about the power.
The v6 has decent power and also looks sweet. I don’t need a v8 to go grocery shopping and I’m not tryna hang with a bunch of other v8 owners like it’s the biggest accomplishment of my life to have a car .
I want to be able to go places
And not be worried about gas mileage and gas stations as easily or being on every cops radar.
      V8s aren’t very useful.
