Scatpack vs RT 0-60 on the Street.. This Shocked me!

  • I compare the 5.7 charger RT to the 6.4 equipped charger scatpack to see which trim is faster on the street from 0-60. The Scatpack has over 100 more horsepower; however, the RT may not have the same issues with spinning. Who do you think will come out on top?

As U are talking about this with these tires modifications Ur suggesting. Would changing all the tires to either 275-305 setup. Would that help with the traction control so Ur not losing control of your Challenger-Charger especially in different weather climates? Esp since U normally just mention to only change the back wheels to 305-310 ( with a spacer so Ur tires don't wear out on a certain spot so U have to change them more often) setups depending on car U have to reduce this spin & tail drifting out of control etc

Not to surprising dodge understates the rt power, and overstates the scat packs so they can convince more people to pay for that extra trim model. My challenger puts out 395-400 horspower consistently, my buddy's scat puts out 470-475, so the difference in power is closer to 65-70 horspower. That extra torque is noticeable with some larger tires but in the end its not really enough to justify the increase in cost for most people. Plus, the 5.7 hemi has a special place in my heart for being around for so long.

Biggest reason I got my rt was the price tag. My car was cheaper than scats with less options. My car isn’t fully optioned out, but there were scats with less options, and arguably not as nice, that were 10,000 dollars more expensive.

I had a couple races with my RT next to a SP on the streets (no traffic around) and both guys were surprised and kept asking me what I did to my car and I was still running the shitty 245s. Of course after 60 they both left my ass terribly as that's when that 115 hp bump disrespectfully leaves the 5.7 😂. So what I’m trying to say here is 2.62 is great for gripping the road and less slip while the the 3.09 will get you to top speed the quickest . It’s funny that they reached the same 0-60 times

@@joesmith-rm7px launch control shuts off if you wait too long before launching. that would be my only criticism. if you're using launch control and you still get a smoke show, you're doing it wrong. follow instructions. when done correctly, the launch control utilizes traction control and stability control, regardless of which drive mode you're in. just grabs and goes. trying holding both gas and brake for a few seconds before releasing the brake.
