To answer your question, I had each Scat :Pack by at least a car and a half. They have tremendous torque and excellent horsepower. They also outweigh Black Beauty (my Mustang) by about 600 pounds and that definitely makes a difference.
I had a 15 srt charger, now I have a 2020 widebody challenger and trust me the 20inch 305 tires makes a hella difference! Most of the cars that used to barely beat me barely loose now.
Torque always wins especially in an 1/8 mile. My 496 8.1 vortec swapped 1978 corvette makes 640 torque at 3800 rpm and 600hp at 5500rpm. Its a monster of an engine. But its GM last year big block from 2007 with a LS Design in a big block. Nothing LS fits obviously. But its got cathedral heads, LS firing order. But 496 cubes. Love your Scat Torque! Amazing video! Love your channel
The Challenger is still my favorite muscle car. I have loved it ever since it was unveiled back in 2008. I just wish it could shed some pounds without destroying everything we love about it. They should make a new frame but keep the shape exactly the same. One thing they could do is give us a smaller dashboard so we can sit closer to the hood like a real retro car.
I've been a Mopar guy for years and love my 21 spwb shaker. I don't care who I can be beat by in a race, mine is a daily driver and it's fun, and all of these cars are fast enough to get you a ticket from the popo. Keep up the good content RacerX!
I like that you enjoy all cars and don't hate. I've never been a dodge fan but here I am contemplating a charger. I love any sedan with power. I miss my Chevy SS.
i think the stang is the best for the price and power. one of the best auto transmissions on the market and super crazy moddability. 500whp with bolt ons + e85 tune
Video backed up my thoughts on my scat. I’ve owned a lot of cars and people ask me if the scat is fast, I say no, it’s fun, but no, it’s not fast. That said I love driving it!
Svt89, I wish that fca would come back out viper. The Challenger is exactly what it's supposed to be: American muscle. It isn't a sports car. The new mustangs and cameros are sports cars and depending on the trim level borderline supercars. The fact that the chally is able to hang in the arena with these other cars is a testament to the ingenious design and build of the chally. Think about it, the Monte Carlo was the last "muscle car" Chevy dropped and that was 07, ford was the Thunderbird and that was what 97 because we can't count there redesign in the 2000's. You don't buy a chally to race through the corners, you buy a chally to be bada$$, aggressive and fun. Nobody can doubt it does those things in spades. Just my two cents.
@@chunkyhebrew8805 that is true, the Challenger isn't really meant for corners, but a lot of people underestimate just how capable they are in the turns, at least relative to their size and weight. Throw in some coilovers, shock tower braces, subframe connectors, and decent tires, and they feel like a totally different car.
I had a little fun with a scat in my slightly moded grandnational. All stock rotating assembly, Better exhaust Better fue system. slightly bigger turbo running 20psi of boost. 500hp and 600tq. The key with the grandnational is the 3.42 gears pull from low rpm not much for anything above quater mile. mid to low 11s. It's scary to floor it because that turbo delay then it's boom!
@@2seep Since it is a street car only he wanted to keep it conservative. Also with these cars the cooler the weather the more power. When the guy in Michigan did the 4.9 to 60 its was a less than 40 degree day. I run alcohol injection too.
Wish someone would speak on the weight difference between the 2015 and 16 Scat pack verses the newer ones. Newer ones 2018 and up are like 4300 lbs and if you have automatic transmission it's a little heavier. My car is a 2015 at 4080lbs, I changed mine out to a Mccleod Racing clutch set up with aluminium parts and I'm at 4040lbs. And 505hp.
Great video, new subscriber, love the comparisons. I have 2015 300c and love it! I just wish they still made them in the SRT 6.4L Trim level in the states.
Ironic this vid was posted yesterday.....my buddy just bought a low-mileage M4...looks great. I have a Widebody Scat and don't want to race him yet. The only real downside to these Scats it they are expensive to add HP....almost too expensive. Not sure what/if I will do anything other than the small mods I have
My wife is 63 and I am 59 so we bought a Challenger over the Camaro SS and Mustang. Much more comfortable ride and ease to get in and out of. We don't race but it is nice to have the horsepower on the highway. If I was a young man I think I would but the Mustang GT.
Same here Steve, I am 63 my wife is 57 We are more impressed with the comfort difference as well. We just got ours two days ago. F8 Green , we love it.
Love the videos, X, but I would have to disagree with the Supra comparison. As much as I absolutely love the Scat Pack, I've watched enough RUclips videos to know it can't hang with a stock Supra, at least not from a rolling start (have to clarify).
