For those of you wondering why this actually wouldn’t work, the magnet would basically be pulling its own mass here. Think of it this way; if you removed the connecting rod, the car wouldn’t go toward the magnet, the magnet would go toward the car.

I mean force is the mass and speed, so Can you hold yourself in the air? No. Let me try this again in more complicated terms: according to the laws of physics, If you have a car with a magnet on it and a pole extending out to another magnet facing the first one, the magnets will try to pull toward each other but can’t get closer because the pole keeps them apart. Since the magnets are connected by the pole, their forces cancel out inside the system, so there’s no net force to move the whole car forward on its own. In short, the car won’t move by itself just because the magnets attract, it needs an external push to start moving.

Its answer is simply in your school textbook, Newtons 1st law or motion i.e An object remains at rest or uniform state unless a net External foce act on it.
