Too many people buy performance cars and either beat the crap out of them and pass them off to the next sucker or hide them away and never drive them. And too many people are scared of miles. Thanks again Johnny, been watching you Scat vids since '16.
I have a 2017 Charger SRT with 22K miles. Bought it new and still in love with it but I will sell it. The car is pristine in every way. Billet Silver...fully loaded with every option possible...Harman, sunroof, red belts, etc. I have had to replace the water pump and NAV unit under warranty. 2nd set of Pirelli's and PowerStop pads. Also...full bumper/hood wrapped with XPEL. Never raced, never used launch control, never fried the tires...just sporty everyday driven. I've changed the Pennzoil every 2K miles. I will sell it for $60K. Yes...above bluebook but it looks and runs absolutely like new. This is the last of the SRT's and those 3 letters make all the difference. I'm in SoCal...respond if interested.

Proud to see it. Maintenance is mega important. As long we keep that up, these things will go go go. I’m at 132,500 on my 2016 Scat Shaker Challenger. I’m on original motor and trans as well. I still take mine to the track and race. Granted I have a lot of aftermarket parts, headers, tune, etc. But, these things hold up even with mods. I never miss oil changes and I keep close attention to anything that may seem off. These things will last if you take care of it. You can’t avoid cosmetic damage or wear though sadly as you showed. My driver’s seat also has some wear. I think imo, it just all comes down to how people want to treat their car. It definitely is more expensive to maintain than a normal grocery getter. And it’s okay to not be perfect.

I have a '19 Scat Pack with about 23k miles on it. I have an extended warranty (7 years) as the max care was not available when I bought my car. I must say, it is a lot of fun to drive and I haven't had any reliability issues. That being said, I'm very soured on Dodge due to the service departments at our local dealers. My wife has a '14 Durango RT and she does have the max care warranty. That was our first ever Dodge and my SP was our second. She has about 90k miles on it and for the most part she has loved her Durango. Over the last couple of years though, there have been various reliability issues ranging from electrical issues, problems with her AC, transmission and most recently her starter. Having the max care warranty has easily been the best financial decision for her Durango as it has paid for itself multiple times over. Our biggest issue is with the service department. Even though we make an appointment for her vehicle, we have to drop it off in order for it to remain in the queue before it can diagnosed by a technician. Her Durango is currently at the dealer because the starter is failing. We dropped it off on 11/17 and we still haven't gotten it back. It took them until last week (the 23rd) before a technician could actually look at only for them to tell us that they couldn't replicate the issue (hard time starting it). They needed my wife to go down and show them even though she had made a video of the issue, showed it to the advisor and even having him try it himself when she first dropped it off. They basically said she needed to go to the dealer so she could push the start button. She went to the dealer and it did exactly what she said it was doing on Tuesday (the 29th). Now we're waiting for them to fix it so we can get rid of it. This is just one example of how the dealer has handled repairs on her Durango. We drop it off so it can sit on the lot and take up space, even if the issue is not safety related. It takes them a week plus before they even get to diagnosing the issue. They say they can't replicate it and so she'll inevitably bring it back or if they can replicate the issue, it takes them a few more days to actually repair it. The last couple of years, she hasn't been offered a rental, which I thought was part of the max care coverage, but maybe I am mistaken. So not only is she without a car for a week or two, we either have to pay out of pocket for a rental or have to rely on family to borrow one of their vehicles. While my Scat Pack hasn't had any reliability issues, I can only imagine I will have the same experience when it does start having issues so I'm not considering selling my Scat Pack sooner than I thought to avoid having to go through the same thing. Also, we've gone to a total of 4 different Dodge dealers in our area, and they are all the same. Sorry for the long rant, but I figured I'd share our experience as well. The vehicles themselves are fantastic.....when they work properly. It's the service department that ruins it for us.

That’s perfectly normal a friend of mine showed me that in the trackhawk, it happens when you lightly press the right paddle shifter the car will downshift, so if you ever do plan to use them again just press the paddle a tab bit harder to ensure you shift into a higher gear. Other then that great vid and good job keeping up up with the car.👍

The maxcare warranty is cool and all. But since you referenced scotty kilmer, his point in many of his videos is that half of those things you got replaced on your 7 year old vehicle wouldn’t need to be replaced for 15 to 20 years on a Toyota or a honda. That’s actually reliability. Whether it’s covered on not, the fact that all these parts need to be replaced within 5-7 years indicates a lack of quality.

How are they with internal motor issues, have you had the timing chain system serviced in those 170k miles, any lifter maintenance or replacement? Any water pump pulley/seal replacement? Power steering work? Any ECU issues that have been addressed or should be looked out for? I know this is a lot to ask, but I ask this because I prefer to service my own vehicle rather than take it to a shop to save a bit of money when it comes to something wearing out or failing and I would like to know what to take into consideration. I get that different engines have different things, and different drivers or driving styles can affect maintenance. But again, I'm just looking for things to take into consideration, especially since I'm looking around for a relatively late model Charger.