So answer me this, I ran a 2019 camaro ss in my 2020 charger scatpack, we took off same time and I was pulling off on him well into triple digits, question I have being new to the 392 is have they done something different for 2020 because I haven't lost to a mustang or a camaro
Racer X, thank you for another cool video. When I was 1st made aware of Scat PAKs and other models from MOPAR I became very impressed what they were giving us. Now with the release of many EV vehicles including trucks, I am no longer impressed as I was. I can now purchase a P/U truck for about the the same price or less than a Hell Cat and it will have more HP, equal or better 0-60 times , equal or better 1/8th or 1/4 mile times , and use it for everything such as a family Hauler, grocery hauler, pull travel trailers or haul lumber.. Mopar is about to launch some EVs like a Chargerwith around 1000 HP. Time will tell if gear heads will take the plunge and bring them home But no matter what, I Do not think anyone will ever be able to replace that American V/8 sound.
Thanks for the review I was torn between the challenger scatpack or the mustang gt with the performance pack well u helped me make up my mind the mustang gt it is!!!! It’s faster and handles better
Just came to see the M4 comparison. I had one a couple years ago and just got a 2021 scat charger a day ago. I miss my M4 it was def more fun and less of a fatty feel for sure. The M4 with a tune is murderous. The M4 REALLY starts pulling in the top end compared to the scat. On the freeway it would walk away for sure.
C5 Z06 all the way. 19 years old and they are STILL nearly as quick as a brand new Vette. They are also arguably one of the best driver's cars of all time and super light at only 3,100 lbs. They are also reliable and get 19/28 mpg. Definitely the best sports car bargain out there right now.
It's amazing to see how hard that stock N/A 4250 lb car will launch. Torque is obviously most responsible, but the 4.71 1st gear doesn't hurt, either. At what RPM does the stock converter stall?
And I beat an '18 mustang off the line. It was less than an 1/8 mile run. Betting he had a manual. He definitely left with his tail between his legs. I was very surprised how my SP handled him
@@richardlopez2908 Well, congrats! I bet he probably did have a Manual. I also am fairly certain he wasn't very experienced, or he got off to a slow start. Since my last post, I beat yet another Scat Pack. It's just a matter of physics. The Scat Pack outweights a GT by about 600 lbs, and they are too close in horsepower for the slightly greater stock Scat Pack horsepower to compensate for the weight disadvantage if the two drivers are equal.
Man that destroyer grey shaker with matte black, looks so good together and is a gorgeous machine. Does anyone know if the SP have Bilstein suspension, similar to the SRTs ? There are several differences between the two and the SRTs are always going to be superior, even though they share the same power plant. In a way, it is somewhat similar to a core that were produced for a few years stating in '13. Which was essentially a base sxt with 6.4, but I know that the SP are much better and is not even the same situation other than the motor. That is why I asked if they had the Bilsteins, and was just thinking that they could possibly even have their own set up maybe. LOL I obviously don't know alotta detail about either one of them, and is mainly because l own one of the older Challenger SRT8s and is alot different
@Love the smell of race fuel For 2021, there is no longer an SRT model. It has been replaced by the Widebody Scat Pack with the Brembo brake package. Before, the main difference between them was Bilstein suspension abd Brembo brakes, 6 piston front, 4 piston rear. With the Widebody Scat Pack and Brembo brake package, you get all of that minus the SRT badging. Now, that badging is only for the Hellcat models. I have the WB Scat Pack with the Brembo brake package and can attest that it's one BEAST of a machine.
@Chris Morris I was wondering how the G70 or Stinger compares to scat packs. I used to have Challenger rt (old 5 speed auto tans) and I had some minor mods (Diablo tuner, cai, headers, exhaust) and got 335 whp. It didn’t seem like it was all that much faster but sounded amazing especially with LT headers and exhaust. Fast forward to today and have G70 3.3tt now and boy is that thing quick. I did think about getting scat pack but I’ve matured (a little) and wanted something classy and fun to drive.👍🏼
I driven an 2019 Challenger 5.7 (Hertz rental), 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 (Turo rental Las Vegas), 2009 SL63 AMG (Turo rental Los Angeles), and a 2017 Audi S5 coupe (Turo rental San Francisco). The only issue I have with the Challenger is handling and the visibility being a big car. I never driven a SCAT pack and the most powerful car I even driven is the SL63 AMG (cost me $79/day to rent the vehicle before taxes and additional coverage) with a check engine light and a bad passenger strut. The Cayman GT4 has insane performance and so quick. The ride is rough but driving around Las Vegas in the wee hours of Sunday morning is insane fun. Audi S5 probably has the best value (you can purchase a 2013 for $16,000).

