    I have a 392 Challenger and the 5.7 Charger. They are both great in their own way. The 392 is fun for cruising around, especially with a stick, but it guzzles the premium fuel like crazy. For every day use the 5.7 on regular fuel has been great. I often get mileage in the high 20s and sometimes in the low 30s on highway runs. We are not in the 70s any more. Many higher tech lighter cars will blow the doors off these, so you need to enjoy the nostalgia and unique attributes of a V8 as your reason for choosing Mopars. My 15 and 16 have been trouble free and easy and affordable to maintain. I have remained impressed with the value of these cars when you consider all the features that are included…..or at least for what I paid back in 15 and 16 lol.

    I think the R/T is the sweet spot in the Charger lineup. The price is more affordable, and the performance is still high enough to get your adrenaline pumping. I rent R/Ts from my local car rental company, and they blow me away every time. The engine doesn't overpower the grip. The rumble from the engine is nice, but on the highway I wish there was a way to turn it off so I can hear my music.

    Back when I had my 2019 5.7 challenger I was neck and neck with stingers at the drag strip. I was running 12.92-12.98 1/4 miles with just a upgraded rear tire to get me off the line and I would do consistent 4.5 0-60’s. I won most of the time by a narrow margin. Our ET’s were very similar usually only about a tenth or half a tenth difference. Overall, the v8 torque and sound is the way to go. Especially with how close they are in performance.

The hatch was amazing to have but the trunk space in the charger is great! I personally enjoy v8 sounds and the style of the charger. The stinger has a market and people love them! If you need AWD hands down stinger gt2 but I live in Iowa and get around fine in our winters with AWD. The charger has a lot of character still in 2022. I have the Daytona package and find the seats to be like recliners vs the stinger. I like the uconmect system the most and the interior really isnt as bad as people make it to be in the higher trims. Ultimately you gotta drive them both and figure out what you care about in a vehicle and what's gonna suit you

Also another reason why I think price drops are uncertain is with less and less gas performance cars being made especially rwd v8's I think for the enthusiast market their price with be pretty stable because the used market is gonna be what people are relying on in the future to get these old gems

    Joe,
    Thanks for the honest and through review of the Dodge Charger RT; I watched it several times! I was deliberating between a 2023 Ford Mustang Ecoboost HPP and a Dodge Charger RT or Scat Pack. I watched multiple videos on each car, by different You Tube reviewers, before making my final decision. Your reviews on each car were the most thorough and detail oriented.
    I decided on a 2023 Dodge Charger, in the RT trim. Yes, the Scat Pack...and the Mustang Ecoboost HPP, are faster in stock form. But, as you said in your Charger RT video, the RT is a better "Daily Driver" than the Scat Pack (and probably better than the Mustang too), which is exactly what I want. A sedan is more practical for me as an everyday driver than the Mustang Ecoboost HPP...even though the RT's gas mileage will be worse than the Mustang and slower than both the Mustang and the Scat Pack. I went back-and-forth between the RT and Scat Pack; ultimately, I decided the cost of the extra HP and torque of the Scat Pack did not merit the additional cost ($7K in my Scat Pack build), due to the lack of opportunity to utilize the Scat Pack's extra HP and torque as a daily driver and the fact I have no intentions of racing the car or taking the car to a track.
    I ordered a 2023 Dodge Charger RT in B5 Blue with the Plus Group, Technology Package, and the Performance Handling Group; the only options I wished I could have added as factory options are a limited slip 3:09 rear end differential and 275 MM tires all around. I will add both of these options as after market additions to my RT for at/about $3K, after the initial break in period of my RT is completed and the RT will be, in my opinion, a near perfect daily driver. Again, thanks for the great review of the Charger RT; your honest analysis of the car's ability to perform as a great daily driver with classic muscle car sound and enough power to have "spirited fun" in a safe manner, while not resulting in the car's rear end "wagging all over the place like a dog" in a dangerous manner, were excellent points and much appreciated. I can't wait to pick up my B5 Blue RT in a few months! :)

Overall best bang for your buck I have to say the Stinger Gt wins every time. But I needed to go 4dr and the prices for these Dodges in 2021, no im not doing not when I know they’re inflated prices it’s Insane!!! I love my Kia but if you need a car to seat more than 4 get the Charger!!! The stinger wins in day to day chill riding but has the sport mode that lets you GOOO! The stinger absolutely kills the Dodge in tuning. I mean a chip($1100) and some intakes and I’m hanging with 392s and actually beating them off the jump. Now the Dodge is probably the car ya pass down to your kids tho. I’ll own another when I’m ready for a Hellcat

    This is coming from a Mopar guy: I had a 2021 RT Daytona on order, and cancelled it and got a 2022 Stinger GT Elite 3.3L AWD instead...and can tell you the Stinger destroys the RT, in looks, value and performance. Dodge's interior is dated as hell; the Stinger is a mix of BMW+Audi+Mercedes for the interior. The exterior gets me mistaken for a Maserati a lot. 8.4" screen vs 10.5", Brembo's vs not, flat bottom steering wheel vs not, shitty acceleration vs...not lol. Get a Stinger and you won't be disappointed

    • @militarized_stingergt2850
      @militarized_stingergt2850 3 года назад +7

      Highly disagree. I’ve driven both (among others) and went with the Stinger for obvious reasons.
      The ONLY thing a charger has going for it is the V8 sound and the R/T’s sound is even subpar compared to even a Scatpack.
      But compare them as cars in general, Stinger wins hands down in looks, speed, acceleration, handling, practicality, luxury.
      Plus with a modified exhaust, the Stinger sounds great. Stinger will also last a heck of a lot longer than any Charger as well.
      There is almost no turbo lag so idk what that’s about and “light steering”? try taking the car out of Eco and Comfort mode then get back to us.
      I used to not care for Kia until i drove the Stinger. Best car purchase i’ve ever made “so far”.

    With the Stinger, one has a stressed, turbocharged V6 versus a loping, easy going V8 in the Charger with NO TURBOS to replace. The V8 should last longer and have better maintenance. Finally, there is LESS TO BEEAK, which is always a plus, because there are no twin turbos, no twin intercoolers, and none of the associated piping to break or leak. You also get the V8 SOUND, versus a V6 "sound" in the Stinger. For my HARD EARNED money, it's Charger R/T all the way!!!!!!

      @jordancameron2482 3 года назад +4

      My dad had a 6.1 and a 6.4 Charger, and I have a 5.7 Challenger RT. IMO it depends on what you're' doing with the car, if you're storing it, budget, and options. 6.4 is a monster, limited modability. Can get the widebody option with 305 tires for better traction, which you will need. Super low ground clearance, roughly 3 to 4 inches if I recall correctly. Requires premium fuel, stiffer ride than the 5.7, 0-60mh in 4.2 seconds.
      The 5.7 still sounds great, still has plenty of pull. Does not require premium fuel unless you get a 6 speed. Can be optioned to have similar performance equipment as the scat, although you can't get 6 piston brembos, only the 4 piston Loads of options and can be up to roughly 600RWHP safely, if you want to do a build. 0-60mph in 5.1 seconds.
      I loved the 6.4 my dad had, it was incredibly fast and so much fun. My 5.7 is still an amazing ride, very comfortable and plenty of power. I don't race and daily drive my RT thru winters as well. You can do it with a 6.4 but the ground clearance might be an issue.
      Hope that helps!
      the 6.4 has 480hp and 470lbs torque. the 5.7 has 370hp and 395lbs torque. (For the Charger, slightly lower than the Challenger with the same powerplants)
