    Hi Tim. Word of advice. As a trucker myself I do not use my phone. Because if you get DOT you're giving the officer the right to look through your phone. Start using a tablet and that way you can give them the tablet not your phone. Be safe and God bless.

    Be careful using PC! Just got popped for it in Missouri. Guy was nice enough to let me slide, but you cannot use PC if you are out of time to find a location to park for the night. According to DOT you would be falsifying your logs. Even if you are on a reset and you wanted to move your vehicle to a different spot or even get fuel. You would be in violation, which is ridiculous. Now of course this is subjective, but you get the wrong DOT officer he’s gonna get ya. Btw, saw you last week on the road Mac! Keep killin it man. Love the vids.

    Can you explain new authority, own authority and leased on.

    Im currently making $850 a week after taxes on a 40 hrs. I have been use to making almost twice as that with over time. But the problem is that it has been slow for the las 6 months. If I get hire on with someone is it possible to average $1300-1800 after all my deductions? Because I called the company’s you work for and some others and all they say is $2500-3000 take home free and if wee do all the deductions like you do that leaves me with a average of $1,150 a week. I just want to make sure that they pay would be worth it for being on the road at least $1,300 minimum weekly. Thank you brother , love your videos and the way you explain you got me engaged and wanting to give it a try keep up the good work.

    • @HotshotMacc
      @HotshotMacc  2 года назад +1

      Thank you bro and sorry for the delay. It really depends on you and how much you decide to work. You can take home anywhere from $1500 to 3k doing non cdl it just depends on you expenses. If you can keep cost down then you will see more of the money. But it definitely has good potential.

      @@HotshotMacc I am so jealous of people like you - out there actually DOING stuff. I've been driving a desk for the last 30 years as a software developer making sure your bank account balance on the web is the same everyday no matter what happens. Can you say "YAWN"??
      Bought a diesel dually and am considering a wild career change - and found your channel. I love watching you!
      You have enough knowledge and experience to start your own "Hotshot Driving School".
      Hell, I'd pay a thousand or so to attend!
      Keep up the good work.
      You and Mila are fun and educational to watch!!!

    Is that 15 minutes for the truck and the trailer, When I do a pre trip or post trip, I do 15 minutes for each vehicle

    • @HotshotMacc
      @HotshotMacc  Год назад +1

      I suggest it for both. But it’s at your discretion. It depends on how thorough you want to get but 30 minutes would be eating into my shift.

    • @htcguy1219
      @htcguy1219 2 года назад

      Trailers are in high demand right now, new builds taking 3-6 months. I suggest 30 or 40 preferably 40. Order one, buy used and run until the new one is made then sell the used. Good luck.

    Tim , I too, use to "pee in a bottle" ( while driving ) - trust me, doing this WILL NOT make you rich, stop, stretch your legs and walk & hit a restroom, a rest area, a truckstop or a safe place to stop.
    About the noting the tasks..... on duty is on duty ( other than noting the V.I. ) working is working - it doesn't matter.
    Now we DO need to note when we are being given a D.O.T. inspection.
    Legally you can start your day by 15 minutes COMBINING fueling & a V.I.
    15 mins loading, 11 hrs driving 15 mins unloading and a V.R.
    Long as we don't break the 11 hrs driving
    10 hrs break
    the 30 minute's break @ 8 hrs.
    While staying under 14 hrs
    We are safe.
    We can run paper logs if we have a 1999 or older truck.