A French Story .. thank you my friend.. I appreciate the support on the channel.. hope you get that Mopar soon 👍
I agree with you those 10 speed transmissions are a game changer
They most certainly are Kareem 👍
I'll keep the 6 speed tremc. It's never not a blast to drive.
Thanks RacerX. I'm sure I'll meet some of these with my ScatPack. I did have a CTS think it could come around me on a roll but I handily held it off.
Mike Shelby .. nice work my friend.. stay safe out there 👍
New to the Challenger World, follow your Videos quite a while and get my 2017 R/T Shaker this Week and slow cant sleep. I came to the V8 3 Years ago when bought at the same Dealer my Corvette C5 Convertible which i still have and love too, but since saw and drove a Chally I knew I want that too. Go on in that way with your videos.
Cheers from Germany
Hans
the scat pack is still the same as it was when it released 5 years ago, all the competitors have gotten performance boosts and faster trans. I cant imagine when the scat gets refreshed
Yes less weight and a refreshed platform will be the golden ticket 👍
And im gonna be salty as fuck in my 19 scat knowing the new scats are faster 😒
@@mattike53218 scat1320 is the answer :) it's new not alot of hipe on it but it's cool idea I test drove one but I felt like my scat charger was faster mine runs 11.9 stock so far about to make some small changes and scat 1320 runs 11.7 on paper I just did not feel it on the test drive maybe they turned down first so many miles idk
Fair point. Test drove one this week ... A 2018... Then test drove a gen 3 19 stang... Both 6speed. The mustang def felt faster. Chally was very aggressive but the stang was scary fast in traffic
@Anthony Prieto 19 GT
Good job with this comparison. Don't forget the Challenger Scatpack 1320 edition. Quicker than a shaker or "standard" Scatpack and Dodge claims 11.7 @115 mph in the 1/4 mile.
Plenty of people at the strip hitting mid to low 11's also. Lowest I saw was 11.4 with just wider tires
Spooky 392 ....☝🏼yup
1320 is a really solid package as well 👍
@@gianlucascottodifrega I saw lower ETs as well (at the Hemi shootout at Atco , NJ last year) with speeds in the 117+ mph range as well. Just figured I'd quote Dodge's "official" performance figures.
Hard to compare the 1320 with the others tho! A drag tire makes all the difference in the world at the track!
The R/T and scat pack vs. other cars are my favorite videos !! Thanks :):)
I just found your videos and I'm hooked, 2 weeks ago I picked up my 22 Challenger RT Scat Pack and when I saw your 1st video I was hooked, first and foremost the one I got is the exact same color and a Shacker hood as well, so you answering alot of my questions that I have been thinking about and giving me an education of my new car. I started looking for one after I heard they were stopping the Hemi, it was used because it had 3200 miles on it but still has the full warranty on it and once I got it back to Yuma I was looking to see and everything I saw was a min of 6 grand more , so already made money
Anyways keep up the videos please, they are great
I kuv this channel.you are a true car guy and also unbiased towards other cars not from dodge. Great job 👍👍
RacerX? You're that guy on Grand Turismo 7....one of my nemesis.
Great review. I love my 2022 scatpack. First muscle car I’ve ever owned. Got to say I’m kind of bummed that it pretty much won’t beat anybody in a longer race though. 😩
Don't be bummed bro, all these cars have downsides. I got a SS and yeah I walk you in the long run but were talking mere seconds of difference, at the end of the day its nothing and we both slapping around these kids in the little GTI golfs.
@@joem1950 good point! It really is a bad ass car. I got the harmon cardon sound system, which is incredible. The bass is crazy thumping. (I’m a female btw lol. 👍)
@@bigtimetorifan yeah modern sound systems rock, I got a "12 sub in the back, so I know all about the bass 😂 and bro/broette, same same haha. I lose every race because im scared of tickets anyways hahaha. None yet!

@@bigtimetorifan I have only done 103 and it honestly feels like a crime we have put our motors through so little! haha
Great review! That’s why I upgraded to a pitch black 19 charger hellcat.. hehe.. then I don’t have to worry about the competition.. unless someone is heavily modded or some top tier supercar
matt someone with an SRT .. the hellcat is a monster for sure 👍
Dodge knows how to make a beast of an engine so strong that a challenger could destroy cars 1000 lbs lighter
Best Channel on youtube Car Wise by far I’ve been watching non stop last 2 days
I really enjoy your videos, I have learned a lot about scat packs, I have a 18 rt 6 speed 5.7 with mods, runs well for what it is best part is the sound of a V 8....thanks for the videos you do......
Absolutely Steve.. enjoy that R/T .. it is a really fun car 👍
I literally just raced a M4 in traffic yesterday. It was a very respectable race. He was a great driver as well. We did our thing in traffic
Most of those cars weigh 3600 lbs. I wish FCA would do that to the challengers!! Anyway, great info dude! 🤘🏼
FCA doesn't want to spend the money
Thank you Jay.. yes it would be great if fca could shave some weight off these things
@@RacerX9 FCA doesn't need to cut weight if they want to make it faster they give it more power. I love driving a 12 second tank.
Very rarely do cars get lighter as they change/upgrade models/generations.
@jizzyjake6783 yes more protection if you crash
Paul..you have got one of the most informational channels on YT! (Keep it up..(🤝)
I just don't understand, why Dodge don't see what they could do.. if they could drop down to just around 3.9-4.000lbs! That'd be a huge step-up an definitely a game changer! (🙏🇺🇸)

The 2015 weighs 4080lbs

What a great video , I sure miss driving my 2016 shaker scat pack these days , way too much snow right now in Vancouver Canada . The Scat Pack New Years resolution is to go on a huge diet lol. Cheers
Mike Point .. yes I’m sure you can’t wait for some driving weather lol.. stay warm
Mike Point I thought it only rained in Vancouver lol
You ever drive it in the snow? I was leaning toward a 392 thinking I could probably drive it year round, I have a summer car but need something fun for the other 3 seasons in the midwest.

I sold the car , I simply didn’t drive it , I put 9,000 kms on it 5 years . I bought a Chevy pick up , I did drive it once in the snow it didn’t go anywhere lol

Anthony Costa .. thank you my friend.. I appreciate the support 👍
My dream is a Charger widebody Scat...... Scat ALLLLLL day. I get how much more of a badass the Hellcat is, but for me, I'll take the Scat. And how cool is it that Mrs. X races with and lets her husband use her car in videos? This channel makes me smile Every video. Too cool.
Great video bro! Enjoyed the comparisons! 👍🏽
Thank you my friend.. 🤜🔥🔥
This guy is very modest and realistic. I like how he compares a wide range of vehicles.
Thank you my friend 👍
To answer your question, I had each Scat :Pack by at least a car and a half. They have tremendous torque and excellent horsepower. They also outweigh Black Beauty (my Mustang) by about 600 pounds and that definitely makes a difference.
I had a 15 srt charger, now I have a 2020 widebody challenger and trust me the 20inch 305 tires makes a hella difference! Most of the cars that used to barely beat me barely loose now.
Really good comparisons - thanks for bring this video
R- SHOT Accessories .. no worries my friend
Great video. Its nice to hear this info when someone is looking to buy a scat pack. Thank you
Torque always wins especially in an 1/8 mile.
Merica Muscle .. thank you my friend.. your right that engine is a beast 👍
Yo! Use a dead cat mic to kill off the wind interference. Great video btw like always!
I have an attachment coming 👍
Great video rx! Love my t/a 392. Just enough car to keep me out of traffic court!
Thank you Joe.. I think it’s just enough car to get you in trouble lol
Always look forward to the videos my man.
Thank you my friend 👍
Great video , the comparison of the different cars was awesome. Should do more👍
I've been a Mopar guy for years and love my 21 spwb shaker. I don't care who I can be beat by in a race, mine is a daily driver and it's fun, and all of these cars are fast enough to get you a ticket from the popo. Keep up the good content RacerX!
And you see all those people looking at you wishing they were sitting in that seat! Enjoy the ride!
I like that you enjoy all cars and don't hate. I've never been a dodge fan but here I am contemplating a charger. I love any sedan with power. I miss my Chevy SS.
Man I love all you're content! keep it up!!!
Thank you brother 👍
You are what motivated me to get my charger scatpack. I appreciate your videos.
You should do a similar video, but with the hellcat
i think the stang is the best for the price and power. one of the best auto transmissions on the market and super crazy moddability. 500whp with bolt ons + e85 tune
Great video! Love the stangs but goodness I love the scat packs too! I believe it's the best challenger/charger package...
They are a ton of fun to drive 👍
I love all cars, win or lose they are all badass
One of your best videos. SC is a 12.2 to 12.4 stock. Triple
the scat pack is such a beautiful car, i literally drool over this thing
Awesome comparison. I like your explanations a lot. Well though out arguments.
Thank you my friend
“Which is just flat stupid” 🤣😭🙏🏻 love your videos man, salute
Video backed up my thoughts on my scat. I’ve owned a lot of cars and people ask me if the scat is fast, I say no, it’s fun, but no, it’s not fast.
That said I love driving it!
Doing weight reduction with the 392 pays off big time .
Yes it’s definitely a mod in itself 👍
20psi and only 500whp?
@@2seep 4 something at the wheels.
Shane Troyer .. welcome to the channel my friend.. I really like the 300 👍
2019 Mustang GT, 2019 Camaro SS or 2019 Changer which one is the best. I’m looking for fastest or with the most space for passengers inside.
My 18..6.4 SRT top speed 300km per hour ...what are these cars topped out at?
I raced an M4 with my 6 speed Srt8 and it was a close race .
I love those close runs 👍
Steve Waggoner .. the challenger is a great choice! For an everyday driver car it’s probably the best of the bunch.. I think you did well 👍
why not a C7?
@@visionsoflightwiliams86 I can not afford a C7. If I could afford it I would go with the Hellcat Redeye.
Same here Steve, I am 63 my wife is 57 We are more impressed with the comfort difference as well. We just got ours two days ago. F8 Green , we love it.
EXCELLENT video man!!! After getting my Scat Pack I’ve always wondered these same match ups !!
2020 ss have a 10 speed automatic transmission...older models don’t
Great video X!
Great content as always Mr X
Thanks ✅
Thank you David 👍
Another great vid x keepem coming brother
Thank you my friend
Time will tell if gear heads will take the plunge and bring them home
But no matter what, I Do not think anyone will ever be able to replace that American V/8 sound.
Thanks for the review I was torn between the challenger scatpack or the mustang gt with the performance pack well u helped me make up my mind the mustang gt it is!!!! It’s faster and handles better
Would a wide body do any better at all? Better suspension and wider tires should help right?
Another great video👍🏻 keep it up!
Thank you Jason
Just came to see the M4 comparison. I had one a couple years ago and just got a 2021 scat charger a day ago. I miss my M4 it was def more fun and less of a fatty feel for sure. The M4 with a tune is murderous. The M4 REALLY starts pulling in the top end compared to the scat. On the freeway it would walk away for sure.
Good work keep going
Great video! Will you do one like this with the Hellcat/Hellcat Redeye?
Definitely something to consider 👍
C5 Z06 all the way. 19 years old and they are STILL nearly as quick as a brand new Vette. They are also arguably one of the best driver's cars of all time and super light at only 3,100 lbs. They are also reliable and get 19/28 mpg. Definitely the best sports car bargain out there right now.
I absolutely love the C5’s .. I owned 4 of them (all Z06’s)
It's amazing to see how hard that stock N/A 4250 lb car will launch. Torque is obviously most responsible, but the 4.71 1st gear doesn't hurt, either. At what RPM does the stock converter stall?
About 2500
These times you're quoting, is the street tires or drag radials? My best (Scat Pack) on Street Tires is 12.2 on Drag Radials 11.78.
Great job on the reviews brother 👍, good to see you making some videos 💯👍😀
Thank you Chris 👍
Hey racer x do a car review of the durango 392 and track hawk brotha
I beat two Scat Pack Challengers with my 2018 Mustang GT. That said, the Scat Pack is a beautiful beast to watch in a straight line.
Ya he was not a great driver!
I beat four 2018 GT mustang's with my scat .... so now you got to say you beat 6...lol
No one believes you dude....just stop.
love to see the mt/3.70 gear in the scat pack think it would be a great leap in performance.
I own a Scat Pack and a Genesis G70 3.3t. The G70 leaves the SP in the dust. Thing is, I don't care. SP is just flat-out fun. Nuff said!
You really have the best videos man, very detailed!
Thank you my friend
Great video man!
Thank you my friend
Nice job man.....Ironic this vid was posted yesterday.....my buddy just bought a low-mileage M4...looks great and he got it for $42K. I have a Widebody Scat and don't want to race him yet. The only real downside to these Scats it they are expensive to add HP....almost too expensive. Not sure what/if I will do anything other than the small mods I have
I agree .. the 392 motor is expensive to squeeze more horsepower out of.. not a ton of bang for the buck like the hellcats.
Me being 6'1 I prefer the scatpack. I'm not trying to cram myself into a smaller car just because it weighs less.
I like how you’re so non biased alot of guys would be saying my scat pack is faster than all of em... its me im alot of guys lol j/k great vid tho
LOL I didn’t know we were last between the gt n ss 😭 damnit
So what I got from this video is, the ScatPack will not beat anything sve a 92' Camary. So never race for pinks.
